    Spot on with a Narrower Stance (moving front foot back). I tried this recently and instantly could Pump further, higher, with less fatigue. I switch back to a wider stance when riding waves.

    Salut Gwenn. Tout d’abord je tiens à te dire que tes vidéos sont super. Ton niveau n’a d’égal que ta modestie. J’ai commencé le dockstart début février et c’était aujourd’hui ma 21eme session. Je dois dire qu’après avoir connu l’euphorie de la progression, je connais aujourd’hui les déboires et la frustration de la stagnation, voire quasiment de la régression. Après avoir fait un run de 15 secondes, il y a 15 jours. Je n’arrive plus à faire que quelques mètres. Je suis découragé. J’ai l’impression que je n’arriverai jamais à comprendre comment pomper. Merci en tout cas pour tous tes conseils

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pumping up wind and in chop is significantly harder for sure! The more you can refined your technique on flat water with no wind, the better you will be able to perform in wind and chop, but it will never be easy haha! :)

    Is pumping a symmetric workout for both legs? Do you feel you need to train switch as well?

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว

      A little more on the back leg most of the time, but you can move your feet around to be more on both or centered. It would be incredible to go switch but it is a lot harder, its like walking backwards, just is not that easy to pick up. Would for sure take some training.

  • @boardmaverick
    @boardmaverick ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hey guys, is it easier to pump a longer DW board or a shorter/wider board of the same volume? I’m not particularly concerned about getting onto foil b/c I use a wing, just curious about how swing weight modulates pumping effort once on foil. Thx!

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      More volume and more weight makes pumping more challenging for sure. But the downwind boards are interesting because the foil position is so far forward that the volume behind the foil acts as counter weight, it somehow feels pretty balanced and makes the swing weight in the front kind of disappear when pumping and turning. So a 120L downwind board feels easier to pump than a 120L short and wide wing board, also because the shorter wing boards often have a foil position much more back. Hope this helps!

    Thank you for sharing your hard learned tips, you're spreading the joy. Do you shim the 1350 at the base plate to flatten the board out? My nose is always pointing down on my 1350

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! We don't shim the 1350. We use it with the SabFoil B08 board, so maybe it's because of the way your board is design?

    Salut Gwen, je me suis au dockstart il y a deux mois. Je commence à arriver à monter assez haut sur le mat et laisser glisser. Cependant, j’ai pour le moment du mal à générer de la vitesse afin de pouvoir laisser glisser derrière. J’arrive à maintenir une vitesse initiale mais difficilement à vraiment accélérer. Du coup, je fatigue au bout d’une petite minute. Auriez vous avec Damien un conseil pour arriver à générer plus de vitesse. Pour info, j’ai une FW gong curve h 4XL de 2150cm2/145cm/ratio9.8 pour 73kg. Merci pour ton retour, Adrien

    • @DamienLeroyYouTube
      @DamienLeroyYouTube  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Salut Adrien, je pense que principalement ta FW a trop de drag donc elle ne glisse pas assez et ne te permet pas de prendre de la vitesse. Je connais pas trop les FW Gong mais je dirai essaye une tailler plus petite ou un profile plus fin.

      Merci Gwen, en effet, c'est une des pistes que j'envisageais d'explorer. Ma technique également est loin d'être parfaite. Est ce que sur la descente, tu pousses essentiellement sur le pied arrière ou plutôt sur les deux avec la planche légèrement nose down ( un peu comme un squat). En tout cas, merci pour ton retour.

    Can I use aluminum foil (not just mast, but wings as well) to pump-foil and learn it, or do I need/have to use carbon foil? Also, thank you for all the videos, I learnt a lot about wing-foiling from your videos, and yours + Kitesurf College are the two sources of wing-foil technique & learning videos I believe to be best and I share whenever I can!

    • @Rocco_Kurokawa
      @Rocco_Kurokawa ปีที่แล้ว

      Where do you find full aluminum foils, I never saw that. Normally aluminium foil means mast and fuselage, and the foils are always carbon or fiberglass.
      Do you have a link to that?
      Or you plan to build it yourself?

    • @czapkofan
      @czapkofan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rocco_Kurokawa Hmmmm; I have "Allvator XXL" 2500 from Gong that I bought some 3 years ago (Oct 2019 - nearly 4 apparently!); I was always assuming and believing it is aluminium, but now that you say so, I took a look at it, and with the front already being quite worn out, what starts to show through does actually indeed look like fiberglass, not aluminium....! hmmm, now I am surprised! It looks like I don't even really know what I'm actually using throughout that time 🤔 Thank you for your answer and for making me check it! not sure if there's a way for me to further verify this, the equipment is quite old and I don't think it'll be still available with a good description on their website.

    Cheers Guys.
    Nice vid as always.
    For us game changer was narrow stance, almost like squating (burning legs 40/60).
    Play a lot around pumping frequency and power of pumping (like you said to FEEL IT) and efficient glide.
    But we are little more into build a speed (3-4pumps) and glide , then like you said pump-glide.
