I just wanted to say how much I love your videos! I am a biochemist and I appreciate how much thought, research, and trials you do to bring people the most accurate and helpful information! I also appreciate how you are able to update and reevaluate your past opinions when new data/research is presented!
@@AbbeyYung hey whenever u use the K18 leave in do u personally use a regular rinse out conditioner first?? I know it says no to buy ummmm my hair is super curly and super long and very easy tangles.......do u still do your usual rinse out conditioner? And do u still use an additional leave in conditioner? If so do u add the leave in conditioner or the K18 leave in first??
I thought I was going crazy too because I remember buying it’s a 10 for around $10 at Walmart years ago before salons started selling it. I’m so glad someone else remembers that!
Dyson Supersonic hair dryer - My hair type is fine, high density and high porosity. - I actually had the same experience with my Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, but I continued to use it for a couple of months. Then I went back to my old hair dryer and NEVER AGAIN. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Dyson now! Even my hair dresser has commented on how much healthier my hair is. When using it I use level 1 or 2 on heat and nothing higher. I try to steer clear of heat now and my hair is a thousand times healthier.
I know you mentioned doing an updated Olaplex video, but I'm personally more curious about a Pureology video and comparing all of the different shampoo/conditioner options (because it seems like you've maybe tried them all?). I was going to just start buying all of them over time in travel size to try the different options, but it would be so much easier to have some direction LOL - love your videos Abbey!
It’s a 10 was definitely around $40 during that 2010-2012 period. I remember telling my mom how many things it did to justify the price to her lol I used the keratin one for many years before switching to Redkin’s multi-benefit spray. Loved this video!
I would really appreciate an updated Olaplex video. As well as other great options for each step. Thank you for your detailed content. I really like know the why behind what makes a product good.
I've used "It's a 10" (just the standard version) for prob 5-6 years - I have thick but fine 2c-3a hair and I love it, makes detangling way easier and also helps reduce frizz/define the curls a bit before I put my other products in. Also think it makes my hair super soft/shiny. It's not cheap, but a little goes a long way and the smaller bottles still last a long time (prob would last even longer if you have less hair). Definitely worth a shot imo
Can you do an all brand series on all the products from different haircare brands? One particular one I’d love to see is Amika. I love your videos! You are so kind yet honest, and I appreciate that about you and your channel! ❤
Obviously you shouldn’t feel guilty about not buying an expensive hair dryer, but I think the problem is the heat settings. With a normal dryer you rough dry first on high fan and heat and then bring the air down to polish at the end. With the Dyson, you have to do the most of the drying on a middle to low fan and heat setting and then switch to high fan/heat at the very end to smooth. This takes longer, obviously, than drying it on high, but it prevents all the straw feeling (which does go away in an hour or so anyway) and is quite a lot less damaging over time. I also like that it is super quiet and I don’t feel so shell shocked when I’m done drying my hair as a migraine sufferer. All that said, a regular hair dryer in the hands of someone with skills can certainly perform equally or better to the Dyson. But if “learn to dry hair like a pro” hasn’t made your to do list, this dryer is a great option for reducing damage IMO.
I appreciate the time and effort that goes in to making videos like this. My colored treated hair is fine and most products weigh it down so I end up with no volume with my short bob. One thing that I have noticed is that my hair dryer has to be ion free, so just the standard dryer works better. I have looked at the dream coat, but worried that it too would make my hair flat on top. One product that is new to me but that I really like is Osensia, VaVa Volume Weightless Spray. Helps give me the lift that makes my style look better. xo
Clear, concise and to the point. Wonderful video, thank you for the suggestions- I’ll be doing some shopping soon🙏🏻 you should drop your makeup routine because your skin looks flawless
I have naturally curly hair and the dyson hairdryer with diffuser is absolutely amazing for me. Also the construction is so much better for my disability with holding things up for a length of time
Olaplex’s blog website advises you *can* put olaplex 0 on wet hair after clarifying first. The one thing that annoys me about Olaplex is their directions are often contradictory (wet vs dry) and the time is always a minimum. It’s like they don’t know their own product.
