    Great review and I agree that these are excellent bags and certainly 100% waterproof. I have had mine for three years too and had very few issues with them. I will probably buy the saem again when the time comes. JP

      The old saying "You get what you pay for" is certainly true here. Thanks for watching JP. I have received your email by the way, I will return the email later today my friend. Cheers 🍻

    I have to agree Dean, my 20L Ortlieb panniers have been fantastic and flawless with around 1,000kms touring.
    Thanks for the recommendation last year!

    Hi Dean, great video. I also use the Ortlieb 20L Panniers. Work very well. Last Summer i spent the money for a custom Roguepanda frame bag for my 1120. Fits beautifully. Thanks for the excellent review.

      Hello Dennis, thanks for watching! Would you happen to have a pic or two you could send me over on Facebook messenger? I won't get mine early January and I'm just excited to see what it looks like on the bike. If it's not to much of a hassle of course. Cheers

    I wouldn't use anything else, I've had my backroller classics now since 2005 (charcoal colour) and used them mostly for commuting on my touring bike for almost 20 years, still going strong and still water proof.......next time i might get the more brightly coloured versions like the Orange or yellow for safety reasons. You are right about one thing...easy to stuff them up really full......as i did when i first bought them for a 9 day tour. Flawless is the only word I could use. I have the smaller front roller classics too for my front racks.

      Thanks for watching! I could not agree more, these bags are amazing and the most waterproof bags on the market. I also have the smaller version for a different front rack I use for long road tours. Cheers

    I only do day trips and a few overnights as I pack light. I was looking at Back Roller City. What is the real difference if you know?

    • @WanderingEyeOutdoorAdventures
      @WanderingEyeOutdoorAdventures  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello. The difference is in how the roll down attachment system works. The Back-Roller's have strap that doubles as way to carry it off bike. But more important to most people is that the strap is also adjustable so you can but a litttle more in your bags when needed.
      The Back Roller City on the hand have fixed straps that attach at the side with no adjustment and require more attention not to overload.
      I'm not sure if that makes any sense lol
      If you pack light the Back Roller City's might work for you. Cheers

    Hi Dean, a second hook on the panniers should work fine, it’s a hack I have heard about before. If I remember correctly Ortlieb themselves did it later on for the gravel panniers.
    GDMBR sounds amazing, hope everything turns out as you plan. Cheers. Dennis

      This is one issue that has given me some concern about the Ortlieb Back Rollers and I also thought doubling up on the lower hook (forward & rear facing) might be a fix. Presumably it is easy enough to add an extra?

    • @dennis_aus_neukoelln
      @dennis_aus_neukoelln 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@mad-mushroom-tc9jw Should be an easy fix. You can get the hooks as replacement parts. Never done this myself though, just heard about tourers doing this decades ago.

      @@dennis_aus_neukoelln Thanks for the reply. I’m going to buy a pair of the Back Rollers soon. Looking at another TH-cam video review th-cam.com/video/SIKZmvE5nkE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=COTewSs6hI4S_4RD it seems that the key to success might be careful set up & positioning of the upper rail clips to minimise movement on the rack. Either way, it’s good to know that there’s an option to add a second lower clip, and that appears to the standard set up on the (smaller) Ortlieb Gravel panniers .

      Hello. I have recently doubled up the lower hooks on my rear panniers and it works great. Whether or not you will have enough room will depend on your racks. The bags are definitely more stable with second hooks.
      I hope it works out for you. Cheers
