Stacey - RE: Job idea to keep NP License = How about Tele/Video-Medicine. Has become the trend during C-19......could do it from anywhere. You are tech savvy - just have to work out scheduling so it does not get in the way of RV Lifestyle / Fun. Stay Safe
RV tip of the week, We have a sky light over the shower and I noticed the heat would hit that plastic sky light and it seemed the shower was about 3 degrees hotter than just outside the shower. Took me a while, then it came to me. Took a car window shade ( silver and reflective on one side) and Velcroed it to the ceiling over the sky light. still lets enough light in but keeps a lot of the heat out. Your Welcome!!! The big one as you know in a Class A is keeping that front window out of the sun. I installed a shade system that goes on the out side of the window and also have a foil bubble wrap sheet that goes inside the window, have only used that foil when it is really cold outside. Both these trick should help keep the heat out and helps about 5 degrees.
Come on Phil, I think your first necessity for RVing should be Stacy. Buy the gadgets when you need them not when you think you might need that. Regarding the towability of vehicles, I agree 100% with Phil's comment about checking the owner's manual. I had a 2008 F150 with a manual transmission. The tow guide said you could tow it, the owner's manual said no. Guess which one was right. Yes, I could have bought a driveline disconnect for about $1,000 but the 4wd truck I bought was a better setup, but I still had to do some mods to it to make towing convenient. Thanks guys, keep the good stuff coming.
So appreciate your informative videos! I actually go back and watch multiple times and take notes.Currently working on getting the access pass as you mentioned and really appreciate your help! I hope we do get an opportunity to meet you on the road as you and all your valuable info have been our main educational source. So very grateful for ALL THE TIME you invest in this community and we are great strides ahead because of you. THANKS A MILLION!!!
a BLACKSTONE grill will be another one of our MUST haves!! I knew i didn’t wanna cook bacon in our rig so i’m happy knowing bacon will stay on the menu if we can cook it outside!! happy weekend!!
Another great segment guys! Our onboard RV GPS has misguided so many times, we gave her a nickname...she is now referred to as "The Crazy Lady" . We use a backup, plus one other gps app but nothing beats the old school trucker map atlas as a sure thing. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay aware! Happy Trails!
@@Rvidaloco Our Newmar came with a Built-in Rand McNally. The intergraded system has many features we like, but with constant updates, she's still not all there. We also use and couldn't live without our Garmin inReach sat communicator when exploring the outdoors.
Glad you are ok Stacy, I knew you guys were doing Keto when I saw Dr Berg on you video screen on the YT comment video. Ron and I just started to get back into Keto after goofing off for a few months. We love it too and you guys are looking great!
Stacy....not to be too personal, but taking thyroid supplement may slow down or suppress further thyroid nodules if you are not already taking them. An endocrinologist will often give more than average amounts to keep T4 at “high normal” and TSH at near zero. You may already know this but offer it out of concern. I’m an FP (former Navy Reserve Doc) retiring this month and going on the road in RV September 1. Love your blog!
I plan on using the escapees location in South Dakota since it's close to an Air Force base to keep Prime. It's also closer to my family, so gives me incentive to swing back home from time to time.
A/C...keeping coach cool......do you have external or internal window shades? Keeping heat out, rather than removing heat after it enters coach windows is best. Have you ever considered an "awning" over the coach roof? Ala ....bring your own shade tree..... Lowering the heat load on the roof would help immensely. Reflective covering?? Covering ala dump truck load cover mechanism?? Even covering A/C units reduces solar load on them.....ala shading a home external condenser unit. Of course, there should be an air space between cover and whatever it is covering (especially A/C units) for ambient air circulation. Obviously, solar panels cannot be covered. Wonder about affect on antennas???
The bathroom is why I've decided on a 43QGP Allergo Bus-1/2 bath. That full bath in the rear just feels like a residential bath....rather than a Porta-Potty. :) :) :)
Once again, Thank You for sharing info about your “full time experience” with tips and instructions. My wife and I are also retired and rapidly approaching the launch of OUR full time RV experiences. I just wish we could go back to the fuel prices and availability we saw 2 years ago. Hopefully our travels will cross paths with you so we can meet and thank you in person. Love you both and please keep the videos flowing.
To help keep it cool in triple digit temps here is a hint. Turn the thermostats down lower at night to cool down the walls as well as the coach. It will take longer to heat up and won't get as hot.