Yep, any time you have to rely on multitudes of influencer videos to explain your products because you can't do that yourself -- that's a fail. And every video shows a DIFFERENT way of using them 'correctly'... huh?
You might want to try KERASTASE Densifique mask this actually leaves hair feeling a little more ‘substantial’ especially the ends and gives body and smoothness.
Omg I just switched to a professional dyson a couple months ago and it’s so much better than any of my old dryers by a long shot! Especially on my own hair.
Can you do a comparison of hair shine rinses? I know that you did one for the lamellar water, but I’m interested in which rinse you think is worth it. I know that you use the amika, but have you tried the drybar one, or the Kerastase? :) I’d also be interested in the science behind these products!
Please do an updated Sephora sale recommendation for hair! The sale is coming up and I’ve just been binging all your old Sephora sale recommendations. 😅
Ouai and Amika products are so great! I’ve noticed such a difference with them especially amikas hair masks (the Kure is on my Xmas list lol) and also using the olaplex 6/7 products together work well with my thick hair.
Love Ouai shampoo! Gives volume and new life to my hair without drying. It's lasted so long too since I use it once a week to every two weeks. And I love the Amika mask! Makes my hair so shiny!!
I so love, love your honesty and how conscience you are about the price of products for those of us who love quality at an affordable price. Thank you.
Unpopular opinion here. All bonding treatments feel good and seem to be working when you use them. It is not until you stop using them that you realise they temporarily bound your hair together artificially and did not in any way repair it. When you cease to use them your hair is either the same as before you started, or worse because as the bonds come away they pull weak hair apart and it often doesn't survive it. Many people argue and shout me down for saying this saying I am wrong etc but it is my direct experience of olaplex, K18 and other bonding products. If you don't believe me discontinue use for 2 -3 months and see the real state of your hair.
This is very interesting. I wonder if Abbey would be willing to forego K18 for a year....or maybe just 6 months. I think Abbey would be a perfect example since she's been using it consistently for a long time already. I don't want her hair to suffer, but I think it would be very informative and show the strength and integrity of her hair survives without K18 for half a year or so.
More Abbey!!! I literally need a series from you in regards to Ulta and Sephora beauty events You know we take everything. & YO we all loved it's a 10 lol I remember the big bottle was like $20 something. Girl you are for sure right.
Would love to see a clothes haul! I feel we have a similar taste in basics, and would love to see which hoodies, tees, etc have caught your eye this fall/winter :)
I absolutely love my dyson supersonic hairdryer! I don't have superfine hair (according to my hairdresser), but I don't have a lot of it. I am constantly in search of good volumizing hair products. The Dyson hairdryer adds volume to my hair. I can tell a huge difference from using a regular hairdryer. It has not been my experience that it dries my hair. I'm sad that everyone doesn't have the same positive experience. However, I realize everyone is different. I enjoy your videos Abbey, and I appreciate the research you share.
Yes to updated olaplex update. I’ve reduced my usage to no3 because it has the most ingredient in. I use the oil and 6 together prior to drying. Just started the volume up combo in redken the pink one. As per your recommendation I use the pureology leave in 🤣🥰
They also came out with a curly hair friendly color WOW Dream Coat but for some reason that one doesn't require blow drying. Do you think straight hair gals can use the curly hair version in order to avoid the blow-drying? I personally don't like applying any heat to my hair in general just because of the potential damage and time consumption. I'd love to hear your thoughts! You changed my hair care game for the better~
I really liked this video--just the right length in terns of reviewing each product. Would love to see one about makeup and another about skincare (face & body). Thanks so much!
Hi all, I am a fan of the It"s a 10 leave in for many years and I actually mix it with filtered water (1:1) in another spray bottle because I found it pretty rich. It is less heavy on my hair, without loosing its benefits and last me a lot longer. It's like getting double product for the same price. Just a tip.
I found it a bit heavy too, so I buy the it’s a 10 lite version now, it would probably be like the regular one with water added actually haha that’s smart.
