6:00 that is pathetic from the front car to wait that late to jink left. He knew exactly what was going to happen to the cars in his slipstream. You have a duty of care as a racing driver and that move is putting others in a lot of danger. I hope he was punished
After this, the Supra driver and director made a formal apology. His move could certainly have been dangerous, but I think he should have taken into account that he was under pressure in a situation where he was competing for first place... Fortunately, the Z driver suffered only minor injuries and went on to win the next race at Suzuka.
@@Ojityaaaaaaaaaaaan There is absolutely no excuse. He’s a professional driver and I doubt there was nearly enough pressure for him not to be level headed. He was completely conscious and aware of what he was doing. He could’ve easily gotten 2 drivers killed.
Looks like he was trying to draft behind the car which ended up being a terrible choise considering the speed difference. Maybe he miscalculated the speed difference ... Still though, he should have noticed sooner and moved left earlier then he did. I doubt he was willingly trying to kill the other drivers
@@XReflexian That car was going way too slow for any aerodynamic advantage, plus the driver should’ve seen the car going extremely slow. And you’d be surprised at how selfish drivers could be. There was an idiot who would grab other driver’s brakes in motogp.
It's absolutely awesome how safe motorsports are getting. The rules, ppe, and the safety with the vehicles (even though they can disintegrate so badly) that most of the time the operators(drivers) can just walk away. The sport is just as exciting as it has ever been.
How much was salvageable from the car? It looked pretty much totaled when we looked at it after they took it off the track. Very glad you're okay though, I was watching at turn 8 and it was terrifying watching them cut it open to get you out, but when we saw you moving it was a huge relief.
6:02 That was a disgusting move from Sekiguchi. Absolutely shameful, he should've deserved AT LEAST a race ban for that. From the movement of his car it's clear he saw the slow moving car, he was fully aware of what he did. 100% intentional.
imo that guy should be charged for something like attempted murder. He is 100% on purpose trying to cause a huge and possibly deadly accident. No doubt he should get jail time for that
They should be aware of what's in front of them as well. He's getting in the slipstream of the slow moving car temporarily to try and prevent an overtake.
I really like the Supercars V8 Australia races for the reason that I have yet to see any rollcages fails after witnessing hundreds of crashes, the engineering on these cars nowadays is so impressive
Not showing accidents with consequences is like saying, that racing is not dangerous. They have to show them to improve safety and to deliver the consciousness of doing a sport, than can cost life.
Cheers for the warning! Nice video! Edit, 4:20, that emotion.. 7:04, that could and would have killed back in the day, FIA does occasionally say something smart you know
Glad that no drivers were seriously hurt in the making of this video. The cars, well that's a different story. But it's one of the best video compilations I've ever watched.
I remember seeing Fourmaux's crash live, but I never realised just how big the drop is, or how much airtime he got. Seeing on ground footage really gives you an idea. Also. The 'safety' of some tracks is terrifying. Particularly the Thai and South American ones. A little surprised to see how sketchy some American ones are though, would expect a bit more even from a small track.
Every time i see a comment like "motorsport it's too safe, the "good old days" were with real man" it's makes me rage from the stupidity. I'm more than glad that we can see close racing, with risk of the car being destroyed and at the same time knowing that there's a really high chance that nothing will happen to the drivers. From Brazil, love your channel! :)
It's amazing how far the safety technology in motorsport has come because a lot of these look like they should be fatal, but the drivers often walk away with only minor injuries
Wow, what an adrenaline rush! This compilation of motorsport moments is nothing short of breathtaking. Despite the heart-stopping crashes, it's remarkable to see that all drivers emerged unscathed. It's a testament to the advancements in safety measures in motorsports. Kudos to the organizers for ensuring the safety of the drivers while providing us with such thrilling spectacles!
I was watching that Miata race in person 7:55. I thought Steven Clemons and Rowan Gill were dead 100%. The video doesn't do justice to the violence of the impact. It literally sounded like a bomb going off. I was on the outside track wall and this wreck happened right in front of us. I was amazed and relieved when they both got out and walked away.

The worst thing that happened there was a broken leg, thankfully. There was, undestandably, a crackdown on pitlane safety after that. There's a reason for that to be called unsafe. The whole championship was wild, though. It ended with a big one in a 3-wide between the 3 title contenders at turns 2 and 3 at the start of the last race. It's one of the toughest series in the world.
I was there at Thruxton to "see" that Ginetta crash @4:30. Only seen it on the big screen as it happened and then maybe an hour later because they delayed the replay until they knew he was stable.
