  • And now for something completely different. Here it is--my Bigfoot Documentary! Join me on this solo adventure, exploring the Patterson Gimlin film site and the forestry roads of Black Creek, California, looking for Bigfoot! Northern California's Willow Creek is the capital of the Bigfoot world, and it was a dream come true to explore this place. Anyone who follows me knows I'm an obsessed hiker and backpacker, but I'm also a Bigfoot guy. The Patterson Gimlin film still stands as the best video evidence of Sasquatch in existence. In this video, I spend two days alone looking for the legendary Bigfoot. Camping on Bluff Creek was a total dream come true. Huge thank you to Ron Morehead who allowed me to use his iconic "Sierra Sounds". All credit goes to him and his team for recording the famous Bigfoot vocalizations and chatter heard in the video, as well as the "whoops".
I found a lot of inspiration in other Bigfoot channels such as ‪@MountainBeastMysteries‬ and @smalltownmonsters. Those channels both have great Bigfoot content and documentaries. Also be sure to check out @survivormanlesstroud for his "Survivorman: Bigfoot" series. Also, be sure to check out the book "The Hoopa Project" by David Paulides, which I refer to in this film.
If you're interested in looking further into the topic of Bigfoot, I recommend watching videos from Anthropologist's Dr. Jeff Meldrum and Dr. Grover Krantz, as well as Wildlife Biologist Dr. John Bindernagle.
As always, I find massive inspiration while making my other hiking and backpacking videos from the legendary Joey Coconut and his channel "My Own Frontier" which can now be found on Patreon.
Full Disclaimer: In this video, I repetitively refer to the forestry roads as "logging roads" which is incorrect. They are not logging roads.

    Siskiyou County resident here,
If someone was ever going to find a Bigfoot, you're in the right place. That part of Northern California is about as remote and off the grid as any place in this country. Big, beautiful, rugged country, and a lot of it.
There are scarier things in that neck of the woods than Bigfoot, mountain lions, and bears....

I camped 2 nights with my 12 yr old son at Aiken Creek campground near where Bluff Creek meets the Klamath River. It was October, so the colors were changing on the Bigleaf maples, vine maples, oaks and dogwoods. We hiked up around Fish Lake and just above Bluff Creek. Our imagination carried away a couple of times, but we had two moments we still talk about: including walking into a sudden wall of “smell” just as a strange gruff barking started. As you noted, the scenery was spectacular. .

You said "It's fun to believe" I agree except I know for a fact it isn't that fun encountering one. Back in January 2015, I saw one along the road here in Grant County, West Virginia around 1 a.m. at night. I will never forget the reddish orange like eye shine from my headlights. My now ex-girlfriend (who was my fiancee at the time) and I were the only vehicle on the road during a heavy snow. The closest house was maybe five miles away. The closest town was about another fifteen miles from that place. As we slowly approached the massive hairy figure crouched on the side of the road in front of us, it kept standing taller and taller. It's waist was above my driver's side window as we slowly rode by it. The creature was staring us down with a hateful look on it's somewhat hairy face. This thing was like seven to eight feet tall. Before I could even process what I saw or talk, my ex said "Was that a fucking huge monkey?" I finally said, "That was Bigfoot!" I don't care who believes us. We know what we saw. They're real.

Dude. I’ve been researching and camping for over 25 years now. Don’t ever go into a wilderness as remote as you are without a firearm, or a way to protect yourself. You got extremely lucky in my opinion that’s just crazy. I would never ever do that. Love the video, though it makes me want to really get in there and go in camp and research. And no, you don’t have to be alone to have an experience. Your chances will be higher, but more than one person at the same time have had plenty of encounters, trust me.

I remember that Eerie feeling well, if you get back in there far enough it's like a thick rainforest I remember seeing old buses, probably left there from the 60s and 70s roads completely overgrown, but I distinctly remember getting the feeling of being in a place that I shouldn't be, I never saw anything but it was eerie and definitely quiet.

U will only see them if they want you to see them.
Hint: TREAT THEM LIKE A NEIGHBOR BY INTRODUCING URSELF BEFORE ENTERING THE WOODS LETTING THEM KNOW YOU MEET THEM NO HARM. BUT KNOCKING ON TREES AND SCREAMING CAN BE A SIGN OF AGGRESSION.
GOOD LUCK AND BE CAREFUL FOR WHAT YOU WISH FOR. ONCE YOU HAVE AN ENCOUNTER U WILL NEVER BE THE SAME OR THE WAY YOU SEE THE WORLD.
But ask URSELF why are we being lied to about not only Sasquatch but many other cryptic beings. U won't get on film using the same tactics they've been doing for 20years. KNOCKING & WHOOPING .
But walking creek beds or riverways near water it's ur best chance to catch one on camera cause the water interferes with their senses or energy. GOOD LUCK BRO.

