    Lots of people put videos on TH-cam. Some are good, some are bad, some are dang near unwatchable. Yours, fortunately, are among the best. Great step by step instruction, excellent camera positions, good delivery without looking like you’re trying out to host the Oscars. Just all around top notch. Love Pete as well. Keep up the good work.

    I want to thank you for your detailed install of the RR products. I've been tossing around what adventure bike I wanted but none of the existing bikes quite fit the need. Until now...I have no doubt this is the way to go. It will do everything I've been wanting and I already have a line on a good used CB500X. Your videos gave me the confidence to install the RR products myself with the great camera work and down to earth commentary. I hope the big boys pay attention and finally produce a quality mid weight adventure bike with top end parts. Keep up the good work and I just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

    Thanks for the videos Juan. They have been very useful. I bought my CB500X mostly because of your videos and am currently installing the RR Level 2 kit.
    I have a 2016 CB500X ABS. I ran into an issue when installing the level 2 rear shock. The wheel speed sensor wire would not accommodate the additional suspension travel. Fortunately I noticed this before adding the dent to the muffler otherwise it is likely the wire would have been damaged. I removed the ABS cover and disconnected the wire mount which is on the front of the ABS housing, then I removed the mount from the wire and reinstalled the ABS cover. I recommend doing this after removing the stock shock and before installing the new shock! It is difficult otherwise. I then cable tied the wire to the rear brake line. There is plenty of wire length after removing the intermediate mount.
    I found it was easy enough just to add the dent to the muffler on the bike. No need to remove it and you can see exactly where the interference is.

    Great video, watching before I buy my own RR kits. Bought my 2013 CB used earlier this year and am planning to buy the RR wheel and suspension kit once I can find the cash. You mentioned the yoshimura exhaust system, I put that system on my bike this fall, it's a little loud once it first goes on, but there's an included silencer they send you the mutes it pretty well without making it sound like a weed whacker like the stock. Thanks again for the video, can't wait to test out my kit this spring once the snow melts!

    a handy tip when loosening tight fasteners
    same idea as using the 2 wrenches required to correctly loosen or tighten hydrasulic hose asnd tubing flare nuts etc
    on the front axle pinch bolt nut you would treat the slider not stanchion ,trteat it as the second and whichever is best either pulling or pushing opn ther wrench
    do it so the 2 are withing 30 degrees or less of each other and you use one force to counteract the other
    another important tip even with gloves always open up your hand when first using that great first force required to break loose the fastener ,this is when puishiong the wrench ,because punching sharp metal with your knuckles nevver is fun

    I've been starting to look at mid-weight options. My mind went straight to the Tenere 700 if it ever gets here to the US. Had a friend suggest a cb500x w/ rr kit. My guess is that the suspension and added clearance is the largest benefit if you were going to go in stages? Just caught these videos so got a bit to watch. Thanks for sharing !

    Ya know... I'm not a fan of those heavy duty tubes. I've run them a few times and they're more trouble than they're worth.
    I found this; they're heavy enough to notice in the handling, They don't resist punctures any better than normal tubes and the kicker... They run hot, like very hot at lower pressures. I've pulled mine apart (to fix punctures) and found that they had been rubbing like crazy and producing a ton of rubber dust. Yes, I use talc...
    Oh well, the bike looks great. I sent you a mail, come play with us on Sunday if you can.... I want to ride it.

    Good afternoon, colleague. I watch some of your videos and understand a little, because I'm Brazilian. Congratulations! Do you happen to have a list of accessories you have installed on the CB500x? Here in Brazil, the CB 500 X 2019 model has just been launched and will only arrive at dealers in March 2020. I already intend to buy some parts. I was interested in the triangle that makes the suspension increase. I know it should look good on the road, but what about the city / road, keep the instability? Thanks for listening. hugs.

    Great Job! You make it all look so straightforward and easy! Looking forward to trying this myself once I get the bike (and the Kit). Oh and yeah, immediately thought of the large round headlight when I saw you remove it! Add a new speedo (maybe off of the FZ07/09 and you would have a fairly "Mad Maxish" looking bike.... Though, the 90's Batman look is good too! ;-)

    I enjoyed this much more than I expected, really nice video overall and awesome breakdown of the process step by step. Unfortunately I live in a country with no mountains and hardly any offroad or dirt trails, so I can't justify saving money for a bike/kit like this. I do however love the raw look, and I wonder how the sturdy wheels would look on a cb500f :D That's not a combination you see every day as people (for obvious reasons) tend to go the 500x route for that kind of mods.

    you could make it easy for yourself if you oxyied off the open end spanner then get a small ally or steel tube/pipe and slide on , ideal to have twice the length of exiting ring spanner . it gives you more leverage , heaps easier less effort

    • @edgarbleikur1929
      @edgarbleikur1929 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@blancolirio spoked wheels are more likely to be weaker than cast wheels. The reason they're used for off road etc is their ability to take hard hits and reform and not snap/break and ability to be straightened if bent or dinted...flex in the spokes (and rim) adds to the package of being more suited to off road use = bending and deforming without snapping or shattering...

