    Your tutorials are awsome and your explanations focuses on the essential points. Your 10 minutes videos offer much more value than some other long video tutorials. Please keep making such guides and thank you.

    Dude, I just sub. I've been doing blender for a bit, 6 months, but i've seen so many benefits of using Zbrush. The ease of it.
    My Uncle just got me this program and I was dumbfounded upon seeing the GUI. You may be going a bit to fast, but, lowering the speed on the TH-cam player helps ;)
    You've helped me understand the GUI and I believe since I've got some background in 3d program of Blender this is relatively easy to phase into. Thank you!

      Stick with it, the basics are the toughest to "get"; once you've got file handling and navigation down, it gets REALLY fun!

    Excellent so far! I so miss the simplicity of Blender but I want to know why the raving about Zbrush in the industry. Also want to learn Marvelous Designer, and Substance Painter.
    So basically you have to choose to initialize your mesh before working on it, whereas in Blender when you bring in a primitive, the initialize options disappear and it becomes a poly mesh the second you do an operation on it, I'm guessing.

    Thank you so much for the great tutorial series. Which wacom tablet did you use in this video Michael? And any advice for choosing tablet for beginner?

    • @MichaelPavlovich
      @MichaelPavlovich  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem, glad the videos are helping! On the tablet side, all I've ever used in my entire career is either a wacom cintiq, or what I'm currently using at home and work, which is an Intuos Pro Medium. I think my Intuos pro is an older version, so if you can buy a used one you'll be in the same boat as me. Since that's all I've used unfortunately that's all I can recommend, the rest of my workstation setup you can see here (details are in the comments): th-cam.com/video/cY_H2i3F1Pw/w-d-xo.html

    thanks for the tutorials, they are helping me so much, I just started learning 3d. I really like this function, how can I edit the primitves in this initialize palette but keep another polymeshed tool visible??
    I have skull tool tha is polymesh 3d, now I want to add sweepprofile primitve to make a hat for the skull and I would be editing that in the initialize palette, but I cant do that if I dont have my skull as reference, and if I append the sweepprofile it becomes a polymesh and I cant use the initialize editing in it.

    • @MichaelPavlovich
      @MichaelPavlovich  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      put the skull on your document and then go out of edit mode ("t") to drop the skull to your canvas as reference, then you should be able to use an initialize primitive with the skull still "visible"

    Hello! My computer is Asus X553M and it has a really hard time with Zbrush. To add a subtool takes between 7 and 15 minutes. It's horrible! It almost makes me forget about wanting to learn Zbrush. Could you recommend a lapton good enough for Zbrush? I am on a budget...

    • @DragonPulse1000
      @DragonPulse1000 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use an Asus N551VW laptop, it cost me a little under $500 to get on ebay, it works great with zbrush and I don't get any lag or long loading time. I was able to follow this video tutorial with no issues. The laptop itself is hard to find in this model, sold out where ever I look, hope that you will be able to find one similar though, but be warned, only buy it if it comes with the installation disk (or if you are able to find the disk somewhere else for sale), mine had some critical driver issues before I used the disk that the seller sent me at the time and the problem was fixed.

    Hey Michael. I made my character's helm a polymesh3d object and appended all subtools related to that helm into that place. Now when I want to append the helm-polymesh3d back to the character, I only get one subtool, the helm. Why don't I get the rest? How do I get the rest?

    • @MichaelPavlovich
      @MichaelPavlovich  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a couple of ways, the most straightforward would be Subtool > Merge > Merge visible, append that mesh to your character, then do a Subtool > Split > Split to similar parts (or whatever split method makes sense). Appending from another tool with multiple subtools will only append the selected subtool of that tool.

    • @kallesbaksatt
      @kallesbaksatt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that great and detailed answer! Instead of splitting I want to try work with polygroups and masking, but if that one dont work out I'll do the split!

    Is it a requirement in zbrush to always talk so "cocainish"? lol.... I agree Randall, SLOW DOWN... just a hair. That's why it's taken me YEARS to do ONE project with zbrush. I just can't comprehend what anyone is saying. I've been using lightwave for years so I'm not new to 3d. But this program really needs an "Entry-point". A here's my idea. B How do i begin C How do I save. Of course you can branch out from all of those but you don't need to do that as you speak. We can't keep up. Remember, we're beginners. lol, even though I've been trying for years. I open zbrush, get frustrated, I quit, I wait 2 weeks, I open zbrush, get frustrated... yadda yadda yadda ....