Hey! Would love to hear your thoughts on Kinky Curly’s Knot Today Leave In Conditioner and Come Clean Shampoo. I’ve been using these for years as a cheap clarifying and detangling pair but would love some confirmation on its efficacy/ knowledge about how the ingredients stack up to thinks you’ve mentioned that are much pricier like Ouai’s Detox shampoo. I really trust your knowledge and research and honestly dont know where to start myself~
I am 56 ... so much has changed for the better in regards to haircare. I really want to try the K18...I wish it wasn't so expensive. I have fine, thin hair and I was told to try density products. I love your videos...the content is thoughtful, honest and thorough. Thank you.😊
I have curly hair and LOVE the Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner when I blow dry my hair straight. I haven’t found another combo that makes my hair feels as amazing as those do. Pricey but worth it for my curly hair 🥰
I love the Dyson supersonic! I have very fine hair and don’t notice that it’s drying at all. I am also frizz prone and my hair has never been so smooth. 🤷♀️
I’ve tried over 10 different leave in conditioners… drugstore and highend. It’s a 10 is still my favorite. I personally think it’s a miracle product lol I tried the pureology leave in and my hair was still a tangled mess was super disappointed in that product.
The it’s a 10 miracle leave in spray is my favorite detangler I’ve ever tried, makes my hair so soft. I’d recommend looking for this product at Marshall’s, tj max, Tuesday morning, one of those kinds of stores cause sometimes they will have them in stock for a reduced price, that’s how I always get mine. At Marshall’s, I found the large $40 bottle for $24, and the bottle is pretty big so it was a great deal
Thank you for the helpful reviews! In regards to the Dyson initially I did have the straw feeling so I returned it. But a few months later I gave it another try since I was further along my curly journey and was using great products and this time it worked like a charm. I do have to air dry for about 20 min and then diffuse with the dyson but the results are wonderul and it take about 5-7 min to really dry. That being said it might not be worth it for all the work and products that have to be used for it to actually work for me. Hope this helps someone.
Yes, I used it’s a 10 in high school around 2012 and it was much cheaper! I Recently just bought some more because I realized it’s a heat protector as well! Love it
For the moroccanoil product, I suggest to buy the whole blends argan and camelia oil. It's very cheap and the formula Is extremely similiar and it also smells great!
I LOVE the its a 10!! It has made my hair soft and shiny! When I started using it I had a head of straw! Lol but I dont like the price at all! But luckily it is lasting well!
Hey Abbey! I look forward to your videos every time you post! I love how you talk about the science behind why things are myths and not spread false information! A lot of that happens in the hair care world. But I was going to ask if you have looked into the shark blow dryer. I don’t know the exact name but it’s supposed to be exactly like the Dyson and it’s around $250 I think. Seems like people like it more but it would be cool for you to review to give people another option that’s more affordable! Thank you so much for all your hard work!❤️
YES!!! To an Olaplex review/update. I love their new serum. And I love the fragrance. I’m very sensitive to chemical smells, but this one doesn’t bother me at all!
I enjoyed this video so much, it would be awesome if you do a similar one for skincare. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos, and have a great weekend, Abbey!
yes interested in an all olaplex video! your videos are hair holy grails for me. wondering if you can include your thoughts on olaplex for virgin hair as well :)
I look forward to an update on Olaplex. That IS it’s own video. 😂 I also found that I ❤ the No 3 when I highlight my hair and it feels damaged. The No 1 should be mixed in every bowl of lightener and color that includes a developer. So it’s very important, but maybe ask your stylist. I think the air wrap is a good value because of the number of tools you would be replacing. No messy storage and easy to pack. I have a dryer that is shipping to me today. I may like it or be ready to trade up to Dyson or Shark etc. Thanks for linking it and sharing. 😎
One of the holiday Sephora Favorites boxes this year is their "Ultimate Holiday Hair Hydration" box which sells for $39 and, along with a good variety of minis of other quality hair products, contains a full-size of the Amika The Kure (which on its own costs $38). I jumped on this deal without even knowing much about some of the products such as The Kure. Your video confirmed this was indeed a great pre-holiday gift to myself!