Most I’ve heard is always by waterways the stories I’ve heard are always is alike, throwing stones, whoops, and paralleling you out of forest. Seems must e areas that are there territory and that’s maybe where you’ll encounter Sasquatch behaviour that’s enough for Mexica, I do not want to see them. Apparently the redwoods you said you’d been they have been spotted. Appalachia, Ohio and Idaho they not the hot spots. I wasn’t a believer until I started looking into it and watching base camp Chris. I think the trick is just to try go on your merry way not looking and you never know. Good luck.

Make it as long as possible and as loud as possible doesn’t matter if it sounds wet or whatever, just make sure you do it. It breaks the tension in the air, and whatever’s out there can’t help but laugh their asses off. Even if it’s Bigfoot - they’re intelligent beings and will absolutely find this funny. Once that happens, you and old mate big foot will be laughing and telling jokes around the campfire roasting marshmallows. They’re sick and tired of being stalked and hunted, they really just want to relax and have a good time. Show em that not all humans are uptight (especially if you’re a white guy) - some of us are actually pretty chill. That’s when you spike that hairy man’s drink and knock him out! Then you bring it in and show everyone. You’ll be world famous and rich! But remember, laughter is the quickest way to gain trust..

Well, I spend my time in the middle of nowhere fly fishing. There’s nothing wrong with being out and surrounded by nature. If the Sasquatch legend draws you out into such beautiful places in the same way that the chance of a salmon or big trout does when I’m fly fishing, there’s no harm in that.

Hello Mike I'm a new subscriber to your channel....I have spent a lot of time out in the wilderness....Grew up in NorCal.....I had an encounter with a family of 3 Sasquatch's in the Fall of 1995 driving near where you are....There was large male, a female and a smaller Sasquatch. We stopped and looked at each other for about 5 seconds, and they all walked away....At first I was thinking that it was a group of hikers hiking at dusk in the light rain....but rather than acknowledge and wave, they disappeared into the brush....I do remember the large male's eyes had a glow to them..I was truly a disbeliever prior to this encounter...Now ...I know They Exist !! Happy Trails !

Several years ago I was traveling in this same area. My Steinstra camping guide had a footnote that Fish Lake was in the middle of Bigfoot country so I made that my next destination. Fish Lake is in the hills above Bluff Creek. Thw road up tops out at a big clearing where log haulers have plenty of room to maneuver their rigs to take the road down to a sawmill. This clearing is like the hub of a wheel with spokes.
The spokes being the logging roads going into the backcountry. The road to the lake was not clearly marked on my map from there. A middle aged female ranger stopped to see if I needed help. I told her my plight and since she was headed to the lake she told me to follow her. I also asked her if she had ever seen Bigfoot and she said no. She did say that she had a friend that was a female firefighter for the area that claimed she saw one crossing Highway 299 in the middle of the night once. The ranger had no reason to doubt this story. She told me that she had become a believer in the legend of Bigfoot after her chat with her friend.

Hi Mike, great video again, please keep them up. There has been some pretty serious Sasquatch research carried out in the forests of East Texas. Very detailed diaries were kept recording all the sounds and experiences. Trust me, no bears can do the things that those researchers recorded - the rock throwing, whistling, running through the campsite with thunderous footsteps, slapping the side of the permanent cabin so that it literally jumped when whatever it was ( I'm saying forest primate) hit it as it ran past. Bears are tenacious creatures but these weren't no bears!!! The most astonishing thing was how good they are at making themselves heard, whilst staying just out of sight. Despite a ton of high-tech equipment being used by the researchers, they could never get a clear image of one of these animals. Many of the things recorded were-are consistent with large primate behaviour, like lip smacking, wood knocking, teeth clacking, making watery squishing sounds with their mouths, humming, even singing like a soprano opera singer. One day we're going to know much more about them. The problem is a question of conservation; once their existence is established properly, i.e., a specimin is captured or shot and made public, the wild woodlands and forest wildernesses will be full of idiots trying to get one for themselves. That's not good for any of the animals, and given that a fully grown male Sasquatch could probably just pop your head straight off your shoulders like a pimple, not a good idea for humans to go looking for them en mas either - that disturbance will probably just pi** them off, and I don't think you want to be doing that. .

Very well done doc.on Bigfoot & Bluff Creek here in California, good approach on it. Pretty spooky there alone & yes there are a lot of Black Bears up in Nor. CA., and i'm sure there are some mistaken identities with bears, but for the most part, no, most people know what a bear looks like & when you see a Bigfoot you know you are seeing something completely different, you know you are not seeing a bear or any other big wild animals in the forest, Bigfoot is real. Thanks for the adventure, take care,

I purchased some raw land about 10 miles from the Patterson-Grimlin film site a couple of years ago, initially completely unaware of its proximity. There is only wilderness between the two. It is rough, remote and beautiful country. There are many black bears in the area. Precipitaion at film site is over 60 inches a year. The elevation is about 2500 feet. The forest can be very dense in places with a broadleaf understory, making it hard to see even 10 feet in front of you. Extremely biodiverse area. I plan to vist the film site alone myself this coming spring or summer and spend a month or two in the area. I hadn't considered camping overnight at the Patterson-Grimlin site, but I'm thinking now that I may if possible. Mid-August 2023 lightning strikes started a large wildfire near there this past summer and fall and closed the forest. Site may have burned. I'm much more concerned with bears than bigfoot, at this point. Will have bear spray readily accessible. Trees fall across those logging roads and bringing a saw to cut your way in or out may help.

