I found your video very useful for teaching my 3 yr old. Just wanted to understand that if I want to explain something ling long vowel sound eg: ee ea as shown in your presentation. How can i make her understand which spelling to use where. I mean she asked me why are we not using ee in reading.
Hi Kusum, thank you for watching and finding the video useful for teaching your little one! Explaining long vowel sounds like "ee" and "ea" to a 3-year-old can be fun. You can try using simple examples and visuals, like showing a picture of a bee for "ee" and a cup of tea for "ea," then gradually introduce words with those spellings. It's important to note that there's no strict rule dictating when to use "ee" or "ea" spellings in words, so encourage her to notice patterns while reading together. Making it a playful learning experience will surely help her grasp it better!
Hi Ashwaq, thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the steps helpful for learning and teaching phonics. If you have any more questions or need further guidance, feel free to ask😊
Hi John, this is a reading program for kids and we have both American and British English version of the sounds. Just wanna make sure that if you are interested in a reading program for kids or are you looking for an online class on American accent for adults before sharing further details regarding our program.
Hi Ranjana, you're very welcome! I appreciate your kind words. I currently don't offer live classes on TH-cam, but I do have a step-by-step course for parents to teach kids to read. You can check it out here: www.lurnsmart.com/phonics. For the worksheets, please let me know what specific issues you're facing, and I'll do my best to assist you with that.
While phonics is a great tool to kickstart a child's reading journey, it does have its limitations. Some words, like 'your,' don't follow typical phonics rules and are considered irregular sight words. If you're interested in learning more about how to teach these words effectively, I recommend checking out these helpful videos: th-cam.com/video/lDaAKniJRnE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mTo1eEtrSSjhG_zF ; th-cam.com/video/LAi05ZymCCM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s-dHi6Yu1Gh2O9Vo Hope you find them useful! ❤️
I always try to teach my kid with phonics.some time I become confused with the sound of (e ,I) and(c,k) because e and I has a some sound and c,k the same phonics sound Could you solve my problem please
Hi Gulshan, absolutely! Teaching phonics can indeed be challenging, especially with similar sounds like 'e' and 'i', and 'c' and 'k'. For 'e' and 'i', remember 'e' as in 'egg' and 'i' as in 'igloo'. Regarding 'c' and 'k', generally both make the 'k' sound, except when 'c' is followed by 'e', 'i', or 'y', where it makes a soft sound as in 'ceiling' or 'city'. If you're teaching your child to read at home, I recommend familiarizing yourself with phonics first to make it easier. If you're interested, you can explore our LURN Phonics curriculum, a step-by-step approach to help kids learn to read using phonics. Here's the link: lurnsmart.com/phonics. Keep up the great work teaching your child phonics! Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions ❤️
Hello Srinath, I'm glad you found the video helpful. I'll definitely consider your request for a video on words with short 'a' and 'e' sounds. Stay tuned for future uploads!
Sure! This is because in phonics we have something called the soft G Rule and it refers to the sound that the letter "g" makes when it comes before the letters "e," "i," or "y." Instead of making its usual hard sound (like in "go" or "gap"), the letter "g" in these cases makes a softer sound, like the "j" sound in "giant" or "gem." It's important to note that phonics rules can have exceptions, so there may be variations. Hope this clarifies things for you 🤗😍
Hi Tereza, I appreciate your interest in helping your son with phonics and reading. While I'm not able to conduct online classes, I do have a step-by-step course for parents to teach kids to read. If that is something that you are looking for, you can learn more about our program here: www.lurnsmart.com/phonics. Feel free to ask if you have any questions, would be happy to answer!
Hi, thanks for reaching out! You can introduce digraph sounds to your child once they have achieved proficiency in the 26 letter sounds and can seamlessly blend these sounds to read words of 3 or 4 letters. To lay a strong foundation, I recommend engaging in additional phonemic awareness activities. If you are looking guidance on how to help your child learn to read by spending just 10-15 mins a day, you can check out our LURN Phonics program here: www.lurnsmart.com/phonics
I'm glad to hear that you found the explanation easy to understand. If you have any more questions or need further clarification on anything, please feel free to ask ❤
Hi Lane, there are many reasons why kids find it difficult to read and spell. To help you son specifically, I need to first understand WHY he is struggling. Having said that, I suggest you do some phonemic awareness activities such as oral blending games to help him understand the concept of blending and segmenting in a fun way. I have some videos on this playlist like blending tips, phonemic awareness games that you might find useful: th-cam.com/video/vCT3wa4zEWk/w-d-xo.html . Feel free to reach out of you have any questions ;) Would be happy to help.
Absolutely! While 'au' and 'or' might sound alike, they actually represent distinct vowel sounds in English. In British English, the 'r' is often not pronounced, affecting the pronunciation of words like 'more.' On the other hand, in American English, the 'r' is prominent, influencing the pronunciation of words like 'more.' So, while they might seem similar, these differences in pronunciation can place them in separate phonetic groups. Keep practicing, and you'll start to pick up on these subtle nuances!

Love From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Hi Mobashshirul, thank you for watching! It's truly amazing how we can connect across the globe.
My son is 7 years old but still find it difficult to spell ànd sound the letters and also find it hard to read.

Hello ma'am
Though the words aeroplane and apple start with the same letter why does the sound differ ma'am?
Any difference between the /au/ and /or/ sound. They sound the same and you put them In different groups
