Props again to SolStice for bringing us another SC2 race! You can join the Keiron discussion at his Scion Discord server here: discord.gg/4GSXkYU . For anyone interested, at the end of the video there's a quick tutorial on how to find and play the mod.
I jumped twice from the loud sfx lol :'D at the beginning and end of the match, 1:00 and 10:58. Anyway, those aside, this is an excellent vid and cast, on top of the noice new race!
Thanks for that - you are totally right - I should have dropped the volume there. I really want that opening 'warp in' effect to really pop, but that's just too loud.
I think a better analogy for the myriad would be the carrier or the reaver since this race is inspired off the protoss art style for the most part, at least in my opinion I personally have no expirience with this race, first time seeing it
If I remember, I think back in this vid I likened the myriad to the swarm host. In a later video, I go on to correct myself and agree with you, the carrier is a better analogy. If for no other reason than the myriad has to pay for each of its elytra drones just like a carrier has to pay for interceptors . Since this is your first game, it sounds like you are head of me!
The Keiron are a very exciting race to play as. The polished look and gameplay is really awesome. There's a bit of a learning curve and in the beginning every icon blends in with the others, however I see a lot of possible strategies. Reliquary upgrades are essential. I think the inducer is pretty incredible, similar to a tank with anti air capabilities. In the future I hope to see all custom icons and ui portraits for the Keiron, and further balancing. It would also be really cool if there was custom a.i. for the Keiron so we can match against them. I accidentally started a few games against a Keiron a.i. and it doesn't know how to do anything but pull workers.
@@NGBigfield Damn you're nostalic! But not in a good way imho, lol!😬😁 Also read my longer version that I posted as general comment in the main thread here..😉
something i love aboud your post game analysis other then the awsome analysis itself even if you know hoiw long the vid you dont know who wins basd on the ingametimer
I find it really neat how their strengths and weaknesses complement eachother. Keiron can only build units at home, ever, but they can get them out fast enough that harassing them the way the good ol terrans love to do doesn't really work.
ngl you kinda sound like a slightly lower pitched Bob Odenkirk and I can't not picture Saul Goodman when you're casting. That's not an insult, I just think it's funny. Anyway keep up the good work with these casts :D
It sounds as though the Devs are in agreement with you. From what I'm reading there's a consensus among the powers that be that it's too powerful for its early game role. I think we'll see a change there.
Well, according to Solstice, about 75% of the race has been done in about one month for the "Fourth Race Contest". So it can be quite unbalanced, because it was done in such short time.
Well obviously.. and those three original races took 10 years+ to get more or less right. Admittedly, they added new units with each expansion which messed up the previously achieved balance, so it probably only would've taken 5-7 years other wise perhaps. But still, some of the new units were needed to correct some unsolved previous imbalances and make the game more fun to play and entertaining to watch. So, to conclude. All in all, ten years and it's still not perfect. Never will be in fact, since absolute balance can never be achieved in any game. Though close to perfect, could be. But only temporarily, if the players remain human. I.e. not AI vs AI simulations with strategy and creativity restrictions. So don't hold your breath for this to get anywhere near balanced soon, since it's one guy plus a community, at least for now, that are gonna try to get this right, rather than a large chunk of a giant corporation like Blizzard, which again, needed ten years with all it's resources and know-how to do the same thing.
Super knullisch, I think... and he can correct me... di.mythios means the Keiron are overpowered in comparison to the Genetron and Xeyed. That could be the case. We don't quite know yet as it's not yet possible for the masses to play Keiron against Genetron and Zeyed, only against Zerg, Toss and Terran. Once that functionality is added and the sample size increases the real balancing challenges will begin. From the games I've seen, the Keiron look really strong, but what I don't know is how much of that is just a function that nobody knows how to play against it yet.
I don't see how you could know that. To have an idea where they sit in terms of balance, you'd need top players playing hundreds or even thousands of games with them.
I like more or less everything I see concept wise, except for the following: * Those floating buildings, it will be very messy and hard to distinguish what is what when attacking a base with those stacked on top of other buildings. * That building animation is just a horrific eyesore, got damn! At first look, it brings me the imagery of a foaming, guzzling sewage treatment plant fountain. Yes I have a vivid imagination that can't be switched off😅 At a second glans, I can at best (ignoring my imagination for a minute), see it as some left over screensaver animation, or a really poorly animated cloud of smoke from some flight simulator launched in the late 90's 😫🤢🤮 - Just kidding.. but also mostly not, coz not only does it look like a discount Mumbai CGI, from 20+ years ago. It completely clashes, and looks utterly out of place with all the rest of the very refined, beautiful terrain crafted by Blizzard and it's loyal gamers. * That one-eyed-spider-"Carrier/Reaver"-looking thing (the Myriad), that has three "interceptors", looks too child friendly and way to chunky and cute. The concept is good though. But just like with the carrier and the Reaver, the "interceptors" needs to cost minerals, otherwise it's way too op. * The "Volt" unit is actually really nice and simple in it's design. So no complaints here. But you did say 50 minerals and not 15, right!?😳 Coz that would be broken af😁 * There's another unit that wasn't showcased here, but it were in Lowko's cast. It's called the "Inducer" and I have quite a few complaints about it. For starters, I don't like the design, it looks way too goofy. Also, it got way to long range. But more importantly perhaps, is that those.. ugh.. boomerang-bouncing-basketball-shoots, just got to go! The bounce makes everything, just waaay too messy! And SC2 is messy already when you clash with maxed out armies. So yeah, this is just gonna turn those clashes into a giant orange soup! Especially when you have a Keiron vs Keiron. I mean at the very least, that "Solstice" guy needs to make the color of those shoots different for each player, asap! Coz otherwise, how the hell do you determine whether or not a shoot is fired at your "inducers", rather than by one of them, though just returning/bouncing back from hitting another enemy "Inducer"?? He didn't think about that, now did he!🤦♂️😅 * Also.. isn't it pronounced Key-ron as in "Okay".. i.e. the "E" is pronounced as "E" and not "A"? Well, that's my take! Feel free to disagree and question it! Also, hope I made you laugh at least once, coz it's not meant as dead serious! Just for the most part..😉 Ps. Nice vid btw! Hope you make a lot more of these with The Keiron, where we get to the late game and really get to see those advanced units. Or perhaps you could just have a few games of your own with some friends? Coz then you could purposefully not try to kill each other outright as fast as possible as soon as someone loses a battle. But rather building up until maxed out and try out different units against each other. Like a "one-on-one", or a "two-on-two" etc. and larger clashes, so that we really get all the abilities showcased and brought to their full potential! Anyhow, great work! Instant subbed! (both because of your weird/unusual speaker voice and ironic slightly odd, unusual humor!😉😋
Thanks Super! Love the thoughts here. The Myriad "interceptors" do cost resources: 25/25 each. My bad, I didn't get that out in the cast and I implied they were free based on my swarm host analogy. I definitely gotta look into the correct phonetic pronunciation of Keiron. I certainly do hope to make more Keiron vids, we'll see how it goes! Thanks for the sub!!
You are overcasting a little bit and the sound level of your casting is very loud. Its not about giving information every second to the viewer or tellin every little thing the players do. With a leaner aproach to casting I think this content Will be very appealing