What do you think of the conditioner? It has a lot of bad reviews so I was skeptical of buying that hair kit...but curious to try that Amika conditioner
I prefer the Biolage Coconut multi benefit leave in over the It's a 10. Would love if you did a video comparing them and even compared to the Redken Bonding leave in treatment. Thanks for this video!
You are fantastic, I have been following you on all social networks for months and I am literally obsessed with your videos. You are always clear and direct in your content and I blindly trust your advice ... I have tried many of the products you recommend and I have always had a great time. Keep it up! A kiss from Italy💋
I’d like an update on your thoughts on Olaplex. When did they change directions for Number 3? They have so many products. I do think Olaplex 3 works wonders, for me it seems to work better than k18 and is more affordable but it is more time consuming to use if applied to wet, dirty hair. Maybe that’s why Olaplex changed the directions so that it’s more similar to K18?
I really value your opinion. Great video. I know you have fine hair but could you make a video of what hair routine you would recommend for dry over processed coarse thick curly hair? It’s just that there are so many products out there that it is hard to decide.
Another fantastic, informative video like always thanks!! Your hair always looks good and in this video it looks a lil toned down which is great for fall!!!
Hi abbey know you may not have this problem but can you please do a video on hair care for dandruff or recommend a video already done? Also can you please review the Shark flex style if haven’t already?
I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on Ouai leave in for so long- I’m surprised though- I have really thin hair but it does not weigh down my hair at all- I actually prefer this one over the Pureology one
Personally I love my Dyson hairdryer! I couldn’t live without it. I use it on the coolest setting and it doesn’t seem to dry to my hair out. But I do also use Moroccan oil religiously so maybe that’s why my hair doesn’t feel dry!
Thank you so much for sharing these! It's os hard to narrow things down at the store, it's nice to have someone that's really worked through a full set of products. Appreciate how much time went into testing these!
My 40 dollar Conair SmoothWrap is hands down the best blow dryer I have ever used. It's fast and gentle and kills my frizz. It's my go to for rough drying even when I style with my Shark flexstyle.
I bought amika’s soul food and the kure based on your channel and definitely LOVE soul food the most! I have very fine hair and this makes it so sleek, smooth and weightless. I struggle with grease and oil and this allows me to only wash twice a week now. I followed amika’s website and did not apply to my roots so maybe that is the key if you have fine hair. The kure didn’t make my hair feel weightless after washing so it is too heavy for me. I was not a big fan honestly. I think its better for thick hair.
I have fine, thin hair that tangles and I figured out a way that I like to use the Olaplex 6 without it being too heavy on my hair. I put a small amount of the Olaplex in my hand and then mix it with a couple sprays of the Pureology Color Fanatic spray and/or the Redken One United spray and then work it in. I feel that I get all the benefits from the cream and the spray(s) and it's not heavy.
Excellent review and update! Because of your recommendations, my hair is doing great! Love Amika products! (The Kure line) What oil products do you recommend for thin hair? Thank you for all the work and effort you put into your videos. 💕💕💕

Thanks for these reviews Abbey, so helpful!! Could you review the living proof triple bond complex? (hyped to be better than olaplex and k18)
Coming soon 😊
@@AbbeyYung YAY!!!!!!
What is that product you are talking about?
PLEASE do the updated thoughts on olaplex!!
I would love it if you would review Shu Uemura products!
I absolutely love my dyson and I have fine color treated hair. I also have the flat iron and won't use any other of I can help it 👍
yes interested in an all olaplex video! your videos are hair holy grails for me. wondering if you can include your thoughts on olaplex for virgin hair as well :)
Thanks for watching!!
@@kaylan2083 Haven't tried it yet. The box arrived only two days ago.
Yesss looks like such a good one!
I prefer the Biolage Coconut multi benefit leave in over the It's a 10. Would love if you did a video comparing them and even compared to the Redken Bonding leave in treatment. Thanks for this video!
I just returned that and I move Biolage. Made my hair very heavy. 😊
@@lexijones8019which one made your hair heavy? 👀
Hi Abbey, Could you do a video like this of make-up please? This video was great and I use the Redkin range that you mentioned here. GREAT 🥰!
