I enjoyed watching your test. I've watched a couple of videos from Europe where they purchased large used solar panels and used them as the fence, in place of fence panels. It turned out to be less expensive than buying actual fence panels. They went with all black panels, and even set them up back-to-back, so all of the wires and connectors are hidden from view, and you and your neighbor both have cool looking fences.
Great idea!! I know my hot Central Texas backyard fence gets COOKED by the sun most of the day so....I could see throwing up a few panels and getting plenty of extra power from them!
👍Good use of available space. I've hung (bungee cords) my portable panels on the rear porch railings to catch the morning sun to recharge my EF unit(s) after a weekend camping excursion.
Very interesting. I’m starting to hear about the merits of NOT installing on the roof. Not only because it may compromise the waterproofing on the roof, but solar panels perform better at a moderate temperature and putting them on the roof is super hot in Texas. Plus, solar panels need to be clean to perform, and keeping them at the fence means you can brush them off easily. Just be sure that they can’t blow off in strong winds!
I had a great time watching your video. I'm in North Dallas. What do you think it will take to get a permit for a fence setup? Any gotchas or advice you can offer is appreciated.
How do you use the LiTime mppt to charger your Bluetti ? How do you start the charge controller without an external battery ? I have the same controller and I need a battery connected first for it to start although for my Anker Solix F3800 I see people are using MPPT to be able to surpass the 60V limit PV by using the panels to start the controller then they use XT60 to the solar generator without an external battery.
alot smaller then any regular 200 watt? what is for you a regular 200 watt? i use eco worthy 195 watt bifazial they are smaller then this for example, and its today a normal design. theyn you say they have alot more votage about the cells, thats not true, bougerv offers this panel in different voltages ~40 volt same like 20 volts..... so if you buy it with 40 volts in a High voltage version they call it then you decide that coz you need this voltage. if anyone need a normal 20 volt version he get it. so why telll here this panels will have near 40 volts??? overall to expensive i will buy additiaonal eco worthys they are smaller and 1/3 of the prize.

Your shop is absolutely amazing! #brianwatersoutdoors.

I’m not using that LiTime with the Bluetti. The mppt is setup as a stand alone charger for my lifepo4 batteries.
Nice.
👍🏻👍🏻
Why not just lay against the fence at an angle without the mounts? are you in a high wind area?
Yes, very windy where these are setup
From across the pond, theyre making fences out of biracial solar panels.

It looks like you lost some weight. Congratulations.
