The best bike in the 500 range. Easier to get on with than the R and lighter, lower and more fun than the NX but still with a big tank, quite unusual for a small naked.
An excellent bike that is great fun at legal speeds. That said, I preferred the look of the outgoing CB 500, with the gold forks and bronze engine detailing, it looked great.. The new hornet variant looks plainer though it does have a better instrument disolay. Great review as usual! Cheers , Mike.
As the weather changes (quickly) from summer (assuming we had one, blink and you missed it) to winter, bypassing autumn, it's good to see a review on what must be one of the most versatile bikes on the market. The only thing that would stop me buying one of these machines would be the existence of its bigger brother the NC750X which of course comes with the extremely useful 'frunk'. Great review. Now where are my winter gloves....
Hi Mark , I have the exact same bike collected in March , I’ve been really pleased with it , don’t have a problem fueling the machine but have noticed that once I’ve filled her up after around 250/300 kilometers fuel gauge drops to one block remaining so you go and fill up and you put around 8 litres in , it has a 17.2 litre tank so the gauge not that accurate but you just get used to it . First service was €80 all good done a little over 2000 kilometers now , am almost 55 and been riding motorcycle since school boy live in the Canary Islands this bike is perfect for all rider capabilities and all types of rider requirements commuting or have a blast on the twisties at weekends, look forward to your second review enjoy yourself and keep safe .
Nice clear format Mark 👍 I rode one as a courtesy is was brilliant (and so cheap to run), you have to be so careful with these ubiquitous speed cameras most of the time it's all the bike you need.
Cannot wait to hear what you think about it. I am currently cross shopping this and the Kawasaki Z500 as a first bike. On paper both look great to learn on.
The CF Moto 450 NK is on sale in my neighborhood. I bought a salvaged Kawasaki Z 400. I am love how light it is compared to the Honda 500 F. Both are really good Bikes. if you’re gonna be using it in the city Or densely populated areas, go for a Kawasaki
G'day Mark, Honda the best motorcycle manufacturer from Japan, you can trust that if you buy one of their bike it will be reliable and a pleasure to ride, bit pricey compared to others but in life you get what you paid for, great review, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
I had Suzuki Yamaha Ducati and now i have a Benelli. but this Honda is me dream bike. with some luck. it will be mine. when i don't know. time will tell. Thank you very much for the video 😀

I can see how this could confuse someone not from our shores but we all keep learning new things until they put a lid over our face. Cheers Rab
A bit like the old 500F, really, as you allude to, Mark. But why not? I'd rather have a CL500, but these are good. Does it still have the useful underseat storage like the F did? [Edit: yes, it does]. The dash acts as a very small flyscreen. Excellent bike and review. Nick
Having the cb500f 23 plate, has not been a great experience really. Overbraked and very snatch at the front. Mine broke down at 310 miles. Great fuel economy for sure, but engine can be lumpy at times. This will be my last Honda, having had both the f and x. I ride the bike every day, and looking at it always puts a smile on my face, but something else will replace her next year.
@@markpulling12 Hi Mark. Thanks very much for your detailed walk around of this bike. I kind of regret it hasn't a 270 crank like the CFMOTO, though you did say this Honda's motor is particularly smooth. The build quality, fit and finish looks first rate though I would want to fit a rear hugger and an extender to the front guard (it rains a lot on the biggish green island to your west). I'd have a red one I think! I look forward to your real world riding assessment in a week or two. Cheers Rab in Belfast
I was pleasantly surprised that the bike has a centerstand, until I heard that it doesn't come as standard. Why, Honda? Why do we have to pay extra for something as basic as a centerstand on a chain drive bike? Royal Enfield can give their bikes a centerstand, but the world's biggest motorcycle manufacturer can't? That's just greedy.
At least a stand is available, many naked bikes don’t even have it as an option. Not everyone wants or needs one, and for those that want one, they can pay a pretty small amount to add one. Every bike made today is built to a specific price, down to the last nut and bolt. Blame the accountants.
Hi Mark, I have one just like this, would you comment on refuelling during your review, I find it’s unnecessarily awkward and consequently slow to fill, the aperture being cluttered. Thank you 👍

It is a big tank for a naked.
It"s the heaviest in class. Engine is 15 year old, heavy, and the frame too. But still good, reliable but boring engine.

Thanks mark! Looking forward to your next review on this Bike!!

Hello from 🇲🇾 👋🏻
Looking forward to the full review Mark, and interested in your thoughts compared to the CFMoto 450NK 🤔
Hi Colin both bikes are great...but the cfmoto is unbelievable value at the moment and it's engine is fantastic 😊

@@MV-XD2 And they can overcharge for centre stands when they offer them as an aftermarket accessory.
Honda does not supply a rear hugger just like the 750 hornet, so all the road muck and salt gets thrown into the rear shock absorber. Not good 👎
Yep, had to buy a Puig rear hugger for my 750 Hornet.
