Getting Pete involved early on and learning how things work -- excellent! Not sure what took you to start in Bend, OR but the trip to Flagstaff sounds great!

+Wandering Beast Starting from Bend Ore on Sat. 14 May and making the following legs overland via dirt roads and trails-Bend to Lakeview Ore, Reno Nv., Bishop Ca., Death Valley Ca., Las Vegas Nv. , Flagstaff-Overland Expo. Each stop equals one day of riding. So that should get us to Overland on Thursday pm.
We'll all be camping together near the KTM booth. Come on out and join us along the way!

So rad how you get Pete to help you out with the ratchet. Positive male interaction like that is missing from the lives of too many kids these days. Great bike too.

+tallcip65 Thanks, Yes! I hope new parents are watching.
I read comments on moto forums like,- " I need a quiet clean place without distraction from the kids to work on my bike..." I disagree, get 'em involved in everything you do!

+blancolirio I have two daughter over 20 now. Over the years they both helped me with tasks, motorcycle maintenance and more. I also tried to get them into ice skating, hockey, ect. One daughter is a pleasure to work with and helpful. The other always acted uninterested, like too weak and always asking when am I done. Funny thing is she is A student, can ski well and picked up Tai Kwon Do quickly., The helpful one got average grades, but can ride a motorcycle, change a flat, and the one you go to for advice on computers. I am reflecting that some people work together well others like to be independent. Oh yea, neither one is interested in OVERLAND EXPO coming up this weekend but wife is. So that is a good thing but she will want a high priced 4x4 over her average Jeep Commander, and that scares me because it will cut into my motorcycle funds. LOL