Lowko just did a video on this race too! I can't say whether I enjoy your videos more or his! But you definitely deserve more subscribers and viewers
Appreciate that C - it is true that the following here is very small, but we are mighty!
Your passion for SC2 is second to none!
Skilz, maybe not so much, but I gotz de love! : ) Thanks anhtuanpda!
The building process reminds me a lot of how the seraphim or aeon build their buildings in Supreme commander: Forged Alliance ^^;
Same. It's pretty cool really. ^_^
I really liked how you explained the basic mechanics of the Keiron. Really well done!
Thanks!!

Yeah, learning the upgrade and ability icons is a bit of an entry barrier. Great tips here.
just hi from alex007 fans
can't wait for little cup theyr going to make with that
Hi alex007 fans!! That tournament is a great idea!
The building process is so pleasing to the eye!
Gawd no, it's horrible! Looks like some left over screensaver animation from the late 90's😳😵🤢🤮😋

Awesome! Love that you spotted that.

Alright! A new incentive for me to blather on after the game is over - I'm not droning on pointlessly, I'm cloaking the game's true length! LOL!
@@ZugzwangStarcraft i mean i love you post game analysis either waybut it makes i even better

Great! I'll hope to serve up another one soon.
Great casting..
Funny aswell..
Appreciate that Brenden!!

So true. Though if the citadel proxy rush ever gets figured out, everything will get turned on its head.
Hey Zugzwang, I think the plural for Ediefus is... drum roll please.... Edify???? lol!! IDK, I just had to throw that out there.... : )
You could be right! I like the sound of it anyways.
the filmora transition kills me XD
more keiron vids please . thanks :)
I think we can handle that!
this dude's energy is alright
Thank you sir!

The one thing i wouldnt say is fair is the volt, tht upgrade like the muta damage can be deadly

Thats crazy. I didnt even kno people made custom races for sc2. Is that possible for sc1 brood war as well?
What's crazy to me is that they're actually good. : )

Well hopefully a *little* better than Blizard lol
how to choose the keiron to play with?
Thought you'd never ask! Check out this tutorial at the link here!

"A little bit" is putting it mildly and politely - so thank you. Dialing it down has not been something I've had much success with so far. I'm trying!
