    I’m a Navy brat, born in Yokosuka Japan! My brother also! My Father was stationed there during the Vietnam war. Brother joined the Navy back in the late 80’s. He was stationed in Japan off the Midway. What a small world!

    Based on your recommendations I clicked the link and bought the Govee WiFi Thermo Hygrometer. I don’t worry as much when we leave Tilly Dog in the RV (Edith) to go exploring. A+. I also made the recommendation and referenced your video on Tiffin Owners Group. Thank you.

    Hey guys, always luv your vid's. Fellow Texans here too. 32 years in Katy, Tx. Also sold everything to go FT and no regrets. We did however decide to buy an RV site in RGV to spend winters in. And Phil, I'm like you. Do your homework and MAINTENANCE. I'm really big on that stuff.
    OH, BTW...Phil looks like your shoulder has healed and you're out of your sling. Wow that was pretty quick. Joanie had shoulder syrgery years ago and it took her 3 months before she was-kinda- back to normal. Today she's fine.
    Anyways good vid guys. 👍 💕

    I had forced family fun lol. I like that. We did summer and weekends. I’m a nurse but didn’t work as much when my kids were young. Now I’m looking for a small weekend camper. I’m just a regular RN so I work on the floor and can’t take off like you guys did. I love your show but I will never be full time. I’ll continue fun times as soon as I get another trailer.

    I had to pause at 5:38 because my 21 year old daughters MOS is an MP in the Army. I’m so proud of her. While I’m sure you’ll say the Navy is better🤣😂, that’s ok. She has been stationed in Germany for the past month and a half. She’ll be there for 3 years and for the first time in my 59 years I’ll be getting a passport to go visit her. I miss her so much and like I said, I’m so very proud of her and her commitment to the armed forces that protect our amazing country. Thank you both for your service.

    Thanks for a great video answering our questions! Interested in the comments about the size of Ruby and where you camp, because that is the question I am wrestling with: How large of an RV gets you into Local, State and National Parks and how small of an RV is livable. Thanks again!

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have had no problems getting in any place so far. We are 35 feet. We haven't visited any National Parks yet....we will find it harder to find a reservation than a spot that we are too big in.

    A question if you still have room: What do you do on a day-to-day basis? I would love to go full-time RVing, but feel that my husband and I would get bored. Maybe you could film “a day in the life” video (including meals - love to watch you cook) for those non-adventure days? Thank you!

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We live like we did in the house. We may go out and film, go out to explore, go for a hike, ride bikes or take a jammie day and do nothing.

    Hi,
    On one of your previous video when you and your friend had to cross a 12 ton capacity bridge and you turned back. I have a 40 footer 32,500 pounds. I have a 24feet bridge to cross with a 12 ton limit. My tought was that being 40 feet and the bridge 24 feet, the full weight of the rv would never be on the bridge. So I have been crossing that bridge for 4 years now and never had a problem.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our issue was the bridge had a few spots that were questionable...... a lack of support going right down the middle of the bridge where two seams met. I am not a risk-taker with my house. LOL

      @@todayissomeday Hi again,
      Thank you for your comments.I am a french Canadian from Québec and have been following you guys for a little while. I have a house in Fort Pierce Fl my driveway can accomodate a class A anytime. I use to be a member of Boondocker welcome but had to cancel my membership because that there were too many freeloaders arriving all the time with no so well maintained riggs. But if you are ever in my area and want to boondock for a couple of days. Ring my bell and my wife and I will receive you guys like a french Quebecer nows how.

    Hello love your channel and all the followers. Have a question for anyone that may have had this issue. We have a Thor Plazzo and we have issues with it wondering all over the road we have had it taken in a couple times to put steering stabilizers recently we went to another shop they installed a Safety Steer to help but it still wonders. We had brand new wheels and tires installed. We had a bell crank , front end alignment, adjustment on steering box. So we feel something is still wrong you really have to drive it. Or is this how all Diesel rigs are? If anyone can tell us we would truly appreciate your thoughts. 😊. Happy trails to you all and stay safe.

    Currently an active duty MA as well in the navy. My husband is about to finish up his second enlistment and will be joining the ranks as a civilian as I continue on with my career. Do you recommend going full time while active duty and taking it with you to each new duty station? Game plan is store with family during over seas tours.

    • @davidrobards9587
      @davidrobards9587 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure if you may still be pulling overseas duty. What to do with it then would be my question?

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do love the MA rate!!!! When did you go to to MA A School? You can absolutely do it as an active duty member....cheaper to live on base under orders. You can take it out on weekends and or leave. We have friends that do just that! You can either store it or let a family member use it.....or sell it and bank the money until you get back from overseas and upgrade. Have fun and stay safe out there!!!

