I have social anxiety and this video made me feel very calm. I think I would really enjoy that hotel, the restaurant and that store where you don't have to talk with anyone to pay. It's like a dream come true!
i was thinking the same. my social anxiety is terrible, and this video seemed like heaven.
Same ❤
I wish we had restaurants like this here in Australia. Sometimes you just want to go eat out but embarrassing to eat alone OR you just don’t feel like talking to other people. This is perfect.
If you live in/near Melbourne, there's a restaurant on Swanston St at Bourke St - Superhiro. There are people downstairs, but if you ask to go upstairs you'll have robot staff instead.
Thats why I love the cafeteria style restaurants, used to have one near where I live called Brothers where the food is pre made and laid out in trays, so you pretty much just point at what you want, pay and have your food in a booth which feels somewhat private.
Unfortunately they changed the whole restaurant into a regular one because me and 2 old people were the only ones eating there.
But I moved and luckily theres another similar place in my new town where I can just get the food, sit and eat. Also these places are nice because they're cheaper to begin with and you dont have to tip either.
I stayed at a Hennna Hotel in Tokyo. It was REALLY nice for the price. ¥7,200 for two people. You'd pay more than that in other first world countries for rooms 1/2 the quality The entire room was super clean. The bath was nice, too. Luckily, we had no Robohon in the room. They had a patio deck on the roof with a view of Tokyo Skytree. I'd recommend Hennna Hotel in a second.
Can you take a quick look at the reception desk without staying at the hotel or does the staff frown upon that?
That's exactly my sentiment toward the Japanese people. They were delightful hosts while I visited.
@@ShakyKeys I'm not sure what they would think. People probably do it. You can't use the elevator to upper floors without a room card and lobbies are the public face of hotels. Our hotel had a holographic dinosaur.
You took an elevator to the second floor to check in. The check-in counter was right after exiting the elevator in our case. Check-in is done by inputting things onto a screen and paying. Staff only appear if you have trouble with any part of it and push a button to call them.
Henn na Hotel. Cramming the 3 N's together just looks weird.
@@TheRandomINFJ I know. It looks hen :)
Hello from the States. Some of us would never get to see any of this in person, the Japanese culture's fascinating & intriguing would love to see it in person but this is the next best thing. Thank you for sharing such beautiful country & the cities are absolutely amazing. Had no idea they had so much technology & beauty. I had a friend move there for work & I was like what are you doing there's not much there but I was immensely wrong. There's a lot.
And they are a post apocalyptic society that bounced back after we dropped two bombs on hundreds of thousands of innocent people.
Anybody in their right minds wouldn't want to see this in person. But those not in their right minds would. God bless you Amen.
Maybe they should've won WWII, the world will be better off
@@WheeledHamster I changed my comment but maybe you’re right.
Another thought is they had to start all over again in a post apocalyptic society. Does that mean we would have had to suffer the same defeat to make the world a better place?
As a fan of green onions, the ramen made me tear up.
Great commentary, attention to details, camera skills.
Thank you for a delightful mini vacation.
I just love the Japanese culture. So respectful, clean and honest everywhere. Wish the rest of the world was like this.
It's also a dying population though since the culture has become so isolating and dependent on technology. There's some interesting docs to watch about why the younger generations just aren't having sex much anymore. It'd be an interesting experience to check out a robot hotel like this, but at the same time places like this are perpetuating Japanese ppl not interacting irl with each other.
@@mrs.h2725 Its not just japan, the internet has destroyed the younger generation’s ability to interact socially in the west. Add to that the west’s latest obsession with “gender confusion” and homosexuality, the population decline will make Japan look like bunny rabbits.
America couldn't have something like this & this cheap. It'd get torn up by overly entitled ill mannered hoodlums.
Grass is always greener on the other side. What we can see as outsiders is just the surface. Each country has its own set of problems
Japan... clean, neat, orderly, efficient, technologically marvellous, respectful, unique heritage... admirable.
Seems lonely
@@PeaceMastah What does this even mean in English? Seems lonely???
Agreed, though I could do without the noodle slurping.
@@thevcountdown9824 Like… Lonely? As in, there could be less workers/people visible in the hotel
Because they are united and love each other
Thank you for showing us the quirkiness of Osaka, I will definitely visit there with my family one day. Love your videos, keep up the good work! Greetings from Melbourne, Australia.
Thank you for sharing this! I’d be a little freaked out in that hotel, but the little talking robot (looks like a penguin) made me laugh! Tsp been a real culture shock seeing all this, so thanks for taking us with you! Probably the best travel video on TH-cam!
