I saw the Yankees live....he got a chance to be " Ted" believe me. He did quite a few of the old Nuge songs. They also did a lot of Styx and Night Ranger stuff...great freaking concert.
I saw these guys live. One of the best concert experiences ever! They played Styx, Night Ranger, Ted Nugent and of course their own tunes. What a lineup!
They tried, but Ted wouldn't do it because he didn't want to tour anymore so Jack and Tommy would not play as Damn Yankees without him so that's why they make Shaw Blades
@Durian Durian Mo-ron... Sexist? Oh cause they're guys that like girls and write songs about girls, back then that was popular, also it still works and remains relevant. Grow up, sorry rock and roll hurt your precious feelings
Unfortunately they did write it..its not west in world... it's just the world will be no poorer without Damn Yankees it's just a fact they're a great throwback to a time when record company locked together bands in order to wring every last dime this was good music to listen to at a baseball game inline 4 hot dogs..or at local fire co. County fair.. It's nothing deep..or canonically important in anyway... best compliment you can give them is that it's harmless Also may be the most absolute statement. People wanting new stuff not recycled Ted Nugent over playing his guitar parts and trying to make Crazy Cat Scratch Fever faces during ballads...looking like a grinning fool desperately importing emotion into a song where has no place... now if you've read this far here's the payoff... in the end it's all beautiful in the end I'll probably end up smiling as I hear take me higher as I get on the ferris wheel and remember that we all just took it a little too seriously... and I'll actually quietly be thankful that they existed until you hear Ted Nugent talk and crack jokes about Kurt Cobain suicide and then I guess go back too to the mean-spirited jealous hacks that they were... and believe me if anyone were allowed to tell the truth I'm pretty sure they would have told you they hate Ted Nugent
They were paid by their label to go away, unfortunately they were a power band that was put together too late and the grunge scene totally obliterated their genre. I am not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying the labels put their money where the fans were going.
Hell yeah! With what I know about computers and hacking now I could take over the world! Metallica, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead, Exodus .........................
Damn Yankees was a combination of the best of what made Rock so good during this time. Great vocals, guitars (not synthesizers) and good lyrics. Wish they had stayed together longer but I'm thankful for what they gave us!
neil watson Nick Blades (The Nightranger guy) wasn't even part of the original plan. Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw had been batting around the idea of doing something together for several years prior. And when they finally got together at Tommy's house Nick just kinda showed up and asked if he could get in on it too. I'm glad they let him on board.
A very happy 67th Birthday Jack Martin Blades. April 24, 1954 Palm Desert, CA.. Thanks for being a big part of two of my favorite bands.. Night Ranger (which I seen live in Denver) and Damn Yankees..
So rare to see a band with that much talent, three great singers and guitar players before everything was auto tuned over dubbed to within an inch of it's life. Ted may have said some controversial things but I admire him for having the balls to speak his mind.
And do you admire the fact he shit his pants for five days and didn't change his clothes to avoid being drafted in the Vietnam war?? Balls? He doesn't have any balls.
Finn MacCool The subjects of this post are Damn Yankees and Ted Nugent. My comment is with regard to Ted Nugent. If you find it necessary to stray from the topic at hand, how about we add chump and his "bone spurs." The spurs that would magically disappear when he played sports, but suddenly attack when it came to serving his country.
I really truly love these guys, what a kick ass rock n roll band. I also noticed that every rock n roll cliché from my high school days in the 80's is in this video, still love it!
Music when singers could sing guitar players could play in sync with the singer and drummers were awesome. It all sounded so good together. I am still a rocker in my 50's but this was the best era of rock n roll.
The greatest decade for rock n roll people....and I for 1 was a front row fanatic at all the greatest shows anywhere in the great state of OHIO! (and a few in Va. & Ca.) From 1978 till now....and that covers a lot of miles!
I sure wish they had stayed together. Great combination. But then...Tommy wouldn't be back with STYX.....Nobody can do the songs he does with STYX but him!
I love JY too....but Tommy is fun to watch..they all are. They meaning Styx...all smile at the fans and they smile at each other like they like playing for the fans and enjoy making music with each other!
Damn Yankees, so underrated. These guys knew how to do it right and they did it well.
Seriously?
Underrated ? These guys are the best at what they do
They were legends before they formed this band. I think the music industry didn’t get their way with them, they wouldn’t sell out to them.

