      @@Shweta-Arora Exactly! Watching your videos I used to feel that the way u speak (in the most easy language possible) is because u don't want us to find it tough nd that is definately not the way u actually use in interviews .

      @@Shweta-Arora thank you so much ma'am! I'm asking in the sense like there was a time I was very interested in digital marketing, but eventually got bored of it.. so ma'am how do we know whether the interest will last or will be short-lived? I know it's a strange question

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Now I understand your query. I feel it's not important to know pre-hand if the interest will sustain over time or not. It's okay to try something and realise you don't like it than not trying at all.
      Over time, you'll figure out what you don't like at all and what maybe interests you a bit more than others. In my personal opinion, change is the only constant. So expecting an interest to stay forever is kind of unfair. It's okay to keep changing as your interests change. Take up what you enjoy doing at the moment and go with the flow ❤️

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 🤗 I can make a video but to help you with a brief answer, I'd recommend not putting too much thought into the 3 types of reading. The best case is reading without making a sound so that you're well prepared for the final day of test taking. Apart from that, it won't make a big difference and with time, you'd even stop observing how you're reading. Let your mind get used to the pattern it's most comfortable with (except reading aloud) - that's going to be easier for you to comprehend better.

    Hello Shweta di! The panel discussion (KMC alumni connect) was great!
    I have a question if you can address. Since you were a fresher without work-ex, so according to you what are the challenges, differences one can face in a IIM classroom or placements? Are there difference in opportunities as well? Can it be a discouraging factor?

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Saujannya, thank you! 😊 Being a fresher was never a negative, in my experience. In the classroom as well as the firm you eventually join, you can add a fresh perspective. As far as placements are concerned, only a few firms keep the mandate of work-ex, but most of them are open to everyone and freshers get those roles too. So, it's definitely not a limiting factor. Having work-ex can help you add more value in the classroom when it comes to practical industry knowledge. But, if you've done Internships, you can bridge that gap too.

      @@Shweta-Arora thank you so much ❤️ I have a question again, apologise for so many questions 🤭

    Can we please have a thorough video on marketing? - how can someone reaffirm their interests in marketing, how to prepare one self before putting forward this interest in the IIM interview and what if someone doesnt have any prerequisite knowledge at the time of interview etc?

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Always happy to hear someone is interested in marketing. Would love to put forth all these in one video, but that'd be too long a video. Instead, would recommend going through this post - www.google.com/amp/s/www.non-engineer.com/amp/top-10-marketing-skills-for-getting-into-fmcg-companies-after-doing-an-mba-from-iims
      In general, you can check your interest in any field by pursuing courses and internships. With time, that inclination becomes clear when you get to study different courses in the first year.
      You need not have that clarity while appearing for the interviews. It's okay not to be clear or just fancy the idea of marketing. Exploring is what you're intending to do while doing MBA.
      If you're planning to say you're into marketing, a couple of tips:
      - go through the recent ad campaigns and controversies around those ads.
      - keep a track on FMCGs and news around them
      - digital marketing is a niche within marketing that you can learn by pursuing courses
      -

      Umm, tips for a first-year student would be to focus on acads and profile than CAT ( have also shared it here - th-cam.com/video/LU8SFcGiTSU/w-d-xo.html ) Other than that, for CAT you can focus on the section you feel you're weak in and self-prepare for that.
      I'd rather encourage you to work on:
      1. Profile Building - th-cam.com/video/b8Jh9vJTRxM/w-d-xo.html
      2. Hobby Building - th-cam.com/video/o1MBGUrBsqg/w-d-xo.html
      3. GK Preparation - th-cam.com/video/sIcc18Y8IlE/w-d-xo.html
      For Quora, you can refer to this blog, I used to write here earlier 😊 It might help - www.cursiveimpact.com/social-media
      Best wishes to you! Do well..

      Sharing a list of B-schools categorized by TIME institute. This should give a base list: www.time4education.com/CAT-MBA/About-MBA/TIME-B-School-Categorisation
      The reason I may not be able to judge any B-school is that I'm only aware of the teaching methodology and placements at the IIMs. Would suggest you spend some on YT/Quora to find reviews of these institutes and also go through their official placement reports. Once you narrow down your list to some B-schools, reach out to their alums or current students on LinkedIn for advice. But, IMO doing that after getting a shortlist would be more fruitful.