今回の動画は沢山笑いながら見れて綺麗な富士山も見れ、尚且つギークさんのお茶目な面も見れて、とても楽しかったです❤️
the simplicity & neatness of your videos 💯
Ah yes, I love Japan for consideration of people who go alone to places and their comfort. Always innovative and considerate.
YES, THAT'S VERY GOOD, MOST TRIPS ECT. ARE CATERING FOR 2. IT HAS STOPPED ME TRAVELLING BECAUSE OF HUGE SINGLE SUPPLIMENTS FOR A START, BUT JAPAN IS A MUST ON MY LIST.
It’s also part of why the suicide rate is so high there. Their entire society has been dehumanized. Just look at the crowds. Just crowds of masked robots. They have taken their identities away.
@@gtm624 I think it's just the loneliness, collective repressed trauma of being bombed in an act of inhumanity, and the harsh rejection faced when stepping out of norms/not living to that demand of perfection.
@@sakuyaizayoi5918 it doesn’t matter
The cause I don’t think. Because we’re at this point now. I don’t think supporting further isolation is the answer. I think that is more disabling and enabling further depression.
A soul remembers Hiroshima by Dolores Cannon is a soul shocking book. I’ve been through almost all 19 of her books. As I practice under her school and teachings in QHHT. It’s is very real and not a made up story.
But it’s not JUST in Japan it’s everywhere. But it’s highest where government control is highest.
Instead of helping people wake up, let go and grow spiritually, the exact opposite is happening.
The problem goes way beyond the physical. It’s not the restaurant owners fault for not setting up hibachi style tables where it brings people together and instead creates more isolation. They are puppets. Humans are clueless as to what’s really going on. How many can’t even give a legitimate answer to justify many things they do.
The ones that opt out early know by an inner feeling. Not necessarily a conscious thought but they know they are a slave to a higher being and don’t wish to continue. Unfortunately we don’t get out of anything and suicide is only a setback in a souls journey. It’s certainly no shortcut. But it’s up to each individual to go within and wake up and raise their internal frequency.
These cell phones and computers is ancient technology. Yet they have everyone so brainwashed with it. It’s like taking a sharpie marker drawing a line on a paper and watching a lady bug follow the line.
We don’t need cell phones to communicate. But humans have been brainwashed and programed to believe so.
It’s sad. They use humans weakest point. Fear. To control them. I see this guys vids and all the people walking down the street with masks. No identification. Like zombies. Rushing to where? And for what? They don’t even know. Can’t spend time going on anymore. But I pray for those suffering.
3:45 We stayed in Henna Hotel in Kyoto but it did not have Robohon yet. But the dinosaurs were already there, but no deserted panda.
12:13 You rode the Dotonbori Donki ferris wheel! We wanted to ride that as well but forgot about it after we saw the Hep Five ferris wheel.
15:42 The ultimate conundrum of takoyaki: best eaten when freshly made but will always burn your mouth. But a good takoyaki order is always worth the scalded tongue every time.
19:38 Robohon has the colors of a penguin.
20:06 That origami tiger is cute!
Thanks for taking us on that Donki ferris wheel ride, I've always wanted to ride it but no one would go with me.
Stay safe!
I would be SO down to go there :D
I feel like I'd be stuck walking in circles at the airport
Yes, I finally got to ride the ferris wheel that I've wanted to try for a long time haha
If i had a chance, i'll try the Hep Five ferris wheel as it stands out in the area but i haven't tried
I noticed the origami tiger after i saw your comment! Edit: You pay attention to every detail in my video😃 Thanks:)
We love what you’re doing. My wife and I try and guess when in the video you’re gonna go to a convenience store. Keep it up and dont change!
I like the idea that someone came to Osaka for a business meeting and booked Henna hotel only to find two velociraptors working the front desk, like what is going on here?
This channel is my new addiction. Love it. Japan is on my bucket list.
Wow what a super affordable room. You couldn’t even come close to that quality in the states for that price. Most of our hotels cost at least 150 a night. A 50 hotel would be gross. Japan seems like such a wonderful and advanced society.
The U.S. isn't comparable to Japan's high quality and cleanliness especially the amenities and accommodations (food wise).
That robot hotel looks super cool. Thanks for giving us a tour. Keep up the good work.
I don't like the talking robot in the room. Sorry, that thing is like an Alexa on steroids. No idea what it sees and hears. In America, people would be tossing those things out the balcony window.
I'm from England in the UK. I love watching your channel. 👏👍🇬🇧
I really like how different a culture Japan is, but still beautful and orderly at the same time.