      +MuddierThenMost If you don't ride much off road, I would definitely consider the CB500X. It's twin power and modern features far out pace the venerable KLR.
      Yes, I had an A model KLR for awhile...GREAT budget, all around adventure bike! I would ride that thing 14 hours a day like in this video...th-cam.com/video/ugKip4M6dBs/w-d-xo.html
      If you are not going off road, the V-Strom is a great, fun street bike.

    Hey there! I just bought the cb500x 2019 and I am considering buy the Adventure build. After 4 years since you did this video... Do you think it is worth it? Thanks and very useful video! :)

      @blancolirio  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, if you truely want to ride the bike hard on incredible adventures. If its just for casual adventuring, you can do that stock. Are you an accomplished off road rider?

      @@blancolirio I have experience on-road only. I am thinking in start off-road with this bike/build because is cheap and looks fun. I won't go to very hard trails probably. Thanks for answers! :)

      Good afternoon, colleague. I watch some of your videos and understand a little, because I'm Brazilian. Congratulations! Does Vice by chance have a list of accessories you have installed on the CB500x? Here in Brazil, the CB 500 X 2019 model has just been launched and only resellers arrived in March 2020. I already intend to buy some parts. I was interested in the triangle that makes the suspension increase. I know it should look good on the off road, but what about the city / road, keep the instability? Thanks for listening. hugs.

    @briancooper1773 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's a lot of explaining you're doing. Got a question. Do you need the 19" front wheel for adventure riding say on the Trans America Trail (TAT)? Also, would you necessarily need more than 6" travel also? Looking to cut costs but be able to do the TAT next year or this year later. First adventure bike btw.

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would highly recommend the full Level 3 for the TAT, including the 19" wheel...the TAT can get pretty gnarly day after day....

    • @briancooper1773
      @briancooper1773 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was wanting the 19" front tire, but worried about cornering on road which is where I ride most of the time (90/10 or 80/20% of the time). Maybe i can keep stock tires and rims for normal use and a RR 19" for the TAT, but would like wire wheels for normal use as well since I do some dirt roads normally. But how is the 19" cornering compared to the 17" rim and normal street tires? I plan using a 70/30 or 80/20 tire for normal use fyi. Great videos btw. Most people drone on and I get bored. These videos flow well but not drag out as well. Thanks for darn quick reply!

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 19" works GREAT on the tarmac...more stable, especially in concert with the upgraded suspension.

    • @briancooper1773
      @briancooper1773 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to bother you, but is the rear tire a 150/70/17 on a 3.5" rim? I can see it be smaller but it's gong to be taller by 18mm from stock. Do you find those tires taller than OEM at all? I ask because manufactures measurements are different in real world conditions for the consumer on different bikes. I'm planning on level 1 kit only as I have a 28" jeans inseam and 29" inseam with shoes on to ground and 2" more on bike won't work for me safely. I saw your video of KTM vs CB500X and saw you straddle it but I think you have a longer inseam. SO just wondering if those tires will raise bike up over stock OEM in rear. Thanks.

    • @briancooper1773
      @briancooper1773 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I also ask because OEM is 160/60/17 at least on 2017 models.

    • @blancolirio
      @blancolirio  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The weestrom is a good street bike but way too big to take much off road. Depends what you wanna do. If you really want to go seriously off road and still have a great street bike the RRP CB500X is the way to go. (I've tried 'em all). Keep us posted!

  • @motoryzen

    I never understood the so called advantage of spoked wheels when there is always a damn inner tube to deal with if there is a damn puncture. I'd rather have a tubeless tire and deal with plugging it. It's simpler and easier to fix .

      blancolirio i am thinking about to buy the CB500X or the Suzuki VStrom 650.. The VStrom is more powerfull bike and i think more capable for going with pasenger.. But i like the simplicity of the lines and commuting cuslitys of the Honda.
