I think people are mad at her because they hold the Greek life on a pedestal and attach so much of their identity to it. So for her to come out and say she doesn’t want something that people hold in such high regard is infuriating.
I had a friend who wanted to pledge and she was soooo excited to join I mean there was NOTHING you could've told her to stop her. We did bible stuies together and everythign (we came from a religious background) and long story short-I remember when she stopped midway of the "testing" stage. We asked her during bible study why she dropped out and the look on her face gave me chills! she gazed into space and you can tell she was not there, to this day she NEVER told a soul ehat they did to her and she told me "We are not allowed to speak on it" THAT WAS ALL THE CUE I NEEDED TO KNOW, i'm staying out that shit.
I have also heard this very same thing where they don’t want to speak on it and they just check out when asked about it. It’s like they hypnotized their brain to just go into an automatic answer naturally and it’s scary. Maybe they quite literally cannot open their mouths because why are you listening to what someone else said you can’t speak on and you’re grown ass hell?
@@Melmel1231I mean it is pretty demonic to have everyone spit the same egg into each other’s mouths or bite the same onion that the person next to you just took a bite out of.
I feel like as you grow in your faith, the Holy Spirit begins to renew your mind. Growth doesn't happen in one day, and faith isn't built that way either. Whether she joined in one day or 30 days does not change the fact that she should be allowed to change.
As Howard grad(class of 2022) the whole Greek atmosphere felt like a cult to me. From literally being told that people couldn’t openly discuss Greek life felt so damn weird to me and the shit I’ve heard them do just for people to be included in it…
My school had Greek 101 for ppl that were interested joining D9 I only attended once I never gained any knowledge the whole lecture sounded like a cult they kept talking in circles most ppl come from legacies and I always thought it was weird to not express you like more than 1 organization especially if your undecided between the two to me it felt like picking colors instead what they actually stood for bc to me Greek life came off as very secretive that’s why I never joined.
Doesn’t matter how many ppl are doing it. The Bible clearly says you can’t serve two gods. If you’re bowing down to Greek gods, you can’t bow to GOD. But every pics their own sins.
Denouncing has been going on for years because people soon learn that it doesn’t fit with their lifestyle……it’s “weird” that this conversation blew up from this one girl
Well I don’t want to be that person but she does fit the preference of the community so 🤷🏾♀️... I’ve come across many bw and bm on TH-cam denouncing their allegiance and expressing how these Greek organizations are against god, occultist etc.
Everything should be transparent in these sororities. Secrecy only leads to abuse of power. Why do these sororities want to be prioritized above everything in your life? Bcs they'll gain power over you. I'm not kneeling for any sorority & that shouldn't be a recruitment. Acting like they're God. Focus should be on what these sororities are hiding & if they should even exist. Extreme hierarchy, abuse of power, bullying. If this is what's hidden then it would be exposed & the abusers punished.
I find it highly suspicious when we're not able to openly criticize something that's deemed sacred. Who would want to face punishment for simply reevaluating our beliefs or making different choices? Asking someone about their level of commitment to Christianity can be quite upsetting when you don't understand their walk with Christ. I refuse to commit myself to anything that's shrouded in secrecy in a group setting. Can we really believe anything coming from a person who swore to tell the full truth of what's really going on?
as a Christian with my bachelor of Christian studies I've been saying for years that a person cannot be a Christian and pledge their allegiance to the flag, or be in a sorority or fraternity good for her all praises due to the one and only most high God...words have power... we need to stop following tradition and follow God 🙏🏾
As a child, I refused to pledge allegiance to the flag, it was clearly against God to me. My parents never told me that, it was just clear to me. I also had immigrant parents so, I really never understood the culture. That was probably a big barrier, my Black American friend had several proud Greeks in her family, so she knew all there is to know about it. I always thought it was strange and rather bizarre, all these Black people calling themselves Greek. I was approached and asked to start a chapter at my school, but I have always been a loner, that wasn't for me to do. It's always seemed to be very clickish for the vain and those needing to be popular. It's termed ”Greek” for a reason, academia is based upon the knowledge and worship of Deities the Greeks adopted from the Mali Empire by way of the Egyptians. It’s kind of obvious that would conflict with many modern Christian beliefs. Once these organizations were glamorized in tv, movies, music and politics people joined for status, which is vanity at its source. I was given the service, community, and networking pitch, so I understand how it could be attractive to some. Many are just young and fall into the trap, being told it's about doing good deeds, charity, sisterhood, and it’s good for their community and for their future careers. It sounds innocent, and when there’s so much secrecy it may be hard to discern for some. When they realize what they are actually doing, at the alters in the private ceremonies, they wake up.
@@chery4 I was born in a nation therefore I have a nationality however that doesn't mean I have to pledge my allegiance to it because that would be idolatry. my allegiance is to God
FR. My old roommate was white and not in a black sorority just a typical white one I guess but everything she had to do was so cultish like they had these events where they had to wear long white gowns no makeup and no shoes and had to be blindfolded and stuff and I’m like ??? Not to mentioned it was like 500$ a month (I think-definitely either 500$ a month or every other week idk but a LOT, especially for somebody with a barely good paying job and not helpful family). And I went to an interest meeting for AKA my freshman year and left that chat and never went back. A bunch of yapping that I didn’t care about
And you’ll never get that money back. And it’s not promised investing all that money will land these girls corporate jobs for 75K or more after graduation 🤷🏾♀️
Literally like who got time to spend money on “temporary friendship” 😭 that’s how I look @ it. “Sisterhood” ehhh 😂… these friends are transactional I feel lol
Before pledging, you have no idea what rituals and oaths have to be taken to get accepted into the sorority until it’s too late. It’s not like these secrets are available online to readily research, so it’s not really her fault for not knowing ahead of time.
I will have to respectfully disagree as I am one of those people who considered but “did my research” like they always say. Chioma mentions this in the video. There are ritual books for each org uploaded on Google. You can literally see where they’ve taken Bible scriptures and twisted them. Not only that but there are numerous videos on TH-cam of people denouncing…the information is out there. And people see it. It’s just a matter of who actually cares when convicted. And it’s been clear as day for years, a lot of people don’t care. This is just a popularity contest for most.
No I disagree. Pledging is taking an oath, she may have not known what they were going to say. However, she should’ve said “I don’t” when they started reading the oath. No one put a gun to her head to make her say yes.
Chioma is asking all the right questions. How deep was your faith and research before joining? She should have just been honest about not having the time and resources to be a member. That would make a great expose video until of saying “My Christian beliefs are under attack” after taking the damn oaths.
@@busterwilliams823I agree, I feel like there is so much research online regarding joining these organizations. I feel like some people do some things for clout and not for genuine purposes. I want to know also how strong was her Christian faith before she decided to join ? She can’t tell me that she didn’t know anything regarding this organization.
My sister denounced her sorority over 16 years ago when she became a Christian. I remembered watching her "cross" when I was a freshman in high school. So I, too, was going to join the pink and green, but by the time I went to college, this sorority had been banned from campus due to hazing. I'm glad I didn't join.
I wanted to join the pink and green also, was banned at SDSU while I was attending, ALL other black female communities on campus displayed bully/pickme Or cult energy
Girl now you seem to be obtuse with the reason they denounce publicly. We all are absolutely raided with D9 content whenever probate season comes around. These ppl are LOUD AND PROUD. So it is a fair point to denounce LOUD AND PROUD. Denounce also by definition means it must be done publicly. We always say apologize to me publicly if you disrespect me publicly. With the same energy you gave use the same energy to take. No need for NDAs. Also, you can’t be a serious Christian and be given commandments- they are not suggestion for interpretation- and argue for taking oaths and covenants and participating in Greek life culture. Just say you want to do both, don’t use the Bible to justify.
Sometimes you don’t know what something is until you’re in it. If anything this has made her faith stronger.Christianity is a journey and things change people are allowed to change their mind.
I’m confused as to why people are making a big deal of her timeline. Have we never personally made decisions and then immediately regretted them? Better for her to recognize now versus later. One of the devils main goals is to get you to waste time. Instead of receiving her with backlash, we should be praising the Lord that she has renounced her oath. Heaven has gained a new child!! 🙌🏾(Luke 15:7). Also, sometimes, you don’t realize until you’re in that it’s not of God.
That’s the same as getting a job that you really want, but then realizing you don’t like it and wanted to quit. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.
I cannot stand a “oh you do other stuff that’s just as bad” argument… it’s pathetic. I’m all for accountability but when people find ways to justify they bs or keep others from pursuing their own journey it makes me cringe
The same people that scolded Diddy for seeing the video of him beating and stomping Cassie are the same ones agreeing that hazing is needed to be apart of orgs…. It’s asinine… it becomes spiritual when you feel like you have to do ANYTHING to join this org. Getting hazed, spit on , beat on, asked to eat stuff you can’t see, being in dark rooms and chanting…. There are so many lost Greek members. If you signed your name in a book, Ethel taught you witchcraft. Proving yourself in the worst ways to join anything is spiritual.
Regardless of the process-there was a reason that she SPECIFICALLY went viral with this-she blew the lid off this issue that ppl have been trying to talk about for years..All of these “shoulda, coulda, woulda’s” is exactly apart of the problem. It’s called “devils advocate” for a reason…to cause CONFUSION. I come from a family of multiple Howard & Hampton legacies & they all told me to stay away from pledging as there is a devious dark side that you don’t know about until it’s too late-and they went back in the 70s, 80s & 90s! I have friends who personally went through a silent hell when they were part or sororities & fraternities and some of them most definitely still haze especially amongst the men, and a lot of them still have PTSD. However you wanna spin it, all sororities/fraternities are telling you in plain English that you are pledging yourself to another idol/diety…the symbols are all up & through the paraphernalia, readings, etc. Furthermore, ALOT of our beloved black universities & organizations were NOT founded by black ppl but instead by several of the main white families who created and spread the transatlantic slave & chattel system through Europe & western world. The original teachings are even based on Helenistic Governments & African people have NEVER partaken in Helenistic Governments. People can be mad all the want but it’s never too late to spread the truth.
Yes my great Aunt that was gonna join. Because of her good friend at the time she end up going to school but never pledged. Her friend however was never really the same my aunt says she was a total different person she was dealing with things with in the fraternity . She was dealing with bullying identity crisis etc . My aunt stared to do her research and talk to other students and till this day she says fraternities aren’t and was never for black Americans
Nothing but FACTS!! 👏🏾👏🏾 They’re heavily deceived and need prayer. Like why would a believer aspire for the “Greek life”. The Bible tells us exactly how the Greek used to live, and how God absolutely hated it.
They do actual rituals. It’s not a casual lifestyle. They lock themselves into covenants and conduct cult like worship. For example, when a brother or sister dies- these ppl conduct a ritual at the funeral. Then a private secret ceremony is done either before or after and I know it’s weirder. My ex situation sent me a picture of what looked to be like a séance during a chapter meeting. I’ve seen him chant in unison with brothers he met in public. They operate in hive mentality and I’ve seen some chapters humiliate and aggressively beat their organization members for the slightest things. They really cultivate an environment that is anything but Christian like. When I saw these men chant over a dead body I knew it was a cult.
i think this may only happen at a few specific chapters. i’ve never heard abt this happening with any of the D9 at my university, but I go to a PWI so the D9 isn’t as big here.
I hate when someone exposes something corrupt or morally wrong, we as black people always shun the person speaking up rather than the people or organizations that are actually doing corrupt. Just because it started out with well intentions doesn't mean the intentions can't change. Lets not act like sororities and fraternities haven't already been exposed for heinous traditions and rituals in the past.