We are fellow Tiffinites and love to follow you! We installed an Acuva water filter system at the kitchen sink and used a T to add on the ice maker. Works great and we can drink any water anywhere. You never have to worry. Happy Travels! 😁😁
Glad that nodule is taken care of, concerned me. You guys are great and thank you for putting time into your channel. My brother is active Navy, living in Columbus and is a Master Chief. He has been in 27 yrs now.
Also, you might be able to perform video visits for insurance companies. I have an FP friend that does this on the side and it really can add up quickly.
you guys are an awsome couple. Thank you for serving Phil. I'm going to go quite a bit smaller with an Arctic Fox 811 truck camper and a 16' flat bed for the 4 dr CanAm Maverick. Probably do winters in Prescott with a term lease and work, summers in CO boondocking.
Thanks for sharing your tips & tricks. You are very easy & fun to watch. It's like hanging out with long time friends. Thank you both for your service.
I really love watching you. Im handicap in wheelchair. We have rv but tryin to upgrade class A. I have a active pass im perm disabled since 2007 but now I'm 70year old my husband still works
Yes, yes, yes. Battleborn great! Maybe the Breeze gets them someday. Got EMS & TPMS first - thanks for that. Solar price - enlightening. Toad - Trailhawk looks the deal. Looking at extra GPS, so thanks for the background (new is the Garmin 890). Stay safe - it's not too good out there, right now. Appreciate your sharing the experience.
Someone might have already suggested this, but have you looked into telemedicine? You can take video calls with patients and assuming they have symptoms you can assess remotely you can even write them prescriptions. Our insurance is through Humana and they’ve really been pushing this lately, so it seems like it’s a market within the healthcare system that’s in need of professionals. Anyway, hope that helps! 😉
Good info as usual. Best bit was to power off your pedestal before connecting and disconnecting. Our Progressive EMS unit has saved our coach twice so far and shut down the system 4 or 5 times including two days ago for low voltage. In the 110 degree heat in Moab the overuse of the electric in the campground created some low voltage issues. Hope you are in cooler weather this week. The mountains of Colorado are very cool, in more ways than one. Enjoy...stay safe.
Glad you’re doing well. Thank you both for your service 🇺🇸 and all the great videos and advice. Hope to be on the road someday. Until then, I will live and learn vicariously through your experiences 😀
For nursing hours try to get into the nurse on line for Covid calls. Also contract tracing. We have that in NY. See what “new” functions options in Texas due to Covid
As a nurse practitioner those options wont work for my hours although it may work for an RN. I have to diagnose and treat for my hours to count. Thanks for the suggestions.
We launch Monday for our 18 month adventure! Your channel has been a wealth of information and inspiration....thank you! Hopefully we will cross paths someday.
Hello, as far as your NP hours, you can consider community centers in the areas you are located versus telemedicine. The second option depends on available positions. Just a option. Thank you for part 1 and 2 of you Q & A. Lots of useful info.
Many RXes can be transferred to another state, but some will only give you one 30 day fill and then they cancel the RX. Even if you had 6 months left on it!
Have you guys considered a Magne Shade for your front windshield to help fight the heat? I think it is rated for a 20% reduction in heat absorption. Very easy to put up - uses heavy duty magnets, so no holes or drilling.
Thanks for another great video. We are getting ready to take our 33AA out full time starting September 9th and keep getting useful info from your videos. Our must-have is our Traeger Tailgater pellet grill and it fits nicely in the basement.
Enjoyed your Video. We’ve been full time 2 years now, but I’m still working. Like y’all we’re Texans. We’re from the Beaumont area. We have a VanLeigh Beacon and can’t wait to get on road full time. I get 7 days off once per month and we hit road. Keep up the Good work, maybe be same place one day, would enjoy your inputs.
You guys ever thought about a small rolling island for counter space. With rollers you could put in bathroom while traveling. Just a thought!! Great video!!
With your semi truck chassis you could whip through a Speedco as I used to run my trucks and I had generators on them thru them they can do your oil change and chassis lube and I just retired from trucking ( just over 40 years there) and they most likely can service your gen set
Your a nurse you could help people in the camp grounds, on the water and virus issues you can get Chlorine Dioxide Potable Aqua makes 30 quarts per pac also Raw Honey is very effective on colds and flu work in 15 minutes.
Just saw this today. I am ARNP and work for VA. Any state license is good at any VA. The VA employs " locums", the tours are usually 3 months. We have had ARNPs and MDs, some only do 1 3 month assignment/year and some do 2. Some do this fulltime. I am 66 and retiring this summer, and pretty sure am letting my license go, with mixed emotions as have worked 42 years. Have a new 5th wheel on order.
