AMS 2's FFB and general driving feel is so good that it's really hard for me to want to play any other sims at this point.
I finally got a PC for AMS2... It's been great fun
You will really enjoy ams 2. Its got such a great variety of cars

Ams2 is an underrated racing gem, i hope the devs keep releasing retro gt1 and lmp/group c cars, would also love some japan super gt cars/tracks and uphill stages and monster hill cars

It's not crap at all It's . For me I love that we can recreate alot of classic races and it is fun for me. It's still getting worked on and getting better with every update
I was testing some laps in the Hi-Tech Gen 1 at Jerez 88 the other day and found myself just enjoying lapping. I do want to setup a race at some point but again just to lap was producing a smile on my face.

Ams 2 is the most immersive sim for me at the moment
AMS2 has become my go to for retro Formula Racing - the mid 70's cars are a riot, as are the Hi-Tech's, and the glorious V10's never get old.
Yea it's great for just loading up random formula cars especially in VR. I feel like the problems people have with AMS2's physics are mitigated quite a bit driving the formula cars as opposed to like the gt3's and stuff. Not that I personally have much of a problem with how anything drives - as a vr racer, iracing and AMS2 are the only sims for me

Oh for gods sake dude. That's like suggesting I've never ate bread before. All those filters and settings that seemed so freeing at first turn into a real nuisance, the road texture is unappealing for some reason, the AI tops out too slow, and I fuckin hate screwing around with the UI. The car list is outdated as well unless you dl RSS and VRC stuff(I have) but as well done as the mod cars are, I still have some doubts - iracing makes their cars with the manufacturer and raceteam's data. I don't trust those small teams to have access to that stuff

Nice racing :) And fully agrees, historic F1 are the best thing in this game (and the only cars I race), 1988, 91, 93 and 2001 are all amazing to drive and race.

I agree, the F1 cars in AMS2 are simply outstanding. I'm hooked on the Formula Retro Gen3 cars right now. The turbo cars are just brutal to drive. All the F1 cars in the sim are good though, in my opinion.
I would love to see mid 90s class one cars from the dtm/itc in this game, that would be awesome!

Probably frowned upon by most but I sometimes use the swap driver feature in a long race(just a 5 lap stint) , if I have to do something. Anyway I noticed after the last update the AI is THREE SECONDS per lap slower than me, before it used to match my times 😅

Left the upvote because I like the channel in other hand I hate this game lol. The AI is SO lame, as the force feedback and all. How in earth people don't bother about overtake 3 F1 cars in one corner for the god sake.

The AI is still terrible if you have a field of cars with a big difference in performance. For example, try running Group C and Group A in multiclass (one of my favorite multi class fields in sims) and watch how often the Group C's try (and fail) to make simple overtakes. I was running a race at Bathurst with this combo, and many times the AI will simply drive on the bumper of the slower cars instead of getting on an overtake line earlier. This completely destroys any racing once lapped traffic starts trying to make it through. It's like they have no awareness of other cars until they are in close proximity to another vehicle and even then, they sometimes enter a "cone of confusion" or a "cone of hypnosis".
You can even see this in this video, in a single class field of cars no less, with the mini-train at around the 2:00 mark. Three cars driving in perfect unison, two of them obviously being held up, and very few overtaking attempts.
When I'm racing the AI in iRacing, while still not perfect, it's the only sim I've seen where the AI will not only go for clean overtakes, they'll WAIT for a better time to make the move. It's not always consistent, but it's pure magic when it happens. Flying down the mountain at Bathurst, and instead of trying to go two wide (impossible), they'll just tuck in behind you and wait for the chaos to subside before trying another attempt. If you leave the door far too open, they'll sometimes make a silly push, but it's the most reasonable I've come across over the years.
WIth every update, I keep hoping AMS2 gets to this level. rFactor 2 development is basically EOL with Ultimate coming out so I'm hoping they can reach this level with that AI as well, but I'm still feeling like that's just going to drive like rFactor 2.5 with fewer cars and tracks but better modeling for both. I get bored with GT3 from running it so much, so my time in ACC is limited these days. All the focus right now is in Online and esports, so I don't get the impression that most devs are able to justify pouring time and money into AI development for those of us that mainly race offline. I haven't tried RaceRoom lately, so maybe they've made some progress here in the past year or so.
This is actually a problem, I was able to do it a little better by turning down the defensive ability and errors under pressure bar in the custom AI file.
Well I can't even get my Thrustmaster wheel to sync with the in game wheel, its so odd and renders this game pointless so so of gave up on it, asked everywhere about it and no solution it seems.

Sorry, but we remain very far from the F1 V10 on assetto corsa, whether it is the official F2004 or an excellent mod like the RSS V10...
Not to mention the unparalleled quality of the circuit, there aren't even any tire marks on the ground in the areas of heavy braking.
and not to mention the driving sensation and vehicle physics, also clearly better on AC.
And then... I challenge you to pass the AI as easily as at Imola in an F1 V10 field at 100% on AC...
The AI in Assetto Corsa is still terrible to this day. Even with the best models from RSS and Co. in conjunction with perfect AI lines, the AI either follows each other well or kicks each other out. No other AI hints, strength or aggressiveness settings help and the New AI Behavior in CM is not able to significantly improve anything. :(