I’ve seen and heard more Black women denouncing their membership to these sororities, especially for Christianity reasons which is understandable and makes a lot of sense. It seems like our people, men and women are joining these organizations not knowing what their worshipping, I feel it’s their worshipping two masters, the earthly one and the heavenly one, the Bible says not to have anyone over him. I’m a former Philo affiliate of Sigma Gamma Rho and now that I’m seeing more and more of Greek life being exposed? I’m glad I removed myself.
Than your honesty❤️so many ppl are mad that she pledged knowing her faith but the bottom line is we’re human & fallible. We can be blind today, and enlightened the next day. If we all had that mentality we would never forgive one another & the Lord for sure would’ve abandoned us a long time ago
I wonder if she did it to expose the private aspects. I remember a few years ago it was a young lady that denounced and exposed the behind the scenes. She received such backlash and severe death threats then she just disappeared from TH-cam. I wish I could remember her channel name. She also stated that it was a conflict of Christianity of worshipping two gods.
Thank you. I understand it's a subculture. Although it is not like belonging to an ethnic group. You don't get to choose what ethnic group you belong to. In the case of the frats and sororities you have the option of pursuing membership or not
@plusa6829 no it's not. Do further research and truly find out how & where this crap started, hit Africa, then was brought to the states. This isn't Black Culture at all!
No no chioma I have to disagree with you about saying it “depends on the person how u view it” nah it is what it is you just read those scriptures yourself. It don’t matter how or who puts it YOU CAN NOT serve both. & you never know how God is going to use you. He might have let all this happen just to teach HER a lesson and she CHOSE God. Talking bout she begged to be in this for 2yrs yea that’s fine she def was NOT gonna find out on Google how deep the shit is UNTIL SHES IN IT. I love all your videos but yea I’ll agree to disagree with your commentary today … ONE MORE THING why tf is everything a secret?? she can denounce out loud if she wants & im glad she did b/c SOME PPL WOULD LIKE TO BE AWARE. SHES BRING AWARENESS TO EVERYONE THANKS ZORA
Personally in my opinion, I don’t see anything wrong with her denouncing her membership. I’m not religious so the Bible verses she was reciting went one ear out the other for me. If she can’t continue being in the sorority due to faith reasons that’s fine. I went to a PWI in the Wisconsin so our sororities/fraternities were not a huge deal like HBCUs.
They will learn…..just because people do both that doesn’t mean God feels honored in both. None of idolatry is ok but the heart placement of ALIGNING YOURSELF WITH A FALSE god and performing RITUALS IS different. Sometimes the Holy Spirit will let you “get there” just to show you how deep things can get. Especially if she wanted it for 2 years. If she ain’t learn from the nos already, she had to get to the yes to get it. To see how much she would be selling her soul. Holy Spirit will literally get you through something just to instantly show you the problem. Be weary of anything that makes you take a vow of silence. Especially as a believer of Jesus Christ. Anything that needs darkness to thrive is ANTILIGHT…..
I really like how you described how the Holy Spirit works. I’ve always felt like it worked that way but never was able to articulate it this clearly because I’ve had to learn hard lessons the same way but for other things that I struggled with so thanks for that!
@@deasyastarr that I learned from experience. I’ve learned to thank God for the simple Nos because some of those yeses get really wicked. Especially when God wants you in the posture of seeking him. He WILL sometimes let you deep into that darkness
Also to your point about claiming to be Christian but aligning yourself thru covenant with organizations that center false gods, I literally feel the same way. Especially on the part where Chioma says that she knows of Christian’s that are good people and are apart of Greek life. Those aren’t Christian’s according to the Bible. True Christian’s align themselves with The Almighty and that’s it. He has already explicitly stated that he does not allow the worship of (entering into a covenant with) other gods. Also it’s not the same as being a fanatic of a celebrity or having certain addictions that could count as being idolatry, yes idolatry in any form is wrong but people apart of Greek life are literally pledging their allegiance to false gods in conjunction to God. You can stop liking a celebrity or quit an addiction but these Greek organizations and other forms of cults take wayy more than just to walk away. There can be ramifications that can severely affect your livelihood.
@@theamazingdoubleA yesss and isn’t it funny when you look back at those experiences, things could have abd probably should have turned out wayyyy worse? It’s like there was a protection over you as you learn the lesson and then it brings you closer to God!
This is only my opinion. But Queen Chioma, I feel like you didn’t give this situation the appropriate amount of grace. “ I’m not sure why she continued the process if she was so Christian”. To be fair, she’s young. That means she also “young” in her faith. She will undergo trials that will test it, and what’s crazy about life… is it’s an equalizer. No Matter how Christian you are, or whatever you believe in; you can and will make mistakes. Let’s not forget about PEER PRESSURE. Or the after effects of quitting because it didn’t sit right anymore. It’s too many variables in this situation to make it seem as if she would fathom the maximum outcome(be it negative or positive) that this may cause.
I understand your POV! I only said I wasn't sure because for every bit of research done in a 2 year span that shows positive realities about the org(s), it also shows negatives about the orgs as well. Sponsors, alumni, the internet, and current members on her campus at some point before and during had to allude to something along these lines. Honestly, TikTok alone tells me more than I should know. I think she truly looked past things she felt were a compromise. Yet, I do truly give her grace on compromising because she is young and we all sin, I just think posting it to this extent knowing the uproar it would cause was brave, but also can be seen as problematic. Her actions may be problematic to some, but I’m more concerned about her mental and emotional well-being since she is still a student and will return back to the same school where this all happened at. I pray she'll be okay and God will cover her in that.
This information is no secret. The process has been talked about for years. What she included in her letter has been leaked years ago. People are denouncing because they are now understanding what it means to take part in taking oaths and participating in rituals. I think once she participated in the ritual and took the oath, I think scales fell off her eyes. Oh and for the record, taking professional medical oaths are not the same as those recited in these types of ceremonies.
DST has a chant that goes “All of my love, peace, and happiness, I’m gonna give it to Delta.” 🥴 If that’s not demonic, evil, anti-Christian, I don’t know what is.
As an active viewer of this channel, a member of D9, and an agnostic… I watched the entire video and Chioma thank you for touching on BOTH sides. Her spirituality and reasons for leaving AND the red flags this woman presented over the 2 years of pursing membership that she shouldn’t even have gotten the opportunity to pursue. I’m just so tired of this conversation. And let me be clear, not the conversation of people leaving and “denouncing” D9… it’s the because of God that gets me. I don’t respect people who bully anyone for leaving due to their spirituality, nor do I support all the practices of D9! BUT several people are devoted Christians and belong to these organizations. So yes two things can be true at once, shocking. Second, these “oaths” are the same oaths people take when they are sworn into office, police, the military, but yall don’t call them demonic and sinful??? Right. Every chapter has a different process, maybe this lady’s process didn’t align with her views. With that being said, don’t generalize a WHOLE org for one chapter’s practices. Also people are upset with her dropping within 30 days because she should have known at least halfway through that process before paying those dues what was in store for her. She took a spot of another woman who may have had done so much with that opportunity. But if she lost sight of her faith throughout her process that is a personal flaw, I’m happy she refound herself. Just do not condemn the whole org because of your lack of faith that was easily lost with or without an oath. Finally, idc if people denounce in public or private. Let’s just stop giving them a platform and attention period. That’s the issue.
When I was asked about joining a sorrority, I politely told my roomate that I already had a sister. That was all the "sisterhood" I need. Plus, I low-key had a temp back then. I prob would've ended up in prison during those crazy disrespectful hazing rituals, etc. I didnt have the time or patience for all of the sheningans.
I heard that. Y'know, spitting is a deal breaker, you don't spit on a dog or your worst enemy but it's supposed to be okay because you're trying to join an organization??? Just give me a license plate, hold it in front of my chest and take a picture.....I'm not takin that beatin'
Ive always felt like sororities and fraternities were odd just for the simple fact that i dont like the idea of paying to have friends. Also I dont like the idea of hazing or bullying from said potentjal friends to be accepted.
Chioma, I have to strongly disagree with you on this one. However, to your point about there being good people in these orgs, the Bible literally says: “In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.” Matthew 5:45-48 NLT *And yes, I am aware that this verse is in connection to turning the other cheek. Not taking verses out of context but again, it still speaks to the verses point of being Christ like. Be set apart, just because everyone is involved in a frat and a Christian does not mean you have to be* I bring this verse up because Jesus says here that even pagans are kind to their friends. So basing whether or not frats and sororities are of God, off of the fact that you know some good people in them, does not change the fact that God doesn’t support them. Being a good person does not mean you are being obedient to God nor does it mean that you have a true reverence for God(Good by God’s definition and our human definition are not the same). Remember, even bad people do good. However, as the Bible says: “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,” Colossians 3:23 NKJV Let the good you do be for the Lord but if all the good you do is credited to an org or idol, is it really good if it’s not God? Remember, God is good!! So with that being said, He knows what’s best!! I hope this comment didn’t come off harsh or brash, I mean this in the kindest way, I know tone cannot be communicated all the time through text. God bless 🙏🏾.
I was a debutante for AKA when I was a senior in high school I’m glad I never joined because something seen so off and cliquey about the divine 9 And now my mom is a member and it has a chokehold on her and made her a different person
I was a debutante too but i believe it was for delta I could be wrong but it was definitely a waste of my time and it was very cliquey. Favoritism was also show. It was very weird to me.
My mom is a sigma gamma rho tho the sority life doesn't have a grip on her cause she grown , has kids , a job , and hobbies , she still loves her gold and blue , she tried to push the sorority life upon me , I was an affiliate but after I went to college I was like " all they do is go to parties and stroll , maybe do some charities here and their but I don't see the point or charm to this " 😂😂 my mom is 2nd gen sgrho, at the time i was excited to be a 3rd legacy but i lost interest overtime
I don’t think it’s fair to “blame” her for going through the process. Yeah, we can hear things, but can still have that doubt that it’s not true until we actually experience it for ourselves. And we don’t know what this girl was experiencing throughout intake. Maybe it was fine at first but the convictions grew stronger over time, but social pressure (and the prestige that’s associated with being apart of the “Divine 9”) could have motivated her to continue. Who are we to say when she should’ve quit or how and when she was convicted to finally denounce. Also, I hate the argument of keeping the “sacred” practices/rituals/ process private. What’s done in the dark SHOULD come to light. Because if nothing is wrong, bad or evil about it, what’s so bad about sharing it with the public?? And I completely don’t see how one can be a devout Christian and be apart of these organizations. It is a covenant that is made with another entity that’s NOT God. So God does not like that. There’s definitely some cognitive dissonance going on with these “Christians” in the frats and sororities. Maybe they’re lukewarm or they haven’t been convicted by the Holy Spirit yet or are ignoring the conviction 👀
It’s not that peculiar. There are people (though not many) who have left during the process because of Godly convictions, they just have not talked about; I can stare this from personal knowledge. A lot of people are mad at her however I haven’t heard anyone deny what she has said. Why can’t people talk about what happens in the orgs? Why? Because the things they cannot talk about are illegal and completely against the Word of God.
You don't know what your talking because you are not a member. D9 initiation is legal. Hazing is not legal though. None of the orgs are required to discuss the orgs because they are secret societies. It's nothing wrong with being a secret society, because it's our business no one else's.
@@mztremiasthere's a different between cult and religion. Cults don't even follow an actual God or theological philosophy. They just follow another person.