I just saw one of your videos (changing a shade motor) that was shared on one of the Tiffin Facebook pages. I have since subscribed to your channel. The two of you do a great job with these and I really enjoy all of the great information. I will check back often for new videos.
@@todayissomeday I too will share them. I'm on all these Tiffin pages a lot and there are so many questions and useful information so sharing videos like these are really helpful. Oh and good job on changing out the hamster cage on your AC! Do you have a video on what you think are top spare parts to keep on hand?
Love you guys....especially because you’re Navy! I’m a retired LDO surface comm type (previously RM) and my husband got out after 5 years (TM). Love the time zone clocks and 1MC announcements for getting underway!
Hi, I just love your channel, I’ve been watching since we bought our Tiffin Allegro last November. We have the Lectric e bikes and tow a 2003 Jeep Wrangler and we’ve been struggling to find a way to transport our bikes. I noticed Phil’s set up and wonder if I missed that video. I know you’re getting tons of comments and I hope you can help us out. Stay safe and blessings.
Latricia Nicholson hi latricia, i have a 2018 Thor Fourwinds class c and tow my 2007 Jeep Wrangler. I bought a e-bike at lake havasu convergence with xscapers. The local shop set me up with a e-bike rack that can carry 2 e-bikes (approx 120 lbs).. they set it up on my Jeep.. love it.. off the top of my head i can’t remember the name of the rack but pm me and i will try to find my receipt.. :) hope this helps (or check with a local bike shop and I’ll bet they can help too).
Bob Gilman thank you so much for responding. My husband found a e bike rack by Hollywood racks that he’s ordered. We think it’s work on our Jeep, fingers crossed. Thanks again.
You guys are great. I finally figured out how to comment. We are not fulltime but we have several trips planned. Gettysburg is in a week Your video has really helped us. Hopefully SOMEDAY we'll see you "on the road"
Great video and information! Really enjoy you two! My 6 year old is a RED girl! Reminds me every Friday. Just got home from Tetons! Amazing trip! Thanks for the inspiration!
We have two Lectric XP Bikes on order, should come this month. They were on sale for $899 PLUS they gave me a 10% discount for being a military veteran and two free panniers. Those folks are great. When are you going to have YMRV stickers available? I have a spot reserved for one on Sandy, our Phabulous Phaeton. We have the Garmin RV 785 and so far, it's worked very well for us (about 3000 miles in). It also has a very nice Dash Cam, as well as Lane Keeping Assistant (which sometimes gets annoying when I'm deliberately changing lanes), and Collision Warning (which activates mostly when someone races up the blind side and abruptly pulls in front.). Sarah the First Officer backs it up with the Co-pilot app, while I have Waze on my iPhone, mainly to get a heads up on traffic jams. As usual, a great and useful episode. Go Navy.
I’m an NP too. I like NurseCE4less for my CMEs. One price for as many as you want to do and no mandatory tests. Volunteer or find a practice you can do telehealth visits for. I love telehealth and right now with COVID-19 the insurance companies are paying the full in person rate through the end of the year. I don’t know if they will continue after the first of January, but things have changed forever, I think. I’m glad your nodule is benign because I noticed it recently.
Enjoyed Part's 1 & 2. Great information and recap. We agree with nearly all of your observations after full timing as well now for over 2 years! We have a Rand Mcnally Overdryve GPS which has served us well. Best Regards and hope to see you on the road someday!
Hey Phil, you do know that you can have tri-care and still use the VA too. It is actually a good option for you to be registered with them since their are VA Hospitals and clinics all across the country and it is nice to know that if you need to see a Doctor anywhere else but home, they would still have access to your medical records. Same for Stacy (She qualifies by herself based on here prior service too).
Yes, you can. The VA for service connected issues and Tricare for anything else. We elected to stay Tricare as we have established Doc's that we have been seeing for years.
@@todayissomeday Not quite was I was saying. I was recommending to have both just in case you need to see a doctor for anything when you're no where near San Antonio.
daddysmurf180 Keep your black out shades up during the day time, (while parked) a small fan in front of a pan of ice then I have drinking water for later.
Phil, Wondering what you did with all of your military stuff - awards and decs, plaques, challenge coins, medals, etc when you went full time? We hopefully will go full time next year and have to down size all the memorabilia.
