First, so glad you gave a shout out to my All Heart RC fam! Great running/coaching and inspirational content. Not to mention watching the kids (Cole, Haven and Evan) kill it. Second, great shoe awards. I love my Neo Vista (also a small light person). I might disagree with the worst shoe award for the NB 1080 v.13, but do agree that they are soft. Definitely a super easy/recovery day shoe for me. Keep up the great work and have fun doing it!
@@MidLifeRunner That's good to know because I've got a hundo miles on mine and I am hoping to use it for a few races this winter and spring. I've been using the Magic Speed 3 lately as my speed day shoe and I think it's a great companion, especially if you can get it on sale.
Your assessment of the Novablast 4 was perfect. I got my pair to 500 miles yesterday and during the run was thinking these could become my walking shoes. They still feel fine but the outsole is getting near the end. As for the Edge Paris, I've enjoyed it but after 16 miles it becomes too unstable for me to maintain my marathon pace. I found the Puma Deviate Elite 3 to be similar to the Edge but stable enough for a marathon.
Last year I only did my top 1 - Had I done a top 3, you would've been on my list because I found you BACK IN THE DAY! Dad's unite. I got you in 2025 my man
Another year, another edition of Rundies 🎉 . Thanks for the youtuber recommendations, I only knew of the "Hobby Jogger Elite", very nice guy. I recently found out "jogoncrago ", great channel from Australia, really enjoying his videos.
I just got the Asics Superblast 2 for Christmas yesterday. I ran 17 miles in it this morning. I have the Novablast 5 as my daily trainer and run long miles in it. The Superblast blew it away. The Superblast was "lighter" as in more foam for same weight and just allowed me to cruise at faster paces. Did a PB for half marathon.
With you on the heel (you are a little quicker but sounds like you have a similar stride) .. naturally a mid-foot to fore foot striker but when tired the hips give in a bit and the quick rear foot shuffle commences. I loved the sky Paris but knew I could not go more than 13.1/21.1 due to the skinny heel. Likely done to save weight if we look at the NB New Balance or Brooks offering which does not slim down the shoe in the rear or midfoot (Nike) they are north of 8oz in Archaic measurements. Always a give and take, it is essentially just physics and chemistry.
Agreed JBS! A heel is going to add weight but perhaps necessary weight late in the race. I am looking forward the endorphin elite v2 because that was a very aggressive and light shoe but now has more cushion in the heel. That could be the Boston pick. If not, I might try an aggressive shoe just because I really haven't done it yet
I am definitely thinking about that mount to coast. I need my shoes to give me miles.., many, many miles. the mount to coast range seems to fit that bill. Haha.., I hear you on the "elite" wording, also ..NB, in regards to the pacer, if its a racing flat, you can't charge than a takumi.., which some elites run marathons in jussayin. also .., you are gonna hit 10K.. I am gonna check out these channels
I ran in the original metaspeed sly , which has a low plate configuration. In sky plus they made it a high plate configuration and the used the edge as their new low plate configuration but it added more stack because the first Edge had a much lower stack height and was more for “5k to 10k.” When the Paris series arrived, the shoes were 95% similar with the sky having a bouncy high plate position and the edge Paris a more roll through low plate position , more vaporfly than alphafly
@@MidLifeRunner Asics web site wasn't much help. There's ms edge plus, ms edge paris, ms sky plus and ms sky paris. The plusses and the paris's are different but the the edges and skys appear to be so similar that the distinction is unclear.
orale for the algorithm as they say. i was hoping for more jokes with rundies in the title. New running hack i had six tamales an hour before running heres what happened.....
You got a shout out by Sagusu Running for his year in review as a great influencer!! Can't wait to see your interview with him
Your comment about both the SC Elite and the 1080 v13 all of a sudden made so much sense to me! And though I have both, I 100% agree.
Did not expect the Metaspeed. Also agree on the R1 being the Radiohead of running shoes… specially the “Kid A” album.
You had me at the MTC R1. That's my shoe of the year by a wide margin. BTW, looking forward to your interview with Chris. Happy New Year, Andrew. 🎉 🥳
thank you, my friend. I believe it will come out next Sunday. He's awesome and I'm glad I made his list
@MidLifeRunner Thx for the heads up. That'll be the highlight of my Sunday.

Metaspeed Edge Paris!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I have my marathon PB in that shoe so it's pure gold to me.
It's got the receipts. I am about ready to film a 200 mile review in January. Spoiler alert, it is performing just as solid as when I first got it.

@ I’ve looked around but it’s not in my size for that 90-120 on sale range . Maybe I’ll stumble into a Nordstroms one day and win the lottery
Love Connor! HobbyJoggerElite is one of my weekly watches.
Forrest!! 😂, great video 👏🏽

Goal for next year. Make it on midlife runners list 💪👏👍

Great review, and I very much appreciate the shoutout…you’re my favorite horse 🐎 if you never win a race!!

Peak Stride is a top channel
I feel like people either think New Balancs dropped BANGERS or they made consistently trash shoes in 2024
Giving the worst shoe award to the 1080 gotta be rage-/engagement bait.
The comments on my 1080 video were 50/50. It certainly fell into the love/hate category this year like the Boston 12 of 2023. Polarizing

The Tamale Ten K- here for it! No portapotties at the start , they’re all after the finish line .
Added two new channels to the mix! Thanks for the references, see you in 2025.
…but I know what love is 😂
Im just here for the 1080 v13 hate
