I really appreciate this video. I've been thinking for a year now to get my first moto and for the longest was aiming for a Honda Grom but after finding this Papio SS, I couldn't stop thinking about it. I hope the aftermarket scene gets bigger for it. I think I'm going to go for it. I don't want a larger bike and I don't care about going fast. I'm going to use it to commute and short road trips. At least here in the US, I don't think most people would really give a F about the Chinese aspect other than some worry about reliability and lack of dealerships (thus parts and maintenance).
@@jay_Jalapeno i'd encourage everyone to make their own ethical conclusions, but in my opinion i think there are worse ways to contribute to the issues the chinese people are having. Consumer goods (especially the phones/computers people are using to debate online) are a bit of a rabbithole under this topic.
went and bought one after watching the other video you did! have done the slip on yoshimura exhaust and the rear seat delete 1500km in just over a month its a blast! first oil change was done at the dealer they had no clue it had a oil filter... so dont know how bad the oil was but i did the second change my self (1000km) oil filter had chunks in it so can imagine the oil was silver after only 500km
@@benthompson2235 glad you're loving it! Like i said in the video, we've seen the high metal content from chinese engines. Guess its worth a couple short service intervals given filters are cheap (and in my case just a K&N filter) to see if it improves.
@@marthaaragon9550 thank you! The Mount is actually largely RAM, m10x1.25 mirror mount to 1" ball, short adjustable arm then a quadlock 1" ball adaptor. Ive also added a vibration dampner because iphones and single cylinder bikes don't mix. Hope this helps!
Hey Jay. I bought the CL version about a month ago. Couldn't be happier exactly what I was looking for. Always love the Grom but when I saw what CF Moto was doing. I had to go test ride one. I like the trail version a lot better and being able to go off-road a bit and explore. Did he ever try the CL?
@@NathanSims-vw3of i sat on the CL but i genuinely bought the thing sight unseen so by the time i'd sat on them i already owned this one 😂, the CL (or trail as we know it) is substantially better for comfort and ergo's and part of me wishes i went that way for that reason, but i've been trying to get my best mate Jack onto one as he's a lot taller. Either way, buckets of fun and im glad to hear you're enjoying it!
@JayHenderson749 thanks for the reply Jay. I ended up getting a seat cushion. I don't know if it's the same on the SS but the seat starts to get unbearable after about 30 minutes. Still having a blast about to get my first service done. Haven't owned a bike in years and this has been a great way to get back into it
Thanks a lot. I thought maybe it wouldn’t work because of that plastic or rubber ring on one of the ends, but good to know it does. Let me know if you do any type of tune like the ECU one from TeamMSC for example. Awesome review. Can’t wait to pick mine up this weekend
@@JayHenderson749excellent dude looking forward to it. I bought a cheap hitch carrier to bring it home, but what rack did you go with? Looks perfect for the Papio
@ i got one from a local company called trade hero australia, i'd say its just an unlabeled box from china and much the same as the rest. It just has a good amount of adjustability to allow me to centre the bike instead of it being off to one side of the car, and it doesnt have the big outriggers in all corners for strapping, just one in the centre. Works well! Ive done a couple 1000km+ trips with it on the back and it hasn't moved at all
Such a cool little bike! So wish the voom copied this design exactly. China and India for that matter are shaking up the market which for consumers can only be a good thing. Already starting to see the trickle on effect, honda selling their new 1000 hornet for £9000 as one example.
@@benthompson2235 nah, literally just a rattle can job with some white fleck from the autoparts store! Just took the wheels off, took the bead off the tyre and masked with an old bed sheet. Also took the chance to swap to 90° metal valve stems!

The "CF" stands for "chinese fucked" moto
Time will tell, but its fine so far and it hasn't exactly got an easy life
@@JayHenderson749 mines not had a easy life haha, yeah gonna do another when it hits 2000km and hope its not as bad or bad at all time will defs tell
Hey there, nice vid. How did you go about mounting a quad lock phone holder there? Which quad lock mount combo/screws did you use for this?

@JayHenderson749 awesome, thanks for getting back to me!
Thinking about getting this as my first bike. I’ll mostly just be commuting on it, not hitting up any long stretches of highways.
Bought one few months back. Also my first bike ever. I've been loving it.

What oil filter did you use? Not really convenient getting some since there’s no dealer near me
