Thanks for this walkthrough, I was trying to find music/sp.
For Linux users... on Fedora32 with 'wine' [--version shows "wine-5.17 (Staging)"] Sim390 runs perfectly well under wine (I was emulating Windos7) with the following notes
    * you will get an error box saying 'unable to open console', just click on it and 'stdout' is used as the console with no issues
    * change the config console port (default in the music/sp config file is 621) to anything outside the root only range (anything > 1024)
    * after ipl of music/sp edit $tcp:inetd.ports and change ftp and http fron 621 and 680 to something outside the root only range, save and re-ipl
The last two points are because *nix only allows root to use the lower port ranges and you do not want to run any emulator as root. But wine does provide all the windoze networking apis Sim390 expects so you do get full networking for music/sp under sim390 under wine.
I would assume most people following this channel are linux users using hercules, but as most Linux users will also have wine installed this walkthrough by moshix on using Sim390 as the emulator is as relevant to Linux users as windows ones.

Well...just have some time today and try Music/SP for the first time. The installation was easy...and to start the terminal emulator point to port 623 and to get a bigger screen. Nice to play with this ancient mainframe. Feeling nostalgic. Thanks Moshix.

At the *Go prompt, you can get the initial screen at logon by typing ADMIN.
You can get some documentation inside Music/SP by using the FSI (Full Screen Interface).
If you are at the *Go prompt, type FSI. Go to the FLIB Filespec and enter the following:
    $PGM:* various programs
    $FTG:* Fortran
    $PSC:* Stanford pascal
    $REX:* Rexx
When you use the editor, you can use RUN to execute a program interactively or SUBMIT to execute as batch.
The output is sent on a printer.txt file in the directory where Sim390 is installed.

Screens to small to read, way to fast, always mistyping… you can do better moshix (but thanks for video!)

You can always pause the video. Andy videos are made to be watched on big screen

@@moshixmainframechannel Andy ? You mistyped again 🙄 Regarding pausing… there is limited fun pausing to understand. Better a slower pace so that you „enjoy“ the video. Thank you 🙏 for trying it.

Greetings, thanks for all the hard work. I've been investigating Music 6.2 and it's a really neat operating system. My question is: is there a downloadable image for version 5.3 that runs on System 370? I am interested in the older version to run on my Raspberry PI with Hercules.

Yeah when I installed it, I couldn't figure out how to access BASIC either, I suspect it may not be installed. If you look by Programming in the menu it says it is not available. Hope you can figure it out! I really like the interface.
