@@WifeBeatsMeHelp Medical exam falls into two categories: Upfront Medical (We do it before the IRCC asks for it but we should have applied for a temporary visa that generates UCI), in the second case, IRCC asks us to do a medical exam. Once the medical is done by IOM & there is no problem (Might ask Sputum Test in case of abnormal Xrays), the medical status will be updated to "Pass" on IRCC portal. Now I have no idea about what kind of refuge, have you applied as a refugee or you are a refugee in Pakistan?
Thanks for your question. It is different in a way that when the medical is complete, the candidates go back. Within a few hours on the same day, if they receieve a call from IOM that you have to come tomorrow morning to do Sputum Test. It means the candidate is under suspicion of having TB, The sputum test takes 3 months, then another X-ray at IOM (after 3 months- if negative) and the candidates are sent to a pulomonologist. Then the results on CIC platform are updated and you can see. It is very time consuming. If your medical is clear (with no call for sputum test), it takes a week to update your medical status on your online portal or even less. Both Upfront or Medical request processing time are the same with the same procedure.

In Pakistan, only the chest x-rays are sent to the Phillipines. Honestly I have no idea about Ethiopia but you may ask IOM where they send the chest x-rays.@@MohammedSaidOmar

Now when i received the mail today that I have a follow-up so I’m quite confused that what they actually want to do. Is there anything wrong? I’m scared tomorrow is my follow-up checkup and i hope everything will be fine
Hi, usually a follow up email is sent if any candidate doesn't receive the call. Usually it is because of Sputum Test whose X ray is abnormal. Unfortunately, it takes almost 3 months to be completed. But nothing to be worried about it.

My Xray test was abnormal is the first try but in the second try it was normal , actually doctor told me everything while performing cray test and he recommended me to do a second xray test and it was normal in the second try. I guesss i have a sputum test tomorrow. I have searched about it, and I got to know that it is some kind of test for the lungs
@@abdullahmir4572 If your test was normal then you should not be called for the sputum test. It is only for the abnormal radiographs. Just hope for the best as I don't think so that they are calling you for the sputum test as your second x ray is normal. Don't worry, be there and get the info.

I thought there would be something big but I had some infection which was cured so Doctor advised me to be treated from Shifaaaaa so I completed my medication for two weeks and when I submitted the certificate to international organisation of migration, my doctor told that everything is okay. You don’t have any problem and this will be submitted to Canadian government and in one or two days and you will receive a mail, but it’s been two weeks that I haven’t received any email. What should I do? Should I wait? Because Doctor said that everything was fine every test is okay, now you have the certificate which will clear the issue and your IOM will be cleared but I haven’t received any calls or mail till now!
Usually such follow-ups are because of abnormal chest x-rays. But many candidates are asked for a second x-ray the very next day and they are declared cleared.@@abdullahmir4572
Can someone with healed tuberculosis pass the medical exam ? If possible old scars show on X-ray and additional test is required, and sputum test result come out negative.
If a candidate with any past history of TB and completely healed, he or she will have to do X-ray. If the scars show on the radiographs, the sputum test is must (2 months). If the result comes out negative, the candidate will pass the exam.
Regarding my friend's case, they just asked him to read "Reading Chart". Basically they are more after to diagnose any contagious disease, e.g. TB test etc.

Hi Imran, don't worry, it will be updated soon. If all the medical reports were fine and you didn't receive any call for abnormal radiographs (X-ray) / or any other issue then it should not be any problem. One thing I just want to ask why did they mention about the blood reports will be updated because if there is any problem in the reports, they call on the same day. Anyway, wait for one more week. I am just afraid even if you call to IOM, they will simply tell you that we have already sent to IRCC,, if this is the case, then just wait, it will be updated soon. IRCC is usually taking time due to which many students apply for extension.

Will you get any problems in your application? As in not passed if you smoke?
Please my doctor only specify I take a urinalysis test without a blood test.
Sorry but I don't understand it completely. You personal physicial or IOM doctor? Blood and urine samples both are taken by IOM physicians.

For Canada, UK (TB Test), only IOM can conduct the medical exam, not the other hospitals.

Actually IOM never contacts for medical. it is IRCC who sends a message for medical. You may do Medical (upfront) but better to wait for IRCC message.