Great info, especially the GPS. Stuff. For years my kids told me to get a GPS I told them I didn't need one because I had, and still have, an MAP. I'm sure you understand but to this day a lot of people don't get. The best MAP there is, in my opinion, is the Rand McNally Deluxe Motor Carriers Road Atlas. All the pages are laminated so if you spill something on it your safe. You can also use a white , some colors will stain, grease pencil to traces your route. It gives everything a professional truck driver needs too know about their route. Even has city enlargements so you can route through the big cities... if you really need to. There is a new one out every year, but I only get one about every 2 years. I've yet to find hwy construction that is done in a year. My GPS has gotten me all jammed up once in a while, but my MAP never has. Knock knock knock wood🤞
I love keto also. I’ve lost 45 pounds but the most significant gains are in the inflammation reduction, blood pressure reduction and energy gain. Wondering what you do for drinking water.
Wow! So much useful information! Did not know you got TH-cam credit when we click your links. I’ll be doing that from now on, and I always remember to click on the thumbs up. We are on Tricare Prime, but are not yet full-timers, so Prime works for us. In November of next year I turn 65, so will have to get a new retired ID card and enroll in Medicare. Tricare for Life will kick in. Barbara can remain on Tricare, but will switch to Tricare Standard since we’ll be full-timing by then.
My daughter has been a nurse in TX, CA, MO and TN by simply applying to that state's licensing authority. There are travel nurses RVing full time. Not sure if there are same positions for nurse practitioners. Right now, travel nursing gigs are in short supply due to COVID.
Do you use CAT SCALES? How often? Tanks full or empty? I use TRICARE for Life, and the VA. The VA is extra income on top of my Coast Guard retired pension.
Phil I think the Nav training comes thru in the conscientious way that you approach maintaining and operating yall's RV. Maybe she has had a motivational impetus in that though? :):)
Do you guys maintain a "home base"? I would expect a barn, storage building, large garage or other facility would be important to do maintenance or modifications.
We have a home port in San Antonio with just a storage unit. We are able to complete most tasks at whatever RV park we are at. We are starting to talk about some kind of barndominium down the road.
Just an add that you can't use concentrated chlorox products to sanetize the fresh water tank. I called the 800 number at chlorox and they gave me the specific products you can use for this, but not concentrated.
A Lot of answered questions I had to save this so when we get our RV done I can come back & see if we need all the aps,& stuff!!! Thanks guys LOVES/HUGS to you both!!!
Awesome video! So many good tidbits of info. Love the spontaneity factor- just enjoying life as it comes. Good for you guys. Thanks for all the answers! 👍 - MJ
I was concerned about Stacy's neck also, but knew she was a nurse, so figured she had it under control. Glad to hear it's nothing to be concerned about.

Thank you for your 42 years of service to the community!!
I just saw one of your videos (changing a shade motor) that was shared on one of the Tiffin Facebook pages. I have since subscribed to your channel. The two of you do a great job with these and I really enjoy all of the great information. I will check back often for new videos.
Welcome aboard! It is so cool that someone shared that video. It is an early one!
@@todayissomeday I too will share them. I'm on all these Tiffin pages a lot and there are so many questions and useful information so sharing videos like these are really helpful. Oh and good job on changing out the hamster cage on your AC! Do you have a video on what you think are top spare parts to keep on hand?
Killer flattop haircut, as a barber I appreciate a good haircut like that!!
RIght!
Love you guys....especially because you’re Navy! I’m a retired LDO surface comm type (previously RM) and my husband got out after 5 years (TM). Love the time zone clocks and 1MC announcements for getting underway!
Welcome! So glad you are here! GO NAVY!
The ebikes are in the back of our jeep. We dont have a hitch on the jeep yet for the ebikes.
Important when “flushing” holding tank to bypass hot water heater as bleach can ruin your hot water heater.
Why do you need to heat hot water? Isn't it already hot?
You guys are great. I finally figured out how to comment. We are not fulltime but we have several trips planned. Gettysburg is in a week
Your video has really helped us. Hopefully SOMEDAY we'll see you "on the road"
That is awesome! Check out the Gettysburg Segway tour. It was awesome! PS: We have a video on them if you want to preview before you sign up.
Great video and information! Really enjoy you two! My 6 year old is a RED girl! Reminds me every Friday. Just got home from Tetons! Amazing trip! Thanks for the inspiration!
That is awesome! Glad you had a good time.
Go Navy.
Thanks so much for saving a spot for the sticker. Currently we are not mailing them. We are happy to give you one when we meet up.