This was sooooo chill to watch. Japan is at the very top of my bucket list so I'm highly anticipating traveling there with my child someday. The people, the culture, the adventures ugh I can't wait!! 😃😃 Thank you for the upload! You have a new subscriber. 🥰
Same! My daughter and I want to go together 😊
I’d love to see this futuristic side of world as well. ….Bummer for my son & wife 2nd year with friends group trip was cancelled again (this month at last minute, )they were so excited to visit Japan…hopefully next year.
This is a fantastic video! Very well done from all aspects.
This made me nostalgic for the time back in 2014 when I went on a solo trip to Osaka for two months. When I arrived, I learned that my bank had locked my account which meant the only money I could use was what I had converted before my trip. I had to stretch that small amount of cash for two weeks!
Eventually my bank sorted out the issue, but before that happened my vacation days consisted me walking around Osaka looking for the cheapest food once or twice a day and sleeping in large group Hostel rooms with hole in the wall beds.
Looking back, it actually wasn't that bad. In my home country, you can't walk two steps without someone putting their arm around you while they recount their life story. In Osaka, even though there were people everywhere, it felt like I was on a planet completely alone.
I am a Japanese, living in the States for 6,7 years since I was 15 (because I said fck Japanese education). Anyway, recently went to my favorite Vietnamese restaurant, BUT alone. Here the culture of eating at a restaurant alone is nonexistent and as expected, they gave me a weird look (not necessarily unwelcoming, but not comfortable one either). I love that, when I go back home, I'd go to cheap (also hella good) ramen or some sort of don restaurant. Just imagine getting into a little cozy Japanese restaurant after a day of work. Just you and yourself, and a delicious meal of your choice. No one is there to tell you anything, just you. It's an experience I'd recommend. It's just different culture, but little things like that in Japan, I enjoy it so much. Japan is a unique nation like no other for better or worse. There is whole a lot of great hidden things within, and I hope those who were born outside of Japan, get to experience some of that. Thanks for the awesome vid.
I’ve lived in America all my life, and never experienced that.. eating alone is common, because ppl have to eat; it’s not only about date nights, couples, or families- that’s absurd to even consider.
I call bs on your story.
Ppl don’t give af, you’re not important or special- everybody is basically minding their own business.
I am curious. Why do you hate Japanese education so much?
@@MidTierVillain You are for sure an American. Not really sure, tho, why you thought I thought I was important, or even relevant to you. What you say does make me think that you wish to be more important and relevant than you are.
@@nandeyanen_chiggachan you took it too literal, nothing personal..
@@MidTierVillain whatever dude
Made me laugh so many times, you and the robot, loved this, thankyou so much, amazing to watch
I love your channel for its content, but your captions make your videos twice as great and so funny. I think soon you’ll have a million subscribers!
Thanks for the fun videos as always. It's refreshing to see Robohon keep talking. It's a beautiful hotel and it's cheap, so there's no complaints.
このビデオはかっこいい!とても良いです👍
I'm in America and I love the cubicle idea for dining alone, although I don't mind seeing the server, but the ordering method is pretty neat. Also, the hotel is interesting. It would be way cooler if the room doors were electric pocket doors. The little robot, I'm afraid, would get on my nerves. Thanks for taking us around.
I truly appreciate your videos! You have a wonderful sense of humor and a lovable personality. Thank you for sharing your travel experiences & history with us. I can no longer travel long distances and this is a way I can see the world through your eyes.
So cute U turned around to check on robohan. As adorable as the robot 😍 loved the video
ロボホンが「ねぇねぇ今日はどんな一日だった?もう21時過ぎて(略)」ってお小言?言うところで切るの笑っちゃった
This was cool! A must do now 🎯
did you know that the Mori no Kuma-san song was based on an American childrens song called "The Other Day I Met a Bear"! It's quite fun how culture can spread like this!
How nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Definitely they live in 2049 haha. So great video as well, thank you! Hope I can stay there soon.
Came across your Channel the other day, I must say I never even thought about visiting Japan until I saw your vlogs. I'm now inlove with Japan 😍 definitely my next visit next year. Thanks for the great vlogs, really Love them ❤️ Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦
I love that even though the video is quiet it is not boring at all. I was panicking and laughing at the ferris wheel ride. Thanks for sharing your trips with us! Please continue making more!
