Im actually more invested in this story then the actual justice league live action movie
As satirical as this animation is, the story is very philosophical and on point.
To kill or not to kill? That is the question.
To not kill
We can call the graphics anything, but in chaos or order to pass any true judgement upon the graphics, we'd have to be able to compose them.
The philosophy really is on point. How many times have Justice League members kept villains from being killed, by other villains or even previous victims seeking revenge for their slain families? How can Batman continue to trust in the system that cannot incarcerate or adequately punish mass murderers? How can Superman continue to spare cosmic level threats that will keep returning to murder millions in every invasion? How many more lives will be lost due to their failure to act or simply stand aside?
My favorite part was superman talking about how he doesn't believe in the spontaneous generation of a soul
@@silverblade357 So act over government? We have seen that outcome, it was called the Justice Lords. It was a dark parralel.
But here, they simply leave the criminals in the hands of humans. As it should be. If it is their wish to do nothing about the pattern of genocide, then it isn't the Justice League's moral responsibility to step in like gods. This whole bullshit mentality fosters in the DCU, but in reality this wouldn't exist. Many of these horrific criminals would be sentenced to Capital Punishment.

Result: The DC Database @ wikia only lists one "Helios" name, a minor Atlantean from one issue of an obscure 7-issue book from 1990. He doesn't get his own article. (dc.wikia.com/wiki/Atlantis_Chronicles_Vol_1_5). And ComicVine only lists THE Helios, Greek sun god, who pops up in mostly non-superhero graphic novels from time to time. (comicvine.gamespot.com/helios/4005-22650/)

I just love how Batman is doubting that Cheetah killed a lion, yet in this universe, there's magic, aliens, gods, amazon warriors, and even freaking different dimensions, yet the lion not being in its natural habitat is the thing Batman questions.

Come to think of it, John spends so much time out in space his architectural firm surely must have folded by now. and we all know those damn little blue men do/did not pay anyone.
I only can see Kyle having any money since he could freelance as an artist.....The rest I have no idea how they survived when not doing GL stuff(can't use the ring for personal gain), probably why one GL killed herself after getting stripped of the ring. Hal was stranded once because of the personal gain bull. Yeah, they have room and board and food from the Corps, but they would be broke as fuck on their home planet...And the fact that GL life expectancy is low. The Guardians are dicks
Well they got theirs in the end when Sinestro murdered their blue asses. John and Hal basically run the operation now, hopefully they will start paying Laterns for their service just a little something something.
The Avengers used to receive a stipend from the Maria Stark Foundation back in the day and I think Tony was still giving Stipends to members of his team of Avengers even currently.
Bruce could do the same for JL members. Hell Superman could fund them with the patents he could get from Reverse Engineering all that sweet tech he gets from his space foes or even most of the Kryptonian stuff that Lex would kill to get his hands on. Supes could also mine asteroids, moons, and planets for rare elements and metals to make a ton of money.
Basically between Bruce and Supes the JL should never be cash poor.
But it's DC, they likely come up with some kind of moral dilemma as to why the JL members should defend earth for free.
MArvel teams seem to get more out of being with their teams, and they all seem like more of a "family" or a common goal(X men at the mansion, FF4, SHIELD.
The JL really doesn't seem to have a strong common goal nor trust. (Well, Batman certainly doesn't trust the League all the time)
I like your idea though. Especially for the JL members who don't have kingdoms, or the power of Supes or insane wealth.Even Oliver Queen could fund them. Given that the JL in the pre 52 couldn't even protect member's family members, the least they could do is hand out life insurance. I believe in the DCAU it's the wealthier members of the group that provides money for JL stuff (damages, Watchtower etc). But the idea that the members get no compensation is weird and frankly stupid. It makes members less stable and less focused on heroics (come to think of the JL and GL Corps don't really have many benefits to being a member and with a the insane members, high rates of injury/death, risk to family, constant stress/danger...I actually have a new respect for Stark lol).

It was surprisingly good. This isn't the first time Batman has been portrayed this way. He's still badass and intelligent though. At least it was a happy ending. I was expecting everyone die horribly.