You, Me & the RV We look forward to that. Safe travels.
We love you guys, it’s wonderful when I see that you have posted. You both deserve the very best!! Take good care of yourself.
Thanks so much!
V. A. System has recovered and is great again.
👍🏻
I’m an NP too. I like NurseCE4less for my CMEs. One price for as many as you want to do and no mandatory tests. Volunteer or find a practice you can do telehealth visits for. I love telehealth and right now with COVID-19 the insurance companies are paying the full in person rate through the end of the year. I don’t know if they will continue after the first of January, but things have changed forever, I think. I’m glad your nodule is benign because I noticed it recently.
Thanks for the tip especially NurseCE4less.
Enjoyed Part's 1 & 2. Great information and recap. We agree with nearly all of your observations after full timing as well now for over 2 years! We have a Rand Mcnally Overdryve GPS which has served us well. Best Regards and hope to see you on the road someday!
Awesome, thank you!
So upbeat , awesome couple !
Thanks so much for hanging out with us.
Thanks for this video. I love having a washer and dryer. I'm able to have a clothes line, so I run the dryer very little
You are so welcome!
You guys make everything fun.
Lou & Angie
Thanks! I hope you two are doing well!
@@todayissomeday Thank You. We hope that the next time you are in South Florida you hit us up.
Wishing Phil a speedy recovery.
Lou
Phil, Wondering what you did with all of your military stuff - awards and decs, plaques, challenge coins, medals, etc when you went full time? We hopefully will go full time next year and have to down size all the memorabilia.
He purged a lot but the important items are in a 10x10 storage unit in SA.
"Adams Apple" too funny. You know the Man is gonna throw that out there fast! LoL
You guys are great. A lot of good information. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Love this!!! I think I know what that fan was drying but I won’t spoil any surprise, I’ll just wait and see if I’m right 😄
❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Phil & Stacy, always late to this party. LOL
I love keto also. I’ve lost 45 pounds but the most significant gains are in the inflammation reduction, blood pressure reduction and energy gain. Wondering what you do for drinking water.
Great job!
We have Berkey, and love it. I drink a gallon of water a day, and it filters any water of 99% of contaminants.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks so much for hanging out with us today. BTW we get Amazon credit for the links not YT credit.
@@todayissomeday Oh; my mistake. Amazon credit.
My daughter has been a nurse in TX, CA, MO and TN by simply applying to that state's licensing authority. There are travel nurses RVing full time. Not sure if there are same positions for nurse practitioners. Right now, travel nursing gigs are in short supply due to COVID.
It is not the same for NPs. Our license is more like physicians.
Do you use CAT SCALES? How often? Tanks full or empty? I use TRICARE for Life, and the VA. The VA is extra income on top of my Coast Guard retired pension.
TPS system.... sorry... kids took them off our left side... 3 are missing...at $90 each to replace them or not... I check them each day we drive...
Thanks for another great video guys. Enjoy them all.
Thanks for watching!
Phil I think the Nav training comes thru in the conscientious way that you approach maintaining and operating yall's RV. Maybe she has had a motivational impetus in that though? :):)
Just want to say thanks for doing the Q & A videos; very informative AND entertaining.
Our pleasure!
Where ever you are, let your local EMS know you are available for ride a longs. I don't know, maybe.!
Btw, I so enjoy watching both of u. Really good fit as companions. Always learning something!
Thanks for the tip
Thank you for your service!
I took tricare prime for retiree when I retired.
A Lot of answered questions I had to save this so when we get our RV done I can come back & see if we need all the aps,& stuff!!! Thanks guys LOVES/HUGS to you both!!!
Glad it was helpful!
I watched this one twice because it had so much information. Were you two affected by the latest storms?
Thankfully, no. We totally skirted around them.
Awesome video! So many good tidbits of info. Love the spontaneity factor- just enjoying life as it comes. Good for you guys. Thanks for all the answers! 👍 - MJ
Our pleasure!
Another great video😀 thanks for the info!!! We love you guys
Welcome! Thanks for popping over!
great job guys! thanks so much for having these.
Our pleasure!
I was concerned about Stacy's neck also, but knew she was a nurse, so figured she had it under control. Glad to hear it's nothing to be concerned about.
👍🏻
Oh gosh I'm getting old. I've been watching your videos for a few weeks and couldn't figure out why I wasn't seeing your videos more. You mentioned subscribing and I checked and realized I wasn't. Pardon me I thought I was.
Thanks so much
