Bilstein 5100s are really slept on. For 95% of folks they will be a massive improvement in drive-ability and comfort. I added some to my moms 2010 F250 several years ago and it was a night and day difference. I was so impressed that I got some for my Lexus GX470 and used it to lift it 2". Highly recommend for any fence sitters.
Bought the XL with the STX package, 6.8l v8, and the standard tranny instead of a high-trim f-150 because I wanted a stouter tow vehicle for our travel trailer. It does not disappoint. 😆
I build these trucks for a living. Its so hard not to buy the exact truck you have, ive been itching to upgrade to the XL off road f250 ever since we started building them. Its a shame that i bought a new f150 right before these came out. Theyre perfect 👌
Some guys are ordering the Snowplow Prep/Camper Package to give their Super Duty a leveled look. However it does make for a stiffer ride without the attachments. Maybe I missed it but why did you order this package? If you hadn't there would be significant rake from the factory.
I wanted the ability to add a snow plow plus it helps with resale and I wanted the rear sway bar. I wasn’t sure how much front lift it would add but not surprised. That stiffer front end helps with steering.
@cabin view ventures. You might want to look into replacing the front passenger wheel hub. It might keep your front axles rotating even when you are not in 4 wheel drive. Replacing that hub will free up some rotating mass and should extend the life of the front axle and mpgs.
@@cabinviewventures not a issue but I believe your front passenger hub is a fake one. Ford is going cheap. To test it lift the front of the truck with both front tires in the air and spin that tire. Most likely you will see the drive train spin also.
Love the build. Why not start with a 350 if you were looking for max tow/haul?
Thanks! I need 14k trailers to haul my equipment. An F350 would put me over or very close to cdl requirements in PA. An F350 regular cab would be a nice addition to the fleet!
I wish ford for put rear vents for the back seat passengers on the flip up seat in the front like dodge does. I want the vinyl seats but can’t get rear vents with vinyl. That’s the only grip I have. Plan on ordering this exact truck as yours after Christmas. Are happy with the 6.8? And do you regret not getting the 7.3?
Rear vents would be nice. It didn’t seem to be an issue though this summer. I even took this truck on our family beach trip. The a/c works great. I’m very impressed with the 6.8L. If I was upgrading I would go diesel not 7.3L. It’s like $6-7k to add the 7.3 because of the package upgrade they force you into.
@@cabinviewventures very nice, thanks for spending the time to give info and content! What’s the gas mileage unloaded so far? City/highway? Me and my wife and 2 kids are getting into camping and I was gonna use it for my daily back and forth to work and towing our 10,000 pound camper to Gatlinburg and gulf shores a few times a year. A lot cheaper to stay in a camper than rent a place to stay.
My backroads driving, we don’t have anything flat around here is 12.5 mpg. Highway is 14-15. It is getting a little better. I’m currently at 3,000 miles
FORD🔥💪😁👍💥🚀
That thing has to ride terrible with the snow plow and payload pack…
@@cabinviewventures It rides better than a Chevy with independent front suspension?
The steering on the Chevy was better due to the independent front suspension but my F250 rides way smoother. My Silverado had the Z71 off road package with the rancho shocks. They may have added to the stiff ride.
Do the headlights at night come from the top two bulbs? Just bought one and that’s all I got.
I feel the same way about all the bells and whistles. Not necessary for me. I went with a 96 F250 with a 460 for my firewood business. You got a nice truck there. Like the rear suspension upgrade as well. Can’t wait to see the look.
Those nice old trucks are hard to find.