Damn Yankees was a dream band !
How Nugent sounds if he just plays guitar, one of the greats
Believe you me he put on a mind-blowing show's back in the day went to most in Michigan for years he's a serious headbanging crazy man
I saw the Yankees live....he got a chance to be " Ted" believe me. He did quite a few of the old Nuge songs. They also did a lot of Styx and Night Ranger stuff...great freaking concert.
@@stevepouillon3562 Motor City Madman...
@@stevepouillon3562whiplash bash hell yeah
@ayepeople1576 absolutely 💯 I had to have seen him easy 10x at least including multiple times with Damn Yankees always a great time.
Jack Blade's and Tommy Shaw's voices are amazing together!
Night Ranger mixed with Styx combined with Lynard Skynard
and add a “tiny” dash of the Motor City Madman
Legendary. Timeless too.
We have a CD of them singing cover songs together. We like it.
Shaw and Blades. I think.
I saw these guys live. One of the best concert experiences ever! They played Styx, Night Ranger, Ted Nugent and of course their own tunes. What a lineup!
Yes your it did came 90 but very great song
i saw them too.. my first concert..
Seeing Ted shit all over the night ranger solos would have pissed me off.
he did that?@@grilledspaghetti
@@grilledspaghetti Your comment corrolates with your youtube handle.
Eighties rock on forever ❤
Will somebody please make a time machine so we can go back and do it again...I miss those days of real rock...
If you do, take me please!
one of the greatest intros of all time! when Tommy comes in i just .......
I agree a great intro and a kick-ass song, what a great debut album that was,saw them on their first tour and they absolutely killed it
10000 likes
100000 /likeß
Their harmonies kicked ass.
Well, Tommy Shaw IS in Styx!
That's right
Jack Blades kicking ass.
Heck yeah
If they left the guitars and drums at home, they could still sing Au-cappella like a 5 person choir, on a street corner
and sound good : )
Damn Yankees needs a reunion tour!!
Go see Night Ranger they play Damn Yankees least they have been when Tommy Shaw with em & I'm pretty sure he's pretty much a permanent band member now
They really do need to do one
I thought they had talked of it or Tommy Shaw was asked of it. Can't remember.
They tried, but Ted wouldn't do it because he didn't want to tour anymore so Jack and Tommy would not play as Damn Yankees without him so that's why they make Shaw Blades
Damn Right!!🎉🎉🎯🎯❤
I wish these fellas would get back together and play again. Amazing music!
Would be great, but unfortunately they aren't able to.
I saw Jack when he was with Night Ranger in concert and he still sounds great
uncle ted looks like he is on vacation never stressed his talent at all
This still holds up against it all after 30 years
Is it just me or were the 80s the greatest decade?
Who said this came out in the '80s?
Try 1990
Yeah but this is definitely 80s rock.
The song was released in 1990, whether you believe it or not.
Glen Tannehill
Released February 22, 1990
Recorded A&M Studios, Hollywood, and Can-Am Studios, Tarzana, California, 1989-90
These guys wrote their music. And had real vocals and knew and could play their instruments .. real musicians then ..
@Durian Durian
Mo-ron...
Sexist? Oh cause they're guys that like girls and write songs about girls, back then that was popular, also it still works and remains relevant. Grow up, sorry rock and roll hurt your precious feelings

@@johnscott6481 You sound so fucking boring, void of emotion.
Damn Yankees and Firehouse 2 of the most underrated and underappreciated bands of the early 90s yet two of the most talented/ songs of nostalgia
I had the opportunity to see both bands live when I was a teenager. They were at the Bismarck Civic Center! The good old days!! Take me back!
They were paid by their label to go away, unfortunately they were a power band that was put together too late and the grunge scene totally obliterated their genre.
I am not disagreeing with you. I'm just saying the labels put their money where the fans were going.
I saw them both open for Poison!!!
Can you imagine a reunion tour plus all the other hits they could tap into from their own catalogs? 👍
Would be awesome
I’d buy tickets instantly
Long thought Styx, Night Ranger, and Nuge should tour and the encore should be a Damn Yankees set.
Obviously you never heard them live they play night ranger songs Styx and Nugent were do you live
They already do minus the drummer who died
Funny how everyone says this is the 80s but this was released in the 90’s right before grunge took over. But, I get it has that 80s sound. Great tune!
This song was released in 1989...
Christiane Bybee This song was released in 1990…
You are so right thank you for noticing men Nugent Tommy Shaw the whole bands Drake I give the whole list you want me to
Ted Nugent Tommy Shaw Night Ranger hug you love you guys
It was recorded in 89 but officially released in 90 before all that terrible grunge that killed this music took over
Awesome band
Nobody makes music like this anymore!
Sad, but true. This was about the time most artist stopped caring about what kind of music they put their names on...just spit out songs for $$$.
hard to record your slamming tunes when you are in jail for statutory rape

Absolutely 💯 love the 80s best music ever I'm 56
I'm homesick and I'm going back to the 80's anyone wanna come 😪
Im coming with you!!!
Add me to the list, leg warmers and all