Would you criticize a woman for leaving a toxic marriage 30 days in? I wouldn’t. I’d be glad she was free. Better late than dead. This judgement is cringe.
Of course not, but I would be skeptical of someone who decides to marry someone after two years of dating them, and knowing that there were possible discrepancies that happened before they reached the alter. Random kind of unrelated, but sort of related thought, but Kim Kardashian definitely got scrutinized for leaving her marriage to Kris Humphries after 72 days. Anybody that joins Greek life had to have done their research, and she most definitely did. That’s why she had non-negotiables from the beginning which she stated in her letter. She did not blindly enter her choice to become Greek. And as much as I do not fault her and actually give her grace for her choice to leave , especially since it’s religious, I do think she may have been motivated by something else which is why she compromised before during and after. At the end of the day, I respect that she made the right decision for herself.
@@QueenChioma That's fair. Yes Kim did get heat, that's true. I'm mostly disappointed that people (not you, in general) are more focused on how this makes Greek life look than congratulating someone on boldly saying no to something that no longer works for them. Now that I'm out of my feelings, I can agree that her timing is a bit interesting. Nothing about D9 (to an outsider) screams "this is acceptable for Christians," so it does call into question what all was said that made her finally decide this wasn't best for her. Some people enter places they know they shouldn't just to have a story to tell later, so I guess we will never know what really went on leading up to this. I appreciate your response.

