    I’m a Navy brat, born in Yokosuka Japan! My brother also! My Father was stationed there during the Vietnam war. Brother joined the Navy back in the late 80’s. He was stationed in Japan off the Midway. What a small world!

    Thank you for just sitting down for spell. LOL Really thank you for sitting down like you would around a campfire to chat. The both of you deserve a break as well. I have no idea what it would be like to have a channel and do as you both do. So thank you.
    I do say a lot about other branches of service but I do hope you take it all in fun. From the bottom of my heart thank you both and your children for there service. Your daughter is a military spouse and that is like serving. Stacy I'm sure it didn't take as long to get the rust from under your nail as Phil . 27 years of build up is a lot . LOL.
    I have so much fun watching you guys . I've kept you guys long enough. Thanks for the video.

    Phil and Stacy,
    We don't know what to say. We can not thank you enough for the help!
    No other channel has ever showed us so much support an encouragement. What a great episode, thanks for answering all the questions we had about you and about full time RV life.
    Gracias, gracias, gracias!

    Hey guys, always luv your vid's. Fellow Texans here too. 32 years in Katy, Tx. Also sold everything to go FT and no regrets. We did however decide to buy an RV site in RGV to spend winters in. And Phil, I'm like you. Do your homework and MAINTENANCE. I'm really big on that stuff.
    OH, BTW...Phil looks like your shoulder has healed and you're out of your sling. Wow that was pretty quick. Joanie had shoulder syrgery years ago and it took her 3 months before she was-kinda- back to normal. Today she's fine.
    Anyways good vid guys. 👍 💕

    Though not full timers...yet, our lives seem to parallel yours somewhat. My husband is a retired Army helo pilot and I served in the Army (administrative) for 3 years. And we met overseas in Germany. :) We love staying at military Family Camps as well, best deal going! Love your channel.

    Good job in your answers to those who asked the questions. We have full timed now for just over 7 years and love it. I may have to disagree with you Phil on your favorite pick for an RV. If I had the budget, an XL Prevost or IH45 Foretravel would be my option. Having owned 2 Foretravels in the past, that would be a hard decision to make with all the help available on our forum. That in itself is worth thousands. Love your channel and keep up the great work! Thank you both for your service to this great country! '62-'66 USAF

    Hey! First time viewing your video. I am 84 yo and live up the road from your home base in SA at Fredericksburg. I am ex Navy also, beginning in 1957. I was mostly stationed on the USS FORRESTAL (CVA-59). I was attached to the Legal Office. I'm wishing for a 4-WD F350 Flat Bed with a mounted camper. I like the boondocking aspect.

    I love your reviews of campgrounds. Could you please add more footage of what your sites are like and the amenities at the places you stay? For example, that site in this video looks so cool, like you have a covered outdoor kitchen? But it’s hard to tell if that’s all yours or a common area. Thank you! Love your content.

    I found y’all from happily ever hanks. ;) hope y’all are doing well. Thanks for your videos. I’m on a 5 year savings plan to buy a very small intech sol horizon and I can’t wait to get started. I dream about getting out there and until I save up I’m doing my research on rv life. I plan on traveling to see family in other states first. That’s my main thing at first. If I end up living out there full time so be it. I have an exit plan and a save up plan in hand.

    I wish you guys would have started sooner for sure. Our kids laugh and tell people that they grew up in campgrounds 😊 Now you’re making up for lost time so that’s awesome! Please encourage your audience just to get out there whenever they can and with whatever RV they can. We started in tents, then a pop-up, then a 32’ bumper pull, 40’ diesel pusher and now we are enjoying a 38’ Georgetown without children 😊 Stacy, your greatest memory of the pontoon boat brought back so many memories for us! We would rent them 3-5 times a year in Branson on Table Rock Lake and pull the kids on tubes and even rented ski boats and let them try to get up on skies. Nothing like being out on the water for a relaxing day!

    I had to pause at 5:38 because my 21 year old daughters MOS is an MP in the Army. I’m so proud of her. While I’m sure you’ll say the Navy is better🤣😂, that’s ok. She has been stationed in Germany for the past month and a half. She’ll be there for 3 years and for the first time in my 59 years I’ll be getting a passport to go visit her. I miss her so much and like I said, I’m so very proud of her and her commitment to the armed forces that protect our amazing country. Thank you both for your service.