Metallica, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead, Exodus .........................
Yes!
Sure, I'll drop you off on the way to the 50s, 60s and 70s.
I love how they are like having the best time of their life and they don't care they are showing that they are having fun anyone else agree
Back when music was great!!!!! Those were the days!!!!!!!!
Ted Nugent looks actually happy. I don't think I've ever seen that.
I certainly agree
TED did it again.. Melted a guitar....Mr. Nugent we salute you...
Most supergroups fail. But, damn, this one nailed it! This combination of talents was perfect! Uncle Ted's best work ever.
They were in their 40's. At the peak of Hair metal they played it all out .... Respect
No auto tune just pure talent
Damn Yankees was a combination of the best of what made Rock so good during this time. Great vocals, guitars (not synthesizers) and good lyrics. Wish they had stayed together longer but I'm thankful for what they gave us!
Supergroups of the late 80’s, early 90’s!
Saw them back in 92 still one of the best shows I've seen!
I saw them I believe 92 or 93 in Joplin Missouri. Best concert ever.
This is the Night Ranger Style/Influence of Damn Yankees. I think what made them good was the various facets of style they all brought to the table
neil watson Nick Blades (The Nightranger guy) wasn't even part of the original plan. Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw had been batting around the idea of doing something together for several years prior. And when they finally got together at Tommy's house Nick just kinda showed up and asked if he could get in on it too. I'm glad they let him on board.
His name is Jack....Jack Blades!
My bad! Thanks for the correction.
What an incredible band this was. A combo of Night Ranger and StyX and Ted
That drummer knows how to kill it. Damn good man.

That's fine. Ted was never all there. Waaaaay too many drugs in the 70s.
uncle Ted
Overdubbing was a thing in the 80s tho
2021. Coming of age...
They just look like they are having a great time
A masterpiece of a song!
My God what a rocking ass song! Ted was a guitar master! He makes that bird sing
Man, if I could have one wish it would be to bring music like this back
Saw Damn Yankees in August of '91 in Dallas; great concert! (Paired with Bad Company)
One of the greatest "Feel Good" songs of all time!
I mean what a great little ditty timeless!
This is what you get when the best of the best get together and create the best music ever.
Smile when you say Damn Yankees!
I really truly love these guys, what a kick ass rock n roll band. I also noticed that every rock n roll cliché from my high school days in the 80's is in this video, still love it!
Born in 71, love 70 80s music❤

One of my favorite songs!!!
Heck yes!!!
I can hear uncle Ted saying.. lets give them a rock video boys ! look at the fun they are having !Boy do i miss these times.
80s were the greatest!!!!!
Loving this. Dont get bands like this now that can do close harmonies
The last of the 80s became the super group of the 90s never to beast surpass this is the last you got of that time and of that era
Summer reunion for these guys be amazing. I am only 19 and love all these classic rock bands
Love this song and band. Absolutely fabulous 🤩😊
God you got to love these guys they were absolutely great
Sounds good your all very accomplished musicain
When it comes to super groups this is one of the better ones by Far.
The 80s were the best for music
All that talent, all those egos.....man they were good together.....Super group!
I still get the chills... and memories come flooding back. I wish I could go there too!
Music when singers could sing guitar players could play in sync with the singer and drummers were awesome. It all sounded so good together. I am still a rocker in my 50's but this was the best era of rock n roll.
Such a powerful Nugent solo... This song is great.
Damn Yankees, Bad English and Badlands....all in 12 months. Those were the days.......
They were excellent in concert excellent❤❤
That music at that time can't be touched today and still absolutely rules. And today they can't even challenge it. Music champions forever. 👍
I agree with you . They were awesome . I grew up in the 80s
One of the best groups ever to step foot on earth.
Best super group ever. Sad they were paid off to quit recording..
if you were not alive during this time period i'm sorry tuff luck
Nashville tuning!! Whole octave up ! Crazy tight strings!
Then pinch the diads ..
Jack Blades iz da man. A very good friend and a special human being!!
Jack blades is a very hard working family man you all know ow him as a rock star to me he's only a friend
One of the best combinations of musicians, singers and song writers ever. Incredibly good. What happened?
I wish there were still bands like this around today
How lucky I am growing up in the 80s 90s🥰
This is the best group ever put together. I think they should rejoin and start again and keep going
Uncle Ted is such a badass
What an experience it must have been for this drummer to get to play with these All Stars. I wish this band would've made more music.
Agreed. Drummer, Michael Cartellone,, has been playing with Lynyrd Skynyrd since 1999.
Dang I miss the 80's early 90's beam me back scotty...🤭

What a group.........so lucky to have seen them live in 1990
This really is an Excellent Song
Blades and Shaw!!!! SO rad! Good lord, who is that girl???
I sure wish they had stayed together. Great combination. But then...Tommy wouldn't be back with STYX.....Nobody can do the songs he does with STYX but him!
Totally AGREE!!
I love JY too....but Tommy is fun to watch..they all are. They meaning Styx...all smile at the fans and they smile at each other
like they like playing for the fans and enjoy making music with each other!
But Styx didn't use Tommy vocals as well
nuge is such a egotist he had
to implode and left shaw and blades to move onto more stable pastures
I'd rather have these guys vs styx
Brings back some awesome memories
