    So sad to hear of Judith‘s passing away on August 5. Her body grew tired over the years, but her voice always carried on and she still sounded great. What a wonderful lady she was.

      The Seekers worked so well together that seems they came together by divine intervention. The Boys had worked together since school, I hear. Judy had her own thing going and then one night she came in to sing then then, like Cinderella and the glass slipper.

    They still possess that pure quality in their voices and harmonies. I grew up in the "folk music era" in America. The Seekers from Australia fit right in with the best with the best of them. And they are still alive and well and together, and entertaining at their high level.

      In their 70s, still that voice and those harmonies. So sad to lose Judith August 22, and to a lung condition she had from 4 years old. Songs and singing kept her going. And so much more. Bless you, Judith.

    • @brucebaur5670
      @brucebaur5670 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Perhaps ironically, I've never found a single verse in the Bible that confirms angels can even sing at all. They can proclaim, but that's not singing. If I am assessing that accurately, then Judith was gifted with a voice that far surpasses any angelic being in either Heaven or earth.

    • @ivangranger8494
      @ivangranger8494 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@brucebaur5670 And yet, God inspired his words of the Bible, to be put to music. George Frederic Handel’s, master piece, comes to mind. And other composed music, of the Bible. I wonder if anyone that died, and was sent back to the earthly body, has mentioned any music 🎵 on that experience? Somewhere I saw something about the hearing of Angles, singing. But I cannot remember as to where.

    • @brucebaur5670
      @brucebaur5670 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ivangranger8494 I will gladly eat crow when someone can verify in scripture that angels can sing. I never found such a place. In fact, I've never found a scripture that says they can dance, either. After all, the Bible does tell us that there are a number of things we humans can do that angels would like to look into. They can do what we cannot, and we can do what they cannot. Bottom line: I'm just thankful we're all on the same side.

    "Silver Threads and Golden Needles" was the first big hit of The Springfields, which catapulted Dusty Springfield to stardom. Her brother, Tom, subsequently became the primary songwriter for the Seekers, penning "Georgy Girl," "I'll Never Find Another You," "The Carnival is Over," and "A World of Our Own."
    So, it's fitting they recorded this in their last session together.

    Quite simple really, there's only one group who can harmonies and these are them who can..... sadly missed this lady will be and feel for the men who mourn the loss.

    Been listening to then since '64' and loved all their songs, what a voice little Judith Durham has, così dolce, semplicemente perfetto , and the guys are great also.

    I've always thought that Linda's live performance, Offenbach, in 1976 is the gold-standard for this song, but who couldn't love our Seekers' version here? The guy next to the still camera man was right into it!!

    Amazing how she sounds like she did in the 60s. I could tell she lived a good disciplined life.

    They were so blessed to have all lived so long to continue to perform together.