Thanks for the hotel tour. I wanna go to that Ramen place where u can enjoy ur ramen at peace. Heehehe
Love your videos. Japan looks beautifully clean. I’m somewhat surprised at the number of restaurants that cater to solo diners but kind of like it. You are so appreciative of everything. That’s so refreshing. Love going on adventures with you and that you let the actual sounds be the background rather than some awful repetitive sound track. That ride was terrifying. Let us see your face one day 😁. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the information and the cute guide
Lived in Japan close to 2 years and I really enjoyed my stay there. Did not get to visit Osaka, so I'm glad you brought us on your tour. The food, my lord! Yes, the steaming ramen, the comfort food miso soup, yakitori, too. I truly love takoyaki, didn't know it was an Osaka specialty. The onigiri can be found in most 'combini' and it's a complete meal in itself. So satisfying. My favorite Japan canned coffee is BOSS, best soda for me is Calpico. That being said, 'why dinosaur' you ask? Very popular nowadays, and it's so unusual and therefore unique.
6:25 truly breathtaking scenery
I really feel homesick whenever I see any footage from Japan. It's hard to explain even tho, I'm European and I've never been there. I love your videos, keep 'em coming 🤍
The hotel looks very interesting but that Robohon has a camera in the middle of it's forehead and that's a great big NOPE from me. I'd be covering that thing up with a towel the moment I saw it.
But what bothered me most wasn't the hotel or Robohon, it was the fact that there's just so much concrete everywhere. I noticed that in Hong Kong too. Coming from Canada where even our biggest cities have trees on all the streets it just looks so barren and sterile and makes me feel so depressed.
Exactly right. Creepy meter is going off the scales.
Canadian cities look like shit, the worst cities I've ever seen in my life in regards to developed countries were in the US and Canada. Absolute nightmares, I guess they're great if you enjoy driving endlessly across interchanges and city highways.
Anyway, you're right about the camera, that's crazy.
that cute robot in the room is a creepy camera recording everything you do
Another amazing video. Its wild. Its seems so busy in Japan on the day to day but you are also isolated if you wish to be. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for this video! It's so great and informative, you are an excellent narrator and I love seeing other parts of the world from my chair!
I love traveling alone and Japan seems like the perfect place for it omg... Hope I can go one day!!
Good vid, thanks for sharing,
looks like a great place to stay.
$45 is a great deal. Very cool and thank you for sharing.
Man, I can't wait to visit Japan and visit this robo-hotel 😆😆😆😆😆
Very nice! That’s a nice bed. I’ll remember that Hen na Hotel and pick that room. I remember that Ferris wheel ride , I rode that too😊. Had the best takoyaki there too.
Man your videos keep me inspired in life
I really love your videos. I will probably never come to Japan, so thank you for sharing your way of Life 🙏
Ok now I really really want to visit Japan!!! Even though I have no idea how I will pick out my food from the store 🤣 it looks so fun
Having visited Japan in the early 2000s, my first experience at a convenience store was.... hmm, I think I have a vague idea what that is so I'll get that, and everything else was an adventure of discovery. Basically, I got a ham sandwich and a coke at the first rest stop store and after that, it was just good fun trying different things. Tokyo was definitely the closest I've come to visiting another planet, but it was a complete blast and would love to visit again 😍
How cute when u call him name Robohon. Also you’re feeling sorry to leave him alone.🥺🥺
Merci pour cette vidéo. Immersion totale. ❤
Excited to see Robohon! I first saw him in James May's Our Man in Japan series.
Henn an Hotel is pretty great actually. Really reasonable rates at pretty good accommodations. Though when I stayed at the hotel in Akasaka the front desk was out of order so regular staff had to check everyone in.
Ichiran is pretty great. Love it. If you go with a date or someone else, you can move the divider aside so you can enjoy a meal together and still feel pretty private. Or you could just keep the divider up and ignore each other.
For better or worse, Japan is really making it seem like an introvert’s paradise.
10:23 I was waiting for Tsutomu Yamazaki showing up. That ramen is quite inexpensive. I used to love thick-broth Ramen in Osaka.
Hello travelgeek, that hotel was creepy, but clean, tidy and comfortable.i would love to visit japan.going through your videos, and I think we would be very safe coming here.👍

暗闇で目が光るロボホンちょっとホラーですねw
ホラーめっちゃ苦手ですが、それはそれで面白いのでなかなか楽しそうなホテルだなと感じますね
The city is so bright and colorfull.
Seems like you can walk around all night and see everything fine.
I dozed off with YT playing and your video came on, woke up to what looked like a hotel lobby with velociraptors as receptionists. For a moment I had no idea what in the hell was going on, didn’t know if I was dreaming or if I had had a stroke or something.🙀😹
I enjoy the silent subtle humour of this :)

This was a wonderful video. I really appreciated the insight; I wish I had seen some trees but overall Japan seems hospitable.
Every hotel should have dinosaurs at check-in. That is awesome! I loved that the one had long, luxurious hair. The whole place looked really clean and was so quiet.