I’m a Delta, I crossed at Sigma Chapter in Fall 2005 at Clark Atlanta. You made great points as to the backlash she’s receiving. 1. Doing this at Alpha Chapter is shocking and a huge deal. We had almost 400 girls at our rush and they took 32 of us, so I’m not surprised Howard had 500. 2. She actively pursued this and took all the steps a real interest would take. Asking for a letter of recommendation and then leaving in a month is a slap in the face to the Soror who wrote it. 3. She never mentioned any of the prayers that are specifically Christian that are said throughout multiple ceremonies. She didn’t stay long enough to attend conferences and conventions were we have prayer breakfasts and each meeting is started and ended with prayer. Also Delta Week in campus always begins with church service on Sunday, followed by community service activities through the week. This does feel attention seeking. I am a Christian and have no problem proclaiming the name of Jesus. Delta has never stopped me from believing in Him.
It’s about you taking an oath and making a covenant. This has nothing to do with if your organization starts or ends with prayer. This has nothing to do with your believing in Jesus or not. The oath you take to become a member is spiritually binding. I think a lot of people miss the point.
My question is have yall ever considered that the original oath you took was never referring to the God you know in Christianity? That's what scares me, wondering if you've committed ed your loyalty to another God without realizing it because in a "respective faith" "their God" is probably going to simply be referred to as God. So moving forward, have you ever considered that the prayer breakfasts are prayers for the "God" worshipped in "your" sorority and not the one worshipped in Abrahamic religions?

