    Great video. I just replaced my failed sensor today using this video in conjunction with another video from MOKWHEEL changing their torque sensor. I ran into the same surprise with ripping the wire while removing the sensor. *if anyone decides to DIY this sensor, at least on the level.2, examine the replacement sensor first! Do your best to understand the steps needed and configuration so u don’t damage the new sensor. One end (left pedal side) is to be screwed in first by itself without the sensor, THEN u line up the sensor wire with the thru-hole on the bottom of the frame and feed it thru. It might require some adjustment before tightening. Also, I made it so much easier to flip the bike upside down during the process. Idk if that made sense but this video took my anxiety away, thank u for the info! My local bike shops said it could take weeks to see my bike or they straight up said “no”. It took me about an hour of paying slow working. All the tools I needed were in a Spin Doctor bike tool kit.

      Hi Uratasan,
      Which Spin doctor tool kit did you use exactly? I'm planning to buy one. Thank you 🙏

      @@Am0ni4k the exact one I have is the Spin Doctor Essential Bicycle Tool Kit. Has 18 pieces in the kit. I can’t remember if I used any other tools outside of the kit. Currently unavailable on Amazon (as I’m writing this). I’m seeing it available online for about $50. Cheers

    Bro my torque sensor just stopped working, and as far as I checked no broken wires and everything plugged in.

      Maybe a controller issue? They sometimes can miss reading the signal from the sensor as it rotates.

    The wires are cut because you removed the left ring first. The body of the sensor is held in place by the left ring... Ask me how I know lol, I did the same thing. I cant say it's the same for all T-sensors, but at least for these ones you need to remove the chain ring side, than pull out the sensor. You actually don't need to remove the left ring at all unless the new sensor requires it.

      Thanks for the comment, funny that we both have broken some torque sensors!

    Awesome video. Unfortunately I didn't see this first, as I did the same and destroyed the wiring. I tried to research a replacement, but the part number on the sensor doesn't seem to help. Where did you get your replacement part? If you have a website I can go to order one, It would be greatly appreciated!

      For the Torque sensors the best thing I can recommend is buying straight from Aventon, for size, sensor type, and fitment etc.

    Which direction did you say to turn the bottom bracket tool to loosen?

    • @chargedecycles
      @chargedecycles  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When removing the bottom bracket you will "loosen" the nuts the same direction the pedals rotate. So left side will rotate left to loosen and Right side will rotate right to loosen

    Do you know of any noted differences in replacing the bottom bracket on a Level 1 versus the Level 2 you showed in your video?

    • @chargedecycles
      @chargedecycles  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I believe the Level 1 came with a cadence sensor, I would imagine that the sensor would bolt right up to a level one no problem as the frames did not change.

    Can I replace my cadence sensor with a torque sensor on the Aventon?

    • @chargedecycles
      @chargedecycles  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The short answer is yes, however most likely you will have to replace the controller as well. I am not sure if Aventons gen.1 controllers are able to process the cadence sensor. Aventon went to a torque sensor with their 2.0 lineup of bikes. Hope this helps

      Yes, I done that on my AA1.0, Watch my post on Aventon owners group, Make sure to join in. Total cost will be $278.

    Great video. I have an AVENTON Pace 500.3. Torque sensor went bad. Still under warranty. Three weeks since it went bad, still no reply from AVENTON. There service center, when calling, I get recorded message they are not taking calls. I also opened a service ticket on the service website. Still no reply on ticket. I did take the bike to an authorized AVENTON bike shop three weeks ago, but AVENTON has not replied to them either. I love the bike, and others I know have had no issues. My issue is they are un-responsive to service. I see no reason to try to buy the part from them as if they are going out of business (red flags if not servicing product or responding to issues) I don't want to give them any money and not get the torque sensor. A warranty is useless if they do not honor it and legally the cost to sue them is not worth it. The only alternative is to go a Class Action lawsuit, but if they are out of business, that won't get anywhere.
    Where can I get a replacement AVENTON Pace 500.3 Torque Sensor. I see other torque sensors that would fit (width and axle length) but would they work on the Pace 500.3? Are the Torque Sensors interchangeable as long as they are the correct widths?
    From a guy at a bike shop, I was told that the sensor must come from the manufacturer, or it wouldn't work. I doubt that and the guy could not explain why. I told him if the output from the torques sensors at the plug are standardized at as a lot of electronic components are, then the controller could use the part (may need some programming at the controller). He said he didn't know how that worked with the controller. Do not take a bike to him LOL.
    What would be the bast way to determine torque sensor compatibility for a replacement torque sensor for a PACE 500.3 or other EBIKES that use a Torque Sensor. I believe an LDS Torque Sensor BBTS1PSD-7435-36D is the part AVENTON uses for the 500.3, have not found this one I can order on-line (yet).
    Thanks in Advance.

      Sorry to hear about your torque sensor issues, I know for a fact you are not the only one with this frustration. Regarding the sensor compatibility, its not necessarily a matter of if other sensors would be compatible but more of the specific bike fitments thats the issue. I am talking about the size, connector type, and programing of the torque sensor that will be almost impossible to find due to whats available online. I unfortunately don't have a lot of solutions for you but I can say that I doubt Aventon is going out of business, rather they are so backed up with repairs and other customers having issues that they don't have parts in stock and their staff is behind. Hence the missed phone calls and contact. I can also say that I have replaced a large number of torque sensors and they are always out of stock so this doesn't surprise me. Keep trying to reach out to aventon for a replacement parts is my best advice for you at this time.
