I am Ethiopian and Eritrean, we also have many special tribes on the Sahel boarder, all at the far east , while they are in middle . God bless Sahrawi and this group! I love Sahara people ❤️
Uh, sorry to correct you but the "special tribes" on the "Sahel border", none of which are within the borders of Eritrea and Ethiopia are unrelated to the Tuareg (which is the ethnicity of bands like Tinariwen) or the Sahraoui (which refers to another group of Sahara desert dwellers). Both groups (Tuaregs and Sahrawis) are related to the indigenous White-skinned Amazigh of North Africa. Tuaregs speak a variant of Tamazight languges (language of Amazigh) and Sahrawis are Arabized Berbers who were originally Amazigh speaking but adopted Arabic language in the 17th century due to intermarriage and mixing. Some Tuaregs tribes are in fact mixed with Black Africans due to the Muslim/African (Amazigh) slave trade. The Tuareg tribes were originally fair-skinned like their relatives in North Africa.

Encore moins à me plier à vos diktats et à votre censure (c'est bien dans l'air du temps, vous n'êtes pas d'accord avec moi donc vous voulez me censurer....). dum b as s read the description in the video from the original band , they arent from algeria , these are azawad & twareg people from northern mali : “A thousand miles from their homeland in northern Mali, across a vast expanse of desert, the music of Tinariwen has found shelter in the hearts of six young musicians from M’hamid el Ghizlane. They were only boys when the desert rockers first visited their home, back in 2006, but they saw an immediate reflection of their own dreams and aspirations in the music they heard. In the years that followed they learned the Tinariwen songbook note for note, word for word, even though they couldn’t speak a word of Tamashek, the language of the Touareg. When Tinariwen returned to M’hamid in 2016 to record a new album, those young disciples from M’hamid had achieved a remarkable mastery of the desert guitar repertoire. The torch had been passed from hand to hand and heart to heart across the great desert. The young musicians from M’hamid were invited to perform Abdallah’s ‘Sastaqanam’, standing in for their older brothers and playing with uncanny fidelity. But first the members of Tinariwen wrapped new turbans around the heads of their young acolytes, marking not only the passage from boyhood to manhood according to ancient desert custom, but also the transmission of their music across the generations, a transmission that is taking place in the hearts of youth from every corner of the great Sahara.”
SASTANÀQQÀM (I QUESTION YOU) Ténéré, can you tell me of anything better Than to have your friends and your mount, And a brand new goatskin, watertight, To find your way by the light Of the four bright stars of heaven, To know how to find water in The unlikeliest of places, And enlist the momentum of the wind To help you move forward. Tell me, Ténéré, how you and I Can remain united, with no hate for each other. Ténéré, I can now admit that I have travelled far through this wide world. Ténéré, I give you my oath That as long as I’m alive, I will always come back to you.
Ténéré means "desert", but is also a part of the Sahara in Niger and Chad. Tinariwen really have stunning poetic lyrics. They stand on their own without music.
Translation of the lyrics is : (O desert, I ask you where are the long gone friends. I have a water bag with no hole in it . I know my way with the four stars in the sky. I know the sources of water in dry places. I know my paths in the sandstorms desert, O desert i promised you.) Long live the desert warriors long live Africa

Just wow!! I found out about this music in my school program, and I'm blown away!! I'm from Nigeria and I'm just finding out about th9s sound, we as African need not break down the wall dividing us so we can learn more about each other culture, music and moreeee, I cant wait to visit Mali!!
north africa culture is fought since more than 1000 years and they still didnt killed it all. amazigh means "the free human" and thats what they wanna kill on us our freedom, ps tinariwan are from mali but this culture and type of music is kind of common between algeria tunisia morocco niger libya and even more countries, you can also check the "bambino" music he's a really good artist too from niger, or "gnawa diffusion" also that are algerians mostly but if im not wrong there's other nationalities in the group, you have also raina rai that is a famous algerian group
Yeah, I am British, and I was amazed to discover these West and North African musicians. If you like Mali, have you heard of Ali Farka Touré?

I am Ethiopian and Eritrean, we also have many special tribes on the Sahel boarder, all at the far east , while they are in middle . God bless Sahrawi and this group! I love Sahara people ❤️
شكرا لك فعلنا انهم ينحب وانا كذلك احب أهل الصحراء الكبرى

Encore moins à me plier à vos diktats et à votre censure (c'est bien dans l'air du temps, vous n'êtes pas d'accord avec moi donc vous voulez me censurer....). dum b as s read the description in the video from the original band , they arent from algeria , these are azawad & twareg people from northern mali :
“A thousand miles from their homeland in northern Mali, across a vast expanse of desert, the music of Tinariwen has found shelter in the hearts of six young musicians from M’hamid el Ghizlane.

SASTANÀQQÀM (I QUESTION YOU)
Ténéré, can you tell me of anything better
Than to have your friends and your mount,
And a brand new goatskin, watertight,
To find your way by the light
Of the four bright stars of heaven,
To know how to find water in
The unlikeliest of places,
And enlist the momentum of the wind
To help you move forward.
Tell me, Ténéré, how you and I
Can remain united, with no hate for each other.
Ténéré, I can now admit that
I have travelled far through this wide world.
Ténéré, I give you my oath
That as long as I’m alive,
I will always come back to you.