    In the near future we are about to acqire our first motor home. We have had 9 fifth wheels and trailers. Cindy and i have elected to keep at least one home. After all our fifth wheels we are going to a short motor home, about 30 feet, plus or minus. We are looking at Newmar. However, not real interested in the ford V10. That makes our search more of a test. Any ideas?

    We do wish we rved more often than we did when the kids were young. Things will break. Our boys got an apartment together so it is nice to have them both in one place. We have two pups. We leave them behind too. We have a web cam on the thermostat. Your relationship reminds me of Larry and me 🤣. Roku has a headphone plug. The best. The RV community is amazing. Florida is our home port and where our storage is. Going full time was scary. We went full time the day the virus was named- so... Yes. Crucial that insurance is for full time. Exactly. 35’. We do want to downsize a bit someday. It helps if you are handy. We are still working on balance of filming and enjoying. TH-cam channel? Don’t expect to make money for a long time. Privacy greenery is a must in a campground. That’s why we like state parks. We swap streaming services with our kids too. We love waterfalls and springs. It’s amazing you are trying to answer so many questions. Thanks. Stay safe. Alice

    I do say a lot about other branches of service but I do hope you take it all in fun. From the bottom of my heart thank you both and your children for there service. Your daughter is a military spouse and that is like serving. Stacy I'm sure it didn't take as long to get the rust from under your nail as Phil . 27 years of build up is a lot . LOL.

    Good job in your answers to those who asked the questions. We have full timed now for just over 7 years and love it. I may have to disagree with you Phil on your favorite pick for an RV. If I had the budget, an XL Prevost or IH45 Foretravel would be my option. Having owned 2 Foretravels in the past, that would be a hard decision to make with all the help available on our forum. That in itself is worth thousands. Love your channel and keep up the great work! Thank you both for your service to this great country! '62-'66 USAF

    Mt. Monadnock is no joke! We hiked to the summit three years ago. Parts of it are less hiking and more like rock climbing. But it was a lot of fun!!! Can't wait to do it again when our little guys are bigger.

      You are right about that!! The funny thing is the hike was rated moderate! That was NOT a moderate hike.

    Phil, you went from an SCPO to an Ensign? And if I translated that right you were a Master at Arms? I guess the Navy timeline for promotions must be different from the Army's. I know folks that could not make E8 in 20 years, let alone making E8 the back to O4. Wow.

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I came in in as an E-1, made E-8 in 13 years! I changed jobs at the 7 year mark to the MA rate. After 9-11 happened, our rate grew from 1800 to over 11,000 and I was at the right spots in my career to advance fast! Getting selected for a commission at the 14 year mark was also great as I was going to do more than 20 anyway. A lot of busting my hump early.....sprinkled with a little luck worked out for me. No complaints whats so ever!

      @@todayissomeday Talk about timing!. I retired after 28 years from the Army. Still trying to talk my wife into getting an RV. How did you tolerate the worse food going from the Chief's Mess to the Wardroom? The few times I was embarked on Navy vessels my NCOs always raved about the Chief's Mess food compared to the general chow.

    I wish you guys would have started sooner for sure. Our kids laugh and tell people that they grew up in campgrounds 😊 Now you’re making up for lost time so that’s awesome! Please encourage your audience just to get out there whenever they can and with whatever RV they can. We started in tents, then a pop-up, then a 32’ bumper pull, 40’ diesel pusher and now we are enjoying a 38’ Georgetown without children 😊 Stacy, your greatest memory of the pontoon boat brought back so many memories for us! We would rent them 3-5 times a year in Branson on Table Rock Lake and pull the kids on tubes and even rented ski boats and let them try to get up on skies. Nothing like being out on the water for a relaxing day!

    Does anyone do a TH-cam post about RV security, do some keep a gun on board? My grandfather always had one but he was a deputy sheriff and may have always had it with him because of his job. My other grandparents always had a shotgun and a ranch rifle in their camper, this was back in the 1960s and 70s. Is self protection even an issue since most RV sites seem to have their own security to a degree.

    QUESTION about the gas stop. With the "new" style portable 20 and 30 lb propane tanks, is the gas stop needed or is it a redundant safety measure?
    We had a blowout on our 5th wheel and took out all the wiring and gas lines on the kitchen slide. Being we travel with the gas tanks on, (ready for the goff) I got pulled over as soon as I could to check things out and especially the propane lines. The internal safety in the tank (only one on at a time) did its job and shut off. Only gas was residual in the lines. Could detect a smell of propane but nothing else. No sign of fire or partial ignition and no gas flow. When I then turned the tank off is when I heard the safety "reset".

    • @todayissomeday
      @todayissomeday  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a great safety piece to have for sure. Not sure how the new ones are set up, but Gas Stop will shut off the propane in the event of a catastrophic failure, such as the one you described. For use it is a great peace of mind piece of equipment for us.