If we are so proud of being black why do we follow Greek Goddesses and not Yoruba Goddesses Smfh. The ancestors are looking at yall crazy.
I've literally never understood that, like that has Greek association, letters etc got to do with being black. But thought it's just my lack of understanding cause I'm from the UK
These orgs were found at a time when predominantly white institutions were not supportive of providing students services to black students. The white sororities/fraternities did not accept black students to pledge. So the blacks turned to each other for support. That's how BGLOS started. That white frats taught some of the founders a few details in getting their own frat started.
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on many of your points Chioma. Your disagreement is understandable but at the same time I think that it wasn't a bad thing to quit when she did. Maybe to some the timeline looks sketchy, but she probably quit at the perfect time before it got worse and compromised her morals further. This is a secret society and her initiation was probably made to look cute and innocent and appealing especially since she had expressed, allegedly, her eagerness to join and they probably have a spiel or routine for aspiring members to stick around and not chicken out. Kind of like love bombing. Then when she was made to make that oath, it probably shook something inside of her and gave her that wake up call to escape. Her denouncemnt being loud and proud is not a red flag to me, because I also am a Christian and I wouldn't want to do this either. Also, I have to say I am proud of her for her expose because there are many young ladies who might look on greek life as some kind of glamorous and fun thing to do and not realize what they are getting into. I'm glad that this information is out because all it takes is one person to get the ball rolling and then maybe it will point someone in the direction of those other resources you mentioned. I also wanna say, I was disappointed for calling her out on her faith and questioning her faith and I must say it was not very charitable of you to do so. Everyone's faith is a personal walk with God and who knows, maybe you're right and she had weak/no faith and maybe the circumstances of her departure made it obvious to her why she must leave and recommit herself to Christ. Chioma, I hope you read this, and just know I am one of your loyal supporters and I've been watching your channel since 2018.
I do have to question one’s faith when all of this information is very public and there are stages of this process that may be compromising to faith. And like the comment said, her sponsor was in her process for 2 years and she never mentioned being Christian. I think that’s important because it’s very clear that a person has to “pledge” to join these organizations and there are numerous videos and articles about what may go on. There’s a reason why there is a population of a college campus that won’t bother joining because it’s not for everyone and it may compromise their morals or religion especially. Like I said, I have no issue about her Christian convictions, but there is enough time before becoming a member and actually having the showcase in front of the campus, friends, and family to bow out of this. I don’t think it’s fair to be disappointed for questioning her faith because she stated she had non-negotiables from the beginning which does lead me to believe that she new there were possibly a few things that may not sit right with her spirit and she agreed to compromising on things initially. Again, I’m fine and proud of her for eventually standing firm in her faith to let go of the oath/ covenant that she made, but I’m a very fair and inquisitive person and look at all things thoroughly so I do have to question things that may seem a little bit off to me too. I think she had a good and fair reason for leaving when you look at it on the surface, but when you dive into what she wrote, the time, the research, the money, and how many entities are involved in her even being invited to join, there were definitely several times prior or during each stage where if it was solely about faith, she could have walked away. That’s my only reason for questioning her strength of faith. From my understanding, every organization is different and every process is different so I respect her decision as it relates to her experience because I see why it’s a conflict of interest for her as a Christian regardless. I just pointed out things that made me say hmmm and some of the debates members had back in response to this. I just have to be fair ✨ Thanks for your comment!