I did saw ur how to prepare for quants vdo but rather I wanted to know how you tackled quants did yoy ever faced the same situation is it normal or should I work upon it.

      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Abhishek, I've covered this bit in the QA video that one must approach questions with the intention to learn from questions than with the intention of solving them. It's okay if you're looking at the solutions again and again. This is the right stage to do that. To get rid of the time limit problem, you must set a stipulated time till which you'd attempt any question. For example, 5 mins for a QA question is more than sufficient to attempt, else keep it for solutions. Go through the video again is what I'd recommend - th-cam.com/video/-LvjYfedC-c/w-d-xo.html

    Mam could u make a video on What should one do in order to mba( for those who have graduated from Tier3 college) and unable to clear cat with a decent percentile in the appearing year!! Though I've created a video on gap years already, I believe your concern is more to do with how to utilise time during the gap. You can learn skills through courses, take up internships during that time. Working is the best way to fill a gap but if the opportunities are not so good, then you can take up these alternatives instead.

    Hey didi, I'm a bit confused regarding CFA i.e. whether or not should I go for CFA if I wants to do MBA in finance. In case Level 1 gets cleared, should I gain work experience after completing graduation alongside preparing for CAT/CFA or just directly go for MBA and simultaneously try to pass Level 2 and 3 of CFA. Also, does CFA adds a hefty value in B-school placements? Above all, really grateful for all of your videos :)

      That's entirely dependent on whether you'd want to switch fields and gain experience in DM or not. If you're asking for my opinion, I believe DM is a great field to explore and the field is only here to stay for long.

    1.I am in final year now, i will be completing my UG in may. I am preparing for CAT. I am a average student, in 10th i got 8 cgpa and in 12th i got 85%. In UG, i am above 80%....i am a non - math 12th student. Is it possible for me to get IIM Ahmedabad, if so...then how much percentile should i aim to make tht happen?...
    2. I have a gap between may to feb, will tht be considered as gap ?
    3. Is internship is compulsory to get into IIM Ahmedabad?, i heard people saying abt NGO internship is compulsory to get into IIM Ahmedabad
    4. Presently i have completed 4 courses of management related topic in coursera.....i am good at essay writing, is it fine or should i built up more on my profile?

      1. As much as I'd like to give you an estimated percentile, I don't have enough data to say whether you'd be able to get a shortlist at XYZ percentile. Would recommend you to just focus on CAT prep instead. The better your score, the higher your chances.
      2. That little a gap is not essentially a gap or even if it is on paper, it wouldn't matter.
      3. No, internships are not mandatory at all. Many of my batchmates had no internships. Having them can certainly help you with profile building. Linking a video on internships for your reference - th-cam.com/video/7c4Ft8r01CE/w-d-xo.html
      4. There's no limit to how much you can build your profile. The more, the merrier. Here's a video on profile building as well - th-cam.com/video/b8Jh9vJTRxM/w-d-xo.html

    1.what were your mock score in 1st and 2nd mock test that you took in feb?
    2.Difficulty level 1 and 2 from Arun Sharma and all exercises from TIME material is sufficient for quants?
    3.solving difficulty level 3 from Arun Shrma for quants is necessary for who is average in the quants?
    4.currently I have AIMCAT test series, when is the perfect time Or month to purchase another mock series?

    • @Shweta-Arora
      @Shweta-Arora  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much, Netra 😊 Means a lot! And hey, your query need not be related to the video, so feel free :) Responding in the same order:
      1. My mock score range has been 88-99.5 percentile. In the first few AIMCATs, I scored 92-93 percentile. The first few AIMCATs are on the easier side.
      2. Arun Sharma LOD 1, 2 and TIME material would be more than sufficient for QA. You may skip LOD 2 of the chapters you feel comfortable in.
      3. LOD 3 is not required at all.
      4. The second test series is bought after Aug (generally) when you're done with all your basics as well the syllabus is almost over (at the coaching institute or at your own pace).
      Hope this helps 😊 Let me know if there's anything else.