    We do wish we rved more often than we did when the kids were young. Things will break. Our boys got an apartment together so it is nice to have them both in one place. We have two pups. We leave them behind too. We have a web cam on the thermostat. Your relationship reminds me of Larry and me 🤣. Roku has a headphone plug. The best. The RV community is amazing. Florida is our home port and where our storage is. Going full time was scary. We went full time the day the virus was named- so... Yes. Crucial that insurance is for full time. Exactly. 35’. We do want to downsize a bit someday. It helps if you are handy. We are still working on balance of filming and enjoying. TH-cam channel? Don’t expect to make money for a long time. Privacy greenery is a must in a campground. That’s why we like state parks. We swap streaming services with our kids too. We love waterfalls and springs. It’s amazing you are trying to answer so many questions. Thanks. Stay safe. Alice

    We’re coming back to Alsatian RV Park later this week. We didn’t sell our house, we rented it to a couple that are building in the neighborhood and needed some place furnished for three months. That’s perfect for us, since all of our amenities pool, clubhouse etc. have been shut down.

    You were talking about how you always had great neighbors in campgrounds. Your RV is well insulated. We just returned from a camping vacation in a park that had a lot of tent campers. It was party time even during quiet hours! I think that as people drink, their hearing dulls and the music needs to be louder and their talking gets much more vocal. And we were a 100 yards from any tent campers. This was in New Braunfels where river tubing is a priority for camping as you two [as Texans] are aware. We will be going back there, just aware of what to expect this time. May your good neighbor luck continue!

    I picked up Rv East Coast the FIRST time you mentioned them. :) You are right its a great channel and his footage and editing is fantastic. I love just looking at it. His piece on the Blackstone grill I paid so much attention to the food footage I had to rewatch because I forgot to listen. :)

    Thanks for a great video answering our questions! Interested in the comments about the size of Ruby and where you camp, because that is the question I am wrestling with: How large of an RV gets you into Local, State and National Parks and how small of an RV is livable. Thanks again!

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have had no problems getting in any place so far. We are 35 feet. We haven't visited any National Parks yet....we will find it harder to find a reservation than a spot that we are too big in.

    Thanks for answering the FAQ's. Phil, it's good to see you without the sling! Hope that your recovery is going well. We're in the process of getting our 33aa (Red Canyon) ready for the road and want to thank you for the tips and hacks. One last question: what bike rack do you have? Safe and happy travels! And Thank you for your Service...
    Quick question on your 2 Windsocks hanging on the mirror's.
    Should the American flag sock be on the left, and is the when you're looking at it from the front or as the RV sits...?

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. There is no right or wrong on the wind socks. We have since replaced them with a flag pole on the rear of the RV.

    QUESTION about the gas stop. With the "new" style portable 20 and 30 lb propane tanks, is the gas stop needed or is it a redundant safety measure?
    We had a blowout on our 5th wheel and took out all the wiring and gas lines on the kitchen slide. Being we travel with the gas tanks on, (ready for the goff) I got pulled over as soon as I could to check things out and especially the propane lines. The internal safety in the tank (only one on at a time) did its job and shut off. Only gas was residual in the lines. Could detect a smell of propane but nothing else. No sign of fire or partial ignition and no gas flow. When I then turned the tank off is when I heard the safety "reset".

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a great safety piece to have for sure. Not sure how the new ones are set up, but Gas Stop will shut off the propane in the event of a catastrophic failure, such as the one you described. For use it is a great peace of mind piece of equipment for us.

    Just watched your Steps to Full Time RV video. Hope it’s ok to ask a question here...the video was very helpful and we are pretty much on track with the steps you listed, but,; we are going to keep Tennessee as our domicile but after we sell our home how we will we an address for our license, rv, car etc? That’s the part I can’t find answers to. THANK YOU! So happy I found your channel!

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you dont have a family member whose address you will use then you have to choose a domicile company. We use Escapees out of Texas. I dont know of a company that uses Tennessee. You will have to see if there is one available. You will need a physical address not a PO Box

    A question if you still have room: What do you do on a day-to-day basis? I would love to go full-time RVing, but feel that my husband and I would get bored. Maybe you could film “a day in the life” video (including meals - love to watch you cook) for those non-adventure days? Thank you!

    • @todayissomeday

      We live like we did in the house. We may go out and film, go out to explore, go for a hike, ride bikes or take a jammie day and do nothing.

    Hi,
    On one of your previous video when you and your friend had to cross a 12 ton capacity bridge and you turned back. I have a 40 footer 32,500 pounds. I have a 24feet bridge to cross with a 12 ton limit. My tought was that being 40 feet and the bridge 24 feet, the full weight of the rv would never be on the bridge. So I have been crossing that bridge for 4 years now and never had a problem.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our issue was the bridge had a few spots that were questionable...... a lack of support going right down the middle of the bridge where two seams met. I am not a risk-taker with my house. LOL

But if you are ever in my area and want to boondock for a couple of days. Ring my bell and my wife and I will receive you guys like a french Quebecer nows how.

    In my 9 years in the Army, I never heard of an E-8 getting a commission to O-1. Maybe it is more common in the Navy, but it is an amazing accomplishment. My question is, wasn't that a significant pay cut when you went from E-8 to O-1?

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a Navy commissioning program. You stay within your field of expertise.