These two videos above break down how black Greek life started and their how demonic it all is. Zora did the right thing regardless of 30 days 2 weeks 5 minutes, she saved her soul. Questioning her about when and why is her own walk of faith but she saved her soul. Doesn't matter when, she did it! And that is the true miracle in all this.
People have been denouncing for reasons other than faith. Any person who ever joined a cult usually is looking for a status or belonging. The status you used to get from joining these cults is dying. People are seeing it for what it is and they are scared of losing that sense of importance. Thats why they are mad. An NDA won't stop anything from being leaked or stop people from telling people they no longer want to associate themselves with that group. Could you imagine someone trying to make you associate yourself to them FOR LIFE and its not a marriage? That alone is insane.
my biggest issues with d9 is they say they aren’t a hazing org but so many of their chapters are getting shut down for that! i will never understand being made in order to serve your community, sure you should know the info about your org but to beat people and emotionally abuse 17-22 year olds is insane. all the stuff you have to do to be consider into the org but once you’re in it i seen more parties than events on campus its not always like this but i know for my school i didn’t seen much unity, school events or community service which is what these groups were for. lastly anyone willing to bring trauma onto themselves to fit into a group or popularity scare me cause you should be able to be yourself not matter if you’re in a group or not too many people make being greek their whole personality
I think what’s interesting is the flack that denounces get from other members; if y’all are Christian orgs, WHY does it anger you so badly when people denounce? Folks are very angry; that anger is a spirit in itself
I've seen a lot of videos of black women denouncing their Greek organizations saying they are evil and satanic. What I have noticed is the yt folks aren't doing the same. If they leave they usually don't note religious reasons.why is it only black folks claiming religious reasons? This is an interesting topic for sure.
Maybe because some people just aren’t as serious about their faith? There are a lot of lukewarm Christians/Muslims, etc. that don’t care as much about pleasing God and obeying His commands.
Historically, no disrespect, white ppl are usually not that SPIRITUAL as they are religious. They may follow a religion but they don’t necessarily grasp the spiritual ramifications of a lot of ish that they do. How else would their forefathers have been able to completely obliterate groups of ppl with not one empathetic bone in their body….
I didn’t agree with you on a lot of facts so let’s just agree to disagree; I was born and raised christian( preacher’s kid) and I’m African! When I graduated from college with my AA , I was always invited to take honors classes, join a chapter etc but never paid it no mind! Fast forward completing my BA during the pandemic, I felt alone, longed for a sense of belonging and agreed to join a sorority in my campus! Nothing extreme happened ( they specifically said they don’t do hazing, it’s illegal in NY). I did all this while being Christian, some way somehow I wasn’t able to connect to my fate and kept having dreams… so after being tormented by God, the day I decided to speak to them to say I won’t be moving forward, they told me I wasn’t going to able to join coz I’m senior and graduating soon( mind you they selected some seniors graduating along with me). We don’t know why she made it public; whether it was clout or not, it’s going to help someone! We can’t question her faith, the deeper you get connected to God things that were hidden before may now be shown to you! I don’t agree about the NDA, it’s a sorority for Christ’s sake, not the Secret Service or FBI😒 I know my dissertation was long, my apologies 😅
As a Christian Woman, I commend Zora for getting out from among them! There is so much that could be stated however, I will simply state this God is ultimate authority and has the final say! “Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven…” Don’t get into these convents with secret societies for the sake of “brotherhood/sisterhood”. Come judgment day we will all be judged for every idle word we said. Please know that God honors covenants. You cannot serve two masters!
A convent, an alter AND a ritual?!?!? Yeah she most definitely did the right thing denouncing cuz wtf not today satan🙅🏾♀️! I’m a Christian myself and i completely agree with everything she said, this stuff is NOT to be played with.
The reason why they are announcing publicly is because they’re trying to shed LIGHT on what’s going on in these Greek organizations. I think the denouement should be public. When you join this public, you have to tell your friends your family you wear it you it’s a put on your car license plate stickers. You have to post on social media about it. You have to put it in your bio. You have to tell your job everything you do regarding a Greek organization is public once you become affiliated with them it’s like an official stamp so let me unofficially stamp that I’m no longer with this organization. Why do I have to go about that in private when everything about this organization regarding me is displayed publicly. These organizations hold a demonic origin. I understand what you’re saying, depending on what you partake in regarding these organizations really depends on how it affects you mentally emotionally and spiritually. Although that’s the whole risk of an oath once you take the oath, you don’t know what comes with it. They give you context, but you won’t get until you experience it and we know how these organizations work the higher you get the deeper. You may join and may not experience these things, but you’re playing with fire.. because regardless if you worship God the creator of this earth then you are not supposed to go Greek. You can’t be Greek and Christian. It doesn’t work like that and if you actually looked into the deep meaning of going Greek and the origins where everything comes from you would know. That’s like saying you’re Muslim but you practice new age like what in the world… YHWH ❤ HALLELUJAH PRAISE THE MOST HIGH.
me personally I'm glad she did it publically because I didn't know what D9 was until I saw this video. I'm graduating next summer so it helps to know this stuff. I've heard the words fraternity and sorority but I had no clue what D9 was and that you have to pledge alliegence to get in. Now i'm gonna do research to learn more.
I have a lot of Greeks in my family. Both of my parents are Greek so I was so excited to go to college and pledge. The sororities I considered were banned from my campus so I never joined. I’ve seen and heard a lot and I’m glad I never pledged. Even at the probates the energy in the room is always chilling…
Maybe God ordained it to be that way. Maybe He did allow her to go through the entire process so she was able to really see the process and maybe expose it. Also convictions can come at any point! And when God speaks sometimes He does it at an inconvenient time. I’ve heard many stories of even LGBTQ+ members getting divorced DAYS after marriage due to these strong convictions.
She used her testimony to prevent a lot of people from doing these rituals and making these covenants. We have to ask ourselves why do these people have to do so much in secret, and why do they get mad when people talk about what goes on behind closed doors. There’s a reason why so many people are denouncing, it’s not a trend, it’s spiritual.
There’s no way in hell I’m signing an NDA just to be a part of a sorority. If a candidate for a sorority or fraternity can publicly announce that they’ve been accepted into a chapter then they should be able to publicly announce that they’re leaving it. Zora‘s letter made the initiation into the sorority sound like the initiation of joining a cult. You have to swear an oath on an alter and this will follow you until you die, and you will never be freed, huh??? Y’all don’t see how weird that is?? I don’t fault Nora for walking away as quick as she did. Sometimes we don’t always see things through, and maybe she really did feel the conviction that the oath that she made to this organization was wrong. Could she have done more research oh absolutely, but let’s not act like we don’t make mistakes and then realize the gravity of those mistakes after the fact.
S/O to her not waiting years unlike others who have denounced.. she understood she didn’t have to give up what she believed in to have what she believed in.. I’m proud of you!
While I can see both sides, I don't think she needed to do it privately. People who pledge and make it through the process are absolutely loud about it and if she is making a statement towards her faith there is no need to be silenced. No matter the faith. A spiritual journey is just that. So even if her faith wasn't strong enough to stop her in the process at least she found her voice, strength and faith to get out of what didn't sit well with her spirit. No one is perfect. God Bless her.
Thank you so much for touching on this Chioma! I’m absolutely sure in Zoras case like many others there is a lot of pressure to not drop the line. I’m absolutely sure God gave her conviction during her crossing process which she probably ignored. I believe she is at the point now of no longer ignoring the blatant idolatry and I commend her for denouncing!!! Ever since I started college, something was always off in my spirit about these organizations. Some of them were so mean spirited to others and I knew then, that is not the “sisterhood” God called us to be in. I’m so glad you are bringing light to this. I watch these denouncing videos all the time and I pray that Jesus can save all of the lost souls who’ve been deceived. Greek Life is Not of GOD. God leads these things to be EXPOSED! This is why it MUST be done in public. And there will be no legal battle because this has been public information. You can reveal these things once you denounce as they should be. Also for anyone who disagrees and believes in God please go in your prayer closet and truly ask God to reveal to you what you are doing wrong and watch the truth be revealed.
I never understood… Sororities/fraternities. Paying for what seems like “friendship/perks” in life. Makes me feel like it’s highschool. Except paying to be accepted. Weird 🥴. Then the same organizations turn around misuse & abuse their power to the highest degree… against their own half the time. All the hazing stories I’ve hear & read, I can only imagine what else is being unsaid about this “Greek life”. 💭
I’m actually glad she did it public. When I was in high school there was a Delta who would recruit girls and have after school meetings on campus. I was interested so I went to a few. She talked about the benefits of being in a sorority and stuff. I really wanted to be in it until I didn’t anymore. Not sure why. A little after high school I became religious. I’ve only heard rumors that there was some kinda hints of paganism in these groups but now she publicly exposed her experience and I’m personally glad I didn’t pursue. Whoever is comfortable with that oath they can continue and whoever isn’t just won’t go near it. Nothing hidden and no surprises.
Chioma... we don't question why she did it, We celebrate that she realized she ran astray from Her religion and got back on the right track. As a college student, we aren't under our parents anymore to tell us "NO". She joined publicly... she needed to denounce publicly for religious purposes. It is not her responsibility to respect the wishes of a demonic organization that possibly deceived her...she wants no part of. I'd like to hear from her and ask what her awakening was. Was it in a dream? Church? A yt video?
I respect that she exposed the behind the scenes stuff that is supposed to be in secret. Ephesians 5:11-13. “Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret. But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,” 💯
I was never into sororities, or any of those college groups, I always respected them, because I understand why they exist, and what they meant to those who came before us, however in the year 2024, it’s a no for me. I wouldn’t want to join any of those groups, not at a PWI or HBCU. It’s very odd, with the initiations, the pledges, and OVERALL HAZINGS? I don’t see why anybody wants to act like they worship somebody just to be apart of a group.
It’s only so much research you can do. You have to be I. The thick of it. My friend’s great grandmother was apart of the founding chapter at an HBCU and she joined and dropped after two months of pledging. She said herself no one could have prepared her for that experience. Her mother and grandmother never told her the things that she went through.
@steveurkel9097 you're right. But now days, there's so much info on the internet that it's almost impossible to miss....I think some people just want that status regardless of knowing they're selling their soul...
The fundamental problem really goes beyond fraternities and sororities. The problem even goes into some of the buildings have co opted the term church for. And the main problem is people’s understanding of what it means for a person who CALLS themselves a Christian to take up their cross and follow Christ. Some take grace as an opportunity to do any and everything up to the limit they think is questionable before God but is it. I saw that pastor make excuses for that fraternity and take swipe a swipe at holiness to defend a fraternity. When two of his own pastors quit after he joined. And that’s the problem - people in high places with Greek affiliation s sitting in secular and sacred seats but are really double minded. You can be any title, pastor, prophet, evangelist but are you a “worker of iniquity l” is ultimately the question that all will be asked. Come out of this lifestyle.
Why isn’t anyone talking about the clear colorism from this denouncement. Many people denounce which is fine, but I have only been seeing people post her face and saying they feel bad that she went through the process. Joining those type of organizations takes time and effort. She isn’t “innocent” and knew exactly what she was getting into. She isn’t the first or last to denounce so why give her so much attention for it.
I agree with your comment. Had she been dark skin, this story would not be popular. Her skin tone and mixed racial features caught people's attention and thus brought attention to her story.
@misfitme7838 Yeah, same. It's quite remarkable that she denounced in just 30 days and I think that's where a lot of the shock and awe comes from. But then that colorism part probably does play into it too.
You’re contradicting yourself, how could she have done more research and found more out about this group, then in the same breath mentions how this group PRIORITIZES secrecy to keep the majority information within the members of this organization.
How are sororities gonna bring in enough new members to support the organizations financially when folks are now seeing that even the MEMBERS don't wanna be members anymore?
I have been a member Kappa Alpha Psi for 21 years. Although I have not denounced…I do feel ALL the Black fraternities and sororities aren’t truly present in the larger Black community. All we see are jackets, probates, and line dancing. We were created as an answer to Black isolation on PWI campuses, and as a path to brother and sisterhood on HBCU campuses. In the modern day, we need to be visible and present outside of the undergraduate campus level. We should be on the frontlines of the culture. Until I see that, I’m going to say these organizations are for the experience and not much more. Just my opinion based off of decades put it.
How active are you in your graduate chapter? What dismays me most about the tenor of the majority of the comments on this video is that there is scant mention of the fact that graduate members of ALL D9 organizations are the ones who perform the majority of the positive activities of each sorority/fraternity. I know sorors in their 70s, 80s and beyond who are nothing but pillars of their communities, and staunch role models to younger sorors. It's impossible for me to know where you are geographically, but here on the east coast, there are countless communities that benefit from the works of my sorority, and in fact from ALL D9 organizations.
@@dianeridley9804 I was bored and raised in the East Coast, I currently live on the East Coast. I fully appreciate your response. However, my opinion, based off of 2 decades of experience, remains. Thank you 🙏🏾
As a Christian we are always supposed to be growing in our faith walk, as a result convictions will increase as you become familiar with Gods word and the Holy Spirit. As Christians we hold the Bible as a standard and there are certain exceptions within the parameters of Christianity. We are called to be bold with our testimony, and make disciples. That’s why baptism is a public display. Our loyalty lies with Christ, nothing else matters not even traditions. A lot can change in a day once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior; baby Christians are the most courageous! Good for her, it is never too late or too early to make corrections ✨🙏🏽
Greek life is idolatry and a money grab…I was on the Kappa line and all they did was make me run around and spend my own money, then told me I still needed 2500 to be able to cross.
Girl…. This did not need to be a topic discussed tbh. She can make a decision for herself, and you don’t have a right to question her about her Christianity nor does anyone else. This video is very judgmental smh. You missed the mark on this one Chioma.
The statement about everyone involved in worshipping false gods in some type of way is false, and even if so….not because people are doing it that means it’s right to do. And Chioma u would be very surprised about people not thinking anything is wrong with greek life and sororities. There’s a lot of things I use to do that I am just now getting revelations about so that’s unfair to say. Another thing I’ll address is not because these people are doing “good” in their communities that means they aren’t worshipping false gods. I know murderers who have back to school treats and Christmas treat for children in their communities every year!! And if God tells you to denounce publicly it’s important to listen to the voice of God and denounce so that other people especially followers of Christ will see it! That’s the point of denouncing and renouncing in public.
I have been interested in a D9 org and I will say that there is a lot that you won’t know until you’re in the process of being on the other side. Looking at the Delta crest again often seeing it hundreds of times by now, I didn’t even notice that there was a face on top of the crest. Minerva being on there would have went over my head. Now of course I might have learned that if I was interested in Delta through “doing my research”, however, this one really through me in a loop. I thought Minerva was on anther sororities crest this whole time.
She announced she was a member publicly, so denouncing publicly was the right thing to do. Also when ppl come to realization that things aren’t for them at different points. And maybe she wanted to tell the sacred steps to getting initiated, so other women who maybe be interested could really understand what will happen if they want to join. A lot of Christians and even pastors are members of these organizations, so maybe she thought it was okay at first.
How can you confuse everyday things like music, making money (which biblically is okay and it talks a lot about it and says we should all pay taxes aka the government), with INTENTIONALLY AND PURPOSEFULLY BOW DOWN AND RECITE WHAT SEEMS LIKE WITCH CRAFT LINES. Two things can be true at once but that comparison is crazy.
I always felt like sorority and fraternities gave me cult vibes. Like there’s literally no difference if you ever studied cults or even worse been in one they find people looking for community and take advantage of them then use their membership to control them.
I wouldn’t necessarily compare idolatry in a sorority vs idolatry with money, shopping, relationships and etc. because someone could denounce those things and decide to not idolize them anymore. But you would still need to buy items and pay bills and have relationships with people. However you don’t really need to be apart of a sorority. So the denouncing of such things is going to look different. I don’t have to hand a paper to someone to show that I’m denouncing a love of shopping or if I’m idolizing my relationship with someone I’ll spend less time with them or break up. But it would be similar as denouncing an affiliation with a sorority because of my walk with Christ.
My Mother is An Eastern Star, I always respected the closeness with God they had, but it confused me still the same… (Mom is 87) I went to Florida A&M University. I didn’t pledge.. The weird part about everything. My mother never spoke about it🤔
That’s why these oaths and rituals of the Greek organization are private, because if they let ppl know what they were getting into before hand a lot of ppl would feel the Holy Spirit’s conviction and not even apply to begin with. It’s not until you’re well into the process that you start to see that these organizations are routed in paganism, and the worship of other deities. At that point you’ve spent so much time, effort, and money (plus the pressure from your line sisters and peers) you just believe it’s easier to keep going and finishing the process. Good for her for realizing what a mistake she made, and not wasting time to correct it.
Most people who wanted to join sororities join for community and sisterhood. And maybe just maybe thats what she was looking for. And during that process things happened where her commitment to God was tested. As a christian she chose WISELY. Its funny how soon as she chose her faith and god, community and sisterhood goes out the windows. And you can tell by the backlash.
I think people are mad at her because they hold the Greek life on a pedestal and attach so much of their identity to it. So for her to come out and say she doesn’t want something that people hold in such high regard is infuriating.
That’s true at first I use to think well these some college age young adults still easily influenced but grown adults the same way
No matter her intentions which we do not know, this young lady has saved a lot of people from spiritual warfare. A covenant is nothing to play with.
Finally someone with some sense

