      I never found a single tutorial on how to split your keyboard into 2 different sounds (two synth for ex.) So bass or arpegiator on left, 1octave to C note and right octave pad to give an example.
      Can you please help me out ?
      Thanks.

    What I wish someone would have taught in these beginner lessons when I got started was setting the inputs for guitar and bass before adding the amp sim and the importance of know the difference and choosing the recording options of Comping, Overwrite, and Sound on Sound. Oh and of course gone over the power of the Pro Channel before I downloaded and installed every free plugin I could find. lol

As this is my first DAW, have Protools first but haven't really bothered with it considering all of the features here. The learning curve has been a bit rough on this old man but I am getting some of it. While I love the price of Cakewalk and many of its features I wish screwy shit didn't keep happening every time they update it.

      @@AudioTechTV The Atari ST with its built in MIDI interface was the gateway for me... I had a few synths but the machine opened the door (DAW?) to being a solo performer. I loved that thing. Been DAWless for a while but the time has come and Cakewalk seemed to tick all the boxes (...and it's free!!! how can that be??? Amazing!). • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe you haven’t installed the Asio driver for your interface. You have to install it manually. If you don’t have one then you can use the WASAPI shared option.

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you’ve already selected Asio as the driver type and you don’t have an Asio driver installed then you won’t have anything show up for inputs and outputs. You can have a look at your audio interface’ manufacturers website to see if they have an Asio driver that you can download and install. This would be the ideal solution.
      If there isn’t an Asio driver or if you just don’t want to install it for whatever reason then you can switch the driver type to WASAPI shared and your audio device should show up in there.

    I'm not even a musician, I'm just dipping my toes on production so I can do some stuff on my own for my videos and indie games. But then I started playing with the program and it's all so fun, I'm making a little remix of The Entertainer and I'm having so much fun, makes me wanna become a musician for real lol

    I really like using cakewalk (albeit after just one day 😅). After I got my midi controller and audio interface device drivers installed, everything simply worked when I went through the steps shown in this tutorial. I can't say the same about some other DAWs and some of the other ones weren't so kind with introductory plugins as well. Great tutorial on a great starting DAW!

    Your video is a perfect learning tool; I sincerely appreciate the time and thought that you put into making the presentation so concise verbally, and easy to follow visually. [I recently spent days reading through a 70 page manual for a tascam DP-03SD; and 11 mins into your video, the use of multiple instruments using f/x amp sim, has made starting up with Cakewalk seem so simple. 😅What a relief that the learning curve for Cakewalk is so much quicker to get to make an entire song with various instruments; using amp sims, and midi, for keyboard and drums. I am looking forward to watching the rest of this video - Thanks to you, I am going to be able to start using Cakewalk, to try out my midi drums, and keyboard, this afternoon. Much sooner than I anticipated; given how prohibitively time consuming it was for me to get up to speed with modern pc, and audio gear; I have been reading more instruction manuals, and watching tutorial videos 😖than grad school exam week. Originally setting about to convert my old 4-track cassettes into digital ( back when all I needed to know how to use were instruments, amps, mics, tsr cables, the 4 track, and a cassette player). After buying an audio interface, stereo monitor - I got a new keyboard, 8 track, mics, drum midi controller and built a faster pc hoping to get up to speed with modern DAW. Just wanted you to know, this video has made my day. ✨ The amount of steps to get from point A to B, so I can create a song with guitars/keyboard/percussion and vocals - with the plethora of new options, enabled by modern audio tech, has been made less of a tedious labyrinth thanks to your excellent educational 🥇Audio Tech Tv. 👍 Keep up the great work!

    Hello, thank you for your video. I'm stuck in the first step- I am trying to connect my Roland f701 to Cakewalk but it doesn't show in the devices. The input and output drivers are empty... what to do?

    • @AudioTechTV
      @AudioTechTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the f701 only has midi capabilities but not a built in sound card. For the audio device you can use The default windows settings or wasapi driver. Or if latency is an issue you can try downloading the free Asio4all driver. This way you can still use your built in sound card but record the midi from your f701. You will enable your keyboard in the midi settings.
      If you have an audio interface make sure you download the latest Asio drivers from the manufacturers website and then set it up in Cakewalk.

    been using it for a while and I love it! just one technical question, when I make 2 tracks, lets say one beat and the other is audio recording to sing along, when I hit record on the second channel, it starts recording the beat from first track through my audio interface. it still records my voice but it also records the beat from the other track I domt understand how.. how can I separate tracks inputs or what should I do?

    Im newborn fresh to producing music the video has helped me a lot with some basic but a lot of the stuff I didn't quite understand what books or videos can I get to give me a better understanding on what it and how it works and effects tracks. For example I don't know what a driver mode is or the differences between them. I need some sort of step by step guide for the more technical stuff. Such a difficult game.