I live in lower Alabama and I've had weird things happen around my house a few times, and then I saw one of those invisible predator things on my neighbor's property when I was looking after his horses for him. Some People seem to think these things are sasquatch. I heard somewhere recently that they had a sasquatch hair sample and they gave it an electrical charge and it went translucent.
What I saw was not huge, normal man size. It was a bright, sunny day and I saw it in the tree line watching me. It jumped back like a startled person would do, then it dropped to the ground and crawled into the woods. My heart fell into my stomach when I saw it. My very first thought was "did I really just see that?" Then I thought maybe I had just seen a ghost. I was ever so grateful that I drove over that day.
I put this whole thing out of my mind for a long time, but now I'm obsessed with trying to find other stories. You'll never catch me in the woods again. I hope that you don't see anything ever because it might just ruin the woods for you like it did me. It makes sense that bf can go translucent if that's what it was. It explains why they aren't seen all the time.
I'm glad I found your channel. If I can't go into the woods anymore then can live vicariously through other's videos. My experience really opened up my mind to the fact that there are things we know nothing about running around our woods. Stay safe.

Where do you think they got the idea for "Predator" the movie? They didnt just randomly think it up one day and write a screenplay for it. The 2 brothers that wrote it most likely had an experience with a thing just like you seen. And your just one of atleast 6 to 10 others that i have personally heard of witnessing this... A lady bow hunter filmed one of these, "Predator " type things on her cell phone going from tree to tree out 20-30 yards infront of her as she is sitting in her treestand. You can see the shimmering shape of a man bending and moving the branches as it goes from one tree to the next. F-ing ABSOLUTELY CRAZY TO SEE! 20-30 MINUTES PRIOR TO THAT, her son(I believe), and his entire little league team witnessed a UFO (for a lack of a better word) land in the field next to the baseball diamond their game was being played on less than a mile away from her treestand. Then she films this thing while out for the evening bow hunt. Very interesting, at least. It is really hard to find the video on youtube, tho. At least for me it is.

@@davidfileccia6317 I did see that video and I wrote to her under her youtube channel, but I never heard back. That's ok, I just wanted to share with her that I had seen the same thing. What I saw was much more defined than in the video. It was clearly the outline of a human shape. I have tried finding answers since I saw that thing. It's made me question our reality, especially when I've heard some say they saw it walking on the tree tops like there was some invisible floor up there. I know that I will never know what I saw that day, but it has changed my life forever, and not for the good. I will never go in the woods again and I don't even like being outside. That thing was just standing there watching me with the horses. I'm so surprised they didn't react because horses miss nothing, but then it occurred to me that maybe they were used to it. Thank you for your belief in this whole crazy thing. I never would have believed it if I hadn't seen it and felt so frightened. I do try to remember that it could have hurt me easily if it wanted to. I was alone and limping from an injured knee, but I'll never truly know if these things are dangerous, we know nothing about them. I'm sure our government does, but they ain't talking so....

That road doesn't look bad at all! Most of the old logging roads I know are pitted w huge potholes, mud boarded, and one lane, overgrown with hanging tree branches that scrape the truck lol. It was very interesting to hear the Sierra Sounds while beside campfire on a really dark night👍

They feel that they should be left to their own devices and do not need the encouragement from those with overly large feet and hairy bum's.

22:15 - Mountain lion defense - Duh... Bear spray. I lived in the mountains of Colorado for years, dozens of times on my deck. Keep your head on a swivel and shoot a short blast if you even think there might be one around. I ain't rocket surgery folks. Air horns will scare them off more times than not as well. Both have belt holsters to carry them in. Speaking of holsters, a .357 works pretty well for both mountain lion and bear. If you don't want to shoot the animal, you don't have to. The gun will NEVER shoot itself no matter how bad things get. YOU have to pull the trigger. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. It never ceases to amaze me how many of these guys go into the wilderness without ANY sort of self defense.

No reason to be scared. Even if these things were real, I'd still say don't be scared. These shows are meant to manipulate you by emotions. Don't be the puppet.

I was 8 years old in the mid 80s when *Werewolf* was aired on FOX 5 (NY), and I was in the mountains of upstate NY then. After watching the show at 8pm, I still went outside alone in the silent night and did not feel fear. It really is all in the mind. If I found myself thinking something fearful, I'd laugh at myself and shrug it off. Gotta laugh it off. Watch as nothing else happens the next minute, the next hour, the next day. See, it's all in your mind.☺️