Yep!! As soon as she denounced the Demons started manifesting!!
She also earned herself whopping amount of warfare on both sides of the realm 😂

Oh I saw it all first hand! Fake Sisterhood in my opinion. I’ve had an AKA tell me she distanced herself from the D9 for this exact reason.
I had a friend who wanted to pledge and she was soooo excited to join I mean there was NOTHING you could've told her to stop her. We did bible stuies together and everythign (we came from a religious background) and long story short-I remember when she stopped midway of the "testing" stage. We asked her during bible study why she dropped out and the look on her face gave me chills! she gazed into space and you can tell she was not there, to this day she NEVER told a soul ehat they did to her and she told me "We are not allowed to speak on it"
THAT WAS ALL THE CUE I NEEDED TO KNOW, i'm staying out that shit.

I respect this young lady for sticking to her morals and beliefs.
Doesn’t matter how many ppl are doing it. The Bible clearly says you can’t serve two gods. If you’re bowing down to Greek gods, you can’t bow to GOD. But every pics their own sins.

Ugh it doesn’t matter how she came to her conclusion… it matters that she did it.. good for her! The father comes to you in time.
absolutely!
Spot on
That's what I'm saying! Who cares how long it took her.
Denouncing has been going on for years because people soon learn that it doesn’t fit with their lifestyle……it’s “weird” that this conversation blew up from this one girl
Right
Well I don’t want to be that person but she does fit the preference of the community so 🤷🏾♀️... I’ve come across many bw and bm on TH-cam denouncing their allegiance and expressing how these Greek organizations are against god, occultist etc.
At least it got the conversation going and viral so that people can really know what they’re getting into.
True, they're singling her out. She has the right to quit within a day if she likes. She shouldn't get punished 4 it!
Say it louder!!!!
Sooo you’re nationless? I’m genuinely curious?
I don’t pledge allegiance to the American flag bcuz it’s a lie, there’s never been liberty and justice for all.
I was never into sororities because I ain't doing all that stuff required. Not to mention the money needed to spend. That's a lot. Its too much.
Exactly like why people even join stuff like that?? Beyond me lol
Exactly. It’s like a cult.
I agree
Glad you didn’t join neither

‼️‼️‼️
That’s the same as getting a job that you really want, but then realizing you don’t like it and wanted to quit. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Exactly!!! So many decisions I've made even after research and then after I'm like nah this ain't it! lol Betrer ti not waste time
I cannot stand a “oh you do other stuff that’s just as bad” argument… it’s pathetic. I’m all for accountability but when people find ways to justify they bs or keep others from pursuing their own journey it makes me cringe
Right like miss girl just because people do those things doesn’t excuse what y’all are doing ?
The same people that scolded Diddy for seeing the video of him beating and stomping Cassie are the same ones agreeing that hazing is needed to be apart of orgs…. It’s asinine… it becomes spiritual when you feel like you have to do ANYTHING to join this org. Getting hazed, spit on , beat on, asked to eat stuff you can’t see, being in dark rooms and chanting…. There are so many lost Greek members. If you signed your name in a book, Ethel taught you witchcraft. Proving yourself in the worst ways to join anything is spiritual.

