Thanks for appreciating the effort that went into this! There are a few guitarists here that think what I'm doing is really cool, I'm hoping to start a band with them at some point!
I’m going to send this over to Spencer and the guys for you buddy. Spencer and I were just together a couple weeks ago for the Virgin Hotel opening. I’ll make sure they see this.
Wow, super impressive, man! Not only is that song really hard to play but you've practiced it enough to play it comfortably and with confidence. Great stage presence too! Massive props!
Thanks! I've certainly spent a lot of hours working on Periphery riffs over the past year and a half and I'm so happy that I can finally play it to an audience. Sometimes I struggle to have a stage presence, but with this style of music, I just naturally get into the groove of it.
Bruh, I can't even touch these guys drum parts and I've been playing for 17 years. These guys are masters of the craft. I can't imagine trying to pull that off in front of people, especially not when I was in HS. Just pure, unadulterated badass.
Absolutely digging that "no fucks given" stage presence mate. You're probably better than some people called Mark, Misha and Jake who do passable Periphery covers.
those guys are funny, they make whole documentaries for their covers. film crew is pretty good though Periphery should have them record their album-making processes
@@shucklesors Definitely when I get a 7 string! Racecar, Ragnarok, Hell Below and Stranger Things are definitely songs I'll learn when I get an extended range guitar! Oh don't forget Blood Eagle!
Very good job, bro. Your stage presence is even more impressive than the guitar playing. It's not the craziest song ever to play but your confidence and stage presence amp it up massively and make it much harder... that stage presence while playing a pretty challenging song are things that grown-ass adult experts struggle with (Periphery themselves lol)... and they struggle with it in full bands while playing MUCH easier songs. Spotlight was on you and you did your job. Super impressive, dude. I sincerely hope you stick to music and don't do what I did, and jump into university and forget about music as a career just because it's "unsafe" financially. You could easily join any major band in the future and live your dream if guitar is your true passion. Bravo
I'm back for a rewatch now that I'm actually sitting down and learning this song... As my first song on guitar kek This is what happens when a drummer tries to try something else Great playing!
Don't worry! Half the speed or even drop it to 40% and go up by 1% until you reach 100%. Its tedious and boring but is the best way to get a riff clean and tight at full speed.
Ha ha ha! Thank you! I've managed to get tones out of that katana that I wouldn't even expect from an amp double the price, certainly some of my best gear.
This is freaking amazing, I've always wanted to see some high school kids like me playing this type of music, haven't found much, it's always some mainstream rock band cover. Absolutely banger dude, keep it up!

2:11 to 2:13 is the hardest part of the whole song. You got through it. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. But you powered through like a pro and I guarantee nobody in the audience even noticed. That's exactly how you're suppose to do things live.
Thanks for the feedback! After the show I was a little bummed out about that section but seems like I covered it up well. It was a live performance that I was really nervous for so I was bound to make a few mistakes!
Consider the fact that he is playing it on Epiphone Les Paul Prophecy, which is quite heavy for those chops incuded in Marigold. That is some true dedication here! I love it! Hope we will hear from this kid in the future!
This is awesome. I've been playing guitar for a few years now and still won't go anywhere near this song😂 props and massive respect to you dude. Hopefully the guys in Periphery see this!

Nice to see I wasn’t the only one to do periphery stuff for music in school! You did an amazing job. Playing was on point, stood there like an absolute champ! Only thing I kind of missed is some more moving around, kind of a bit more of an aggressive stage presence, but that’s just a stage thing. I mean, I literally couldn’t move around, because I played the songs on drums, but whenever I play guitar, I move around a bit more with some of the easier stuff, but I gotta hand it to ya, this song is hard as fuck and you played it so perfectly, I can’t fault you for not moving all over the stage all that much at all. Again though, this was waayyy fuckin’ better than I’d be able to do.
Thank you! Yeah, I was just focused on getting everything really tight rather than stage presence but, now I'm more comfortable with the song, I could move around a bit more. Thanks for the feedback!
