Gutes video. Dann geht alles easy. Viel erfolg an Alle! 🙂
All Great tips - The best make it look 'easy'. I am hoping Pumping, Prone Foil will become there own competitive disiplines. Pump Racing could be held year round in 50 m pools.

Really nice video. - I don't really understand why you would want to set a max foil size for beginners : I learnt on 2500 for 97kg and it was easier than 2100 for the beginning. - I don't understand why you advise beginners to jump : in my experience, they learn faster and get consistent really quickly if you teach them not to jump and keep the front hand pushing at all time until the 2 feet are settled. I make the beginners make 2-5 launches with the instruction to keep the front hand in place and just trey to glide with the front hand on the board. It teaches them not to fear the weird position and it has the advantage to avoid falling back toward the dock and prevent falling in the foil for the firsts launches.
Just stumbled over this video looking for pump-foiling basics. Very pleasantly surprised when you started like 1km from my home at the kajak club down at the wholensee in berne. 🤩 Looks like there's not many excuses left now NOT TO
@@BenBeholzVlogs The dock belongs to the rowingclub... as long as they're unbothered its okay. Can't think of any other legal problems since it's all muscle powered :}
Question: What happens if you fall out in open water or in the middle of the lake? Is there any way to get back up or do you have to swim (or get picked up) in order to get back to the shore?
You did an excellent JOB. By far the easiest foils to dock start are the sabfoil 1350 and the 1150. Especially on a lake with no current or wind. Any person trying to learn MUST watch your video. It’s the easiest explanation out there. The only other thing I would ad is HOW HIGH THE DOCK SHOULD BE FROM THE WATER. And find the sweet spot of not jumping too high or bending over too low when doing the run up.
Hey, Ben. Top Video. Passt für mich super, da ich gerade anfangen möchte. Könntest du möglicherweise ein ähnliches Video über das Wingfoiling machen? Insbesondere die Materialvorschläge in diesem Video sind genial und sehr gut inszeniert.
You're one of the few guys to land front foot first on the board. Glad it's working well for you but the consensus is that one should land back foot first. Not with the full weight on the back foot of course but rather very lightly. Anyways.. keep on keeping on! 🤙

I find this instruction very easy to understand and systematic for beginners. I will apply next time. I have few questions, I push skateboards front foot always, I never been on foils. I find it hard to push with rear foot mongo on my skateboard not my thing. I’m going to try these tips with front foot placement next time. Also do you recommend a 2300cm Infinity 99 wing or a 1784cm Quantum 100 for beginner even though Quantum in pump wing? I own both and tried going back and forth but want to stick with better choice beginner set up. I also have big small tab. Been on larger for suppose better stability. I appreciate your feedback. Great instructions! Thank you. I have a question. I want to buy Takuma 1900 lol profoil hydrofoil kit, and use it in Finland on a lake without waves. Is this possible? (Maybe this is a stoopid question) I just keep thinking that maybe it is designed for only waves.
So what I am gathering from this information is that you need a low volume board? High volume is too ? Heavy ? Clunky? There is not an option to paddle to start?
I have an aluminum foil and a big board and the whole thing is very heavy and clunky and I just can't hold it easily in water. I always wonder, are people usually pump-foiling with carbon foils to have it much lighter, or is it normal for beginners as well to use regular aluminum foils?
Great, thanks! The board: wingfoilers only have normally boards with a volume of 80-110 liters, does that work? Or is it unnecessary difficult at the beginning? What volume do you recommend for beginners? What does the job? Regards, Gerrit
@@BenBeholzVlogs so what do you recommend as board/size/Liter, weigh for a 85-90 kilo person to try/start pure dock start foiling like you do? I have Foil experience from wingfoiling and efoiling....
500 attempts in and still barely making it 10meters away from the dock Very thankful for your video though, especially the specs are super helpful. Only thing I noticed (in comparison to all other pump foil gurus out there) is you land with your front foot first. Any specific reason for that?

This is very hard to answer in general. If you have too much frontfoot pressure the foil needs to go back. If you have to much backfoot pressure it needs to go to the front…
cooles Video. 🙂
That's what I'm using. Its really hard to pump. At first I thought it was my lack of experience but I've been dock starting for 10 months and it's still very exhausting. 40secs is the longest I've pumped on it. Btw it‘s more fun if you do it together with friends. Especially the first attempts on the dock are worth to be shared 😆🤘
It also helps as they can sit in the water and be a human starting dock and hold the board up for you. Its easier to learn that way :p