I’ll add to my list! Thanks for watching!
You need the gentle airflow attachment for the Dyson SuperSonic… it’s a game changer if you have fine hair
You are fantastic, I have been following you on all social networks for months and I am literally obsessed with your videos. You are always clear and direct in your content and I blindly trust your advice ... I have tried many of the products you recommend and I have always had a great time. Keep it up! A kiss from Italy💋
Love your videos Abbey! I have ditched all my bad hair products and upgraded my hair dryer. Some ULTA best sellers are head scratches for me.
I’d like an update on your thoughts on Olaplex. When did they change directions for Number 3? They have so many products. I do think Olaplex 3 works wonders, for me it seems to work better than k18 and is more affordable but it is more time consuming to use if applied to wet, dirty hair. Maybe that’s why Olaplex changed the directions so that it’s more similar to K18?
can you do a video on hair oils???
I really value your opinion. Great video. I know you have fine hair but could you make a video of what hair routine you would recommend for dry over processed coarse thick curly hair? It’s just that there are so many products out there that it is hard to decide.
Another fantastic, informative video like always thanks!! Your hair always looks good and in this video it looks a lil toned down which is great for fall!!!
Hi abbey know you may not have this problem but can you please do a video on hair care for dandruff or recommend a video already done? Also can you please review the Shark flex style if haven’t already?
Shark video is coming soon 😊 I’d recommend seeing a derm for dandruff to rule out scalp conditions!
Can you compare the Dyson Airwrap vs the Shark Flexstyle Air Styling & Drying System?
Yes coming soon 😊
I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on Ouai leave in for so long- I’m surprised though- I have really thin hair but it does not weigh down my hair at all- I actually prefer this one over the Pureology one
Personally I love my Dyson hairdryer! I couldn’t live without it. I use it on the coolest setting and it doesn’t seem to dry to my hair out. But I do also use Moroccan oil religiously so maybe that’s why my hair doesn’t feel dry!
Love your videos! I have learned so much from you. We need a skincare and makeup video like this. Thank you! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing these! It's os hard to narrow things down at the store, it's nice to have someone that's really worked through a full set of products. Appreciate how much time went into testing these!
Hey abbey! Do you like the mielle rosemary line?
I would like to see an in depth video on olaplex as well as it’s a 10 vs pureolgy also !! ❤
Yes I would love an updated video on everything oliplex 😊
I absolutely haaaate the way the oui leave in conditioner smells idk why I want to love it but I can't
I needed this video! I have just invested in a lot of new products based on your recommendations and more info on them gets me so excited! Thank you ❤
It’s a 10 has always been expensive. I remember my favorite leave in was $20! I saved up for it back then lol
Please do a olaplex video. Bc i dont like them except the smampoo's and number 8 and the oil.
I agree with you on the Dyson hairdryer and supersonic. My hair felt like straw when I used them. I'll stick to my T3 hair dryer haha
I wonder why that is 😅
I LOVE my T3 hair dryer!
Loved the video, it was super helpful!
Yup! I used to get ‘Its A 10’ for under $10. I was floored at the price inflation. However, I do believe the added keratin is new? I can’t recall.
Very informative video, ty for sharing. May I please which gloss are you wearing? The clear one? Beautiful lip combo 💗💗💗
would love an updated olaplex video
I have fine, thin hair that tangles and I figured out a way that I like to use the Olaplex 6 without it being too heavy on my hair. I put a small amount of the Olaplex in my hand and then mix it with a couple sprays of the Pureology Color Fanatic spray and/or the Redken One United spray and then work it in. I feel that I get all the benefits from the cream and the spray(s) and it's not heavy.
I love your reviews! I really like the way Moroccan oil makes my hair feel. Is there one you would recommend that is similar but more cost efficient?
Excellent review and update! Because of your recommendations, my hair is doing great! Love Amika products! (The Kure line)
What oil products do you recommend for thin hair?
Thank you for all the work and effort you put into your videos. 💕💕💕
I was going to say I would love a deep dive into Olaplex and your updated thoughts... but who am I kidding haha I would just love any video of yours. 🥰
