finished Norwegian wood yesterday. going in I didn't know if I would like Murakami's style of writing and the setting in Tokyo, but I ended up really enjoying it. at times I felt that the characters described feelings and thoughts that I often have myself, which was really interesting. The bell jar is amazing, but it can put you in a certain mood, so if you're feeling a bit lonely and adjusting in a new place I would recommend having a lighter book on hand as well haha

Just a point of interest! You have probably eaten polenta at some time. It is made with maize (US-corn). Originally, real Italian polenta was made from chestnut meal. That is why we have so many chestnut trees in England - the Romans planted them after we became part of the Empire just so they could enjoy polenta like Mama used to make.
London is definitely one of the places at the top of my travel list! ✨ As a high schooler, I hope that one one day I can travel the world like you, there is seriously so much to experience and see! London is so busy and can often be super overwhelming - I hope you enjoyed it though and would consider visiting in the spring or summertime (my favourite times of year in the U.K.)! Also some cool restaurants I could definitely see you enjoying are Chutney Mary, Rovi, Nopi (basically any Ottolenghi restaurant) and Gloria. There are so many interesting places to see, but my favourite activities are just wandering through Regent’s & St James’ Park and enjoying the calm of the parks amidst the chaos of the city. Also you might consider visiting other regions in the U.K.? I’m from the North of England and the Northumberland coast heading up to Scotland is so beautiful and peaceful. Would also recommend Oxford and Cambridge and the Yorkshire Dales :)