Your profile pic is killing me 😂
You better PREACH!!!!
Amen!! Speak sista!!

They’re heavily deceived and need prayer.
Dead body of a member…or? Need clarification cause I wasnt in Greek in college.
@@justforfunhaha69 I am referencing the rituals at funerals of organization members.
Wow! I used to want be one of those prestigious sorority girls…. But we were raised Christian so of course my mom refused

It “VERY” serious you cant worship two “MASTER” period!😌
They're exposing it in movies. It's hard not to be aware of what's going on within.

Personally in my opinion, I don’t see anything wrong with her denouncing her membership. I’m not religious so the Bible verses she was reciting went one ear out the other for me.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 THANK YOU!! You said what I wanted to say, but more eloquently lol
No
Matter how Christian you are, or whatever you believe in; you can and will make mistakes.
@@QueenChioma I totally respect it. I appreciate this reply too. I see you were solid in your opinion as well. This is an extremely touchy subject.
DST has a chant that goes “All of my love, peace, and happiness, I’m gonna give it to Delta.” 🥴 If that’s not demonic, evil, anti-Christian, I don’t know what is.

You guys are insane. Im not even Greek. But, are people not allowed to be anything but Christian?
Idol worship 🤢
However, to your point about there being good people in these orgs, the Bible literally says:
“In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
Matthew 5:45-48 NLT
*And yes, I am aware that this verse is in connection to turning the other cheek. Not taking verses out of context but again, it still speaks to the verses point of being Christ like. Be set apart, just because everyone is involved in a frat and a Christian does not mean you have to be*
I bring this verse up because Jesus says here that even pagans are kind to their friends. However, as the Bible says:
“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,”
Colossians 3:23 NKJV
Let the good you do be for the Lord but if all the good you do is credited to an org or idol, is it really good if it’s not God? Remember, God is good!! So with that being said, He knows what’s best!! I hope this comment didn’t come off harsh or brash, I mean this in the kindest way, I know tone cannot be communicated all the time through text.
You don't know what your talking because you are not a member. D9 initiation is legal. Hazing is not legal though. None of the orgs are required to discuss the orgs because they are secret societies. It's nothing wrong with being a secret society, because it's our business no one else's.

Nothing about D9 (to an outsider) screams "this is acceptable for Christians," so it does call into question what all was said that made her finally decide this wasn't best for her.
Hi soror! Thank you for this! People in the comments simply don’t understand that you can be a part of this organization while also being a Christian.
@@jaidasimone_I'm a member of a D9 organization. I can assure you we are NOT worshipping Greek Gods are treating the organization as a God. We don't engage in seances, bl00d oaths or anything remotely close. The most controversial thing we do at our meetings, luncheons, etc. is talk about who's chairing the next service project or fundraiser and how many scholarships can we give out to students in need. Folks be tripping with these cult/conspiracy theories. It's laughable. 😂😂😂
@@jaidasimone_ i took an oath to be an active member in my sorority. I didn’t take an oath to any God besides Jesus Christ. We aren’t worshipping Greek Gods or any other Gods. I wish that narrative would go away.
If we are so proud of being black why do we follow Greek Goddesses and not Yoruba Goddesses Smfh. The ancestors are looking at yall crazy.
Sighs 🙃
I just have to be fair ✨
Thanks for your comment!

You cannot serve two Gods, Greeks specially idolized and worshipped false gods, these Greek organizations literally use Greek mofits for their own purposes.
My point exactly. #stampthat
I didn’t think they were doing rituals, but now it makes so much sense that they are. No one else is disturbed by that??
I've seen a lot of videos of black women denouncing their Greek organizations saying they are evil and satanic. What I have noticed is the yt folks aren't doing the same. If they leave they usually don't note religious reasons.why is it only black folks claiming religious reasons? This is an interesting topic for sure.
Maybe because some people just aren’t as serious about their faith? There are a lot of lukewarm Christians/Muslims, etc. that don’t care as much about pleasing God and obeying His commands.
@@myaalexis5382 right, these sororities literally have origin in greek philosophy and their Gods and well as freemasonry, what’s there not to get ?
Historically, no disrespect, white ppl are usually not that SPIRITUAL as they are religious. They may follow a religion but they don’t necessarily grasp the spiritual ramifications of a lot of ish that they do. How else would their forefathers have been able to completely obliterate groups of ppl with not one empathetic bone in their body….
So white people are the standard?
I thought the white Greek ends after college
I don’t agree about the NDA, it’s a sorority for Christ’s sake, not the Secret Service or FBI😒
I know my dissertation was long, my apologies 😅
As a Christian Woman, I commend Zora for getting out from among them! There is so much that could be stated however, I will simply state this God is ultimate authority and has the final say! “Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven…”
Don’t get into these convents with secret societies for the sake of “brotherhood/sisterhood”.
It’s not how an individual sees it babe it’s how God sees it. Simple and plain .
Happy she spoke up. God bless and protect this young lady.
I’m proud of you!
she has the right to change your mind that’s her prerogative
Im glad to hear this is coming to light more often than it used to.
A lot of them even have to do the lil dances and stuff at their weddings.
💭
This has been a movement for a little minute.
Everything will be exposed. No matter how long it takes.
The only thing you need at judgement day is the blood of Jesus
Amen
This was very courageous of her, I’m proud of her.
But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,” 💯
I love how hazing was hardly mentioned…..a lot of psychological stuff goes on
I was never into sororities, or any of those college groups, I always respected them, because I understand why they exist, and what they meant to those who came before us, however in the year 2024, it’s a no for me. I wouldn’t want to join any of those groups, not at a PWI or HBCU. It’s very odd, with the initiations, the pledges, and OVERALL HAZINGS? I don’t see why anybody wants to act like they worship somebody just to be apart of a group.
So people don't research before they join?
Good to see people are no longer drinking the "kool-aid."
@@WittyOne37 yeah I can agree with that.
Well tbh I thought it was viral because of how short the timeline was
@misfitme7838 Yeah, same. It's quite remarkable that she denounced in just 30 days and I think that's where a lot of the shock and awe comes from. But then that colorism part probably does play into it too.
Or she's a beautiful girl so people noticed her more
@@chizzy-y7syes, pretty privilege.
She did the right thing. Glad she got out 30 days and protected herself and others. Period.
Covenants made in secret are often sketchy. That is why marriage, presidencies, etc. are made publicly.
PREACH 😊
Literally!!!
I know the organization you’re talking about, but I won’t say. I’m wondering if that deity oversees all of them.
It’s giving cult…
My mother never spoke about it🤔
They won’t speak on it either
