Thanks for the detailed tour of London. My trip there years ago was a major rush in 1 day, but went to the British Museum and Westminster Chapel, plus Churchill's bunker.

It pains me when tourists come to the UK and get fish and chips from a pub thinking they are getting the real thing. You have it to get it from a proper “chippy” (ie a fish and chip shop). Pubs and restaurants don’t have the special fryer that’s needed to make real fish and chips.
And proper chippies are everywhere in London (as common as pizza places in New York).
I didn’t know that!! Definitely will have to try one next time I’m in London, thanks for letting me know
I have eaten several kinds of fish and chips in Whitby before. I can try them. There is an event on the British Railways recently.

@@katieh.2503 Hi Katie. It’s difficult to pick as there are lots of good ones. Also, London is a huge city so I may not know the area you’re staying in. Having said that nine out of ten chippies in London are fine, as the competition keeps the quality up, so if you go into the first one you see (and it’s called a ‘fish and chip shop’) it will probably be fine. Always ask for salt and vinegar as is traditional.
I would add that, although London chippies are fine, it’s generally accepted that the best fish and chip shops are by the coast (eg Cornwall) or up north (eg Leeds).
