What might help is lighter leader like 12 or 15 lb. And use different jigs as well
We are blessed to live in such a gorgeous state! My job has provided me with the opportunity to see things that have blown my mind away, to the point that I've kinda become numbed to it. its just every day for me now, living life in the mountains. so for a kid who grew up in Texas I can defiantly understand the emotions you feel when getting to fish these coastal rivers. I take it for granted but I can see that you don't, and its important that you keep this kindling in your soul alive for these special places.

great work man just watched some of your steelhead vids, I grew up in Hawaii and I totally get how crazy it is fishing in freezing temps and these awesome fish lets link up and fish together sometime, I fish that one unnamed river you caught your first one on fairly often
Mann i wished i had more time to Exploregon.. Spent a year in Klamath falls and northern cali some of the best scenic views and fishing ever! Red band trout and water so clear u can see them hit ur lure in the rapids! Ill forever be a Texas boy but i would love to go back one day!

During ultra clear water. Make your leader line 8 or 12lb because if your line is heavy it’s gonna be harder for them to bite.

You can go heavier using fluorocarbon leaders
