Let's unbox and chat about all the American Girl dolls, outfits, and accessories I got this week! 2 of them are rare white body dolls! I also got a really awesome Gotz doll that resemble's Samantha's Pleasant Company meet outfit.

I definitely appreciate knowing prices, because I constantly feel like I’m questioning if something is a good buy or overpriced or just ok. Also, if you ever need video ideas, I’d love to learn more about the differences between Romina and Samantha (I often can’t tell when looking at photos people share) and about Addy’s prototype dress and if there are other prototype outfits. I am definitely in the early stages of learning about Pleasant Company dolls. Thanks for sharing your great haul!

I think costs are important for collectors. If I had no intention of shopping myself, it would be one thing. But since you buy the specific editions etc. I think it’s helpful for other collectors to see approximately what they should pay. (Especially if you said something like “I might had overpaid, or this was a steal etc.)
Getting back into AG has been pretty hard, because I think that prices are inflated often times. I think having someone with experience buying, especially earlier items is helpful.
Also the Götz stuff is so neat. I really find your collection to be really interesting.
That's very helpful feedback, thank you so much! The prices were definitely something I had to get used to when I first started collecting. Since I mostly collect vintage, I've had to get a really keen eye for what something is worth and what's a good item to buy. That's one thing I'm really hoping to achieve with this channel; I'm hoping to help people figure out what they want and how to do it affordably. Prices definitely got really inflated over the last couple of years, but they have come down a tiny bit, which is nice, so hopefully we'll be able to get more stuff 😆 Thanks again for your reply!
I don’t think it should be taboo to discuss the amount collectors spend on products. I like knowing. Let’s me know more about the demand and supply or worth of items.

I have to say, it really eases my guilt to know what you spend!😆 LOL! No really, it is important to educate yourself as much as possible about all aspects of collecting AG. Certainly high end collecting! Thank you so much for saying well loved is not destroying your dolls! Sometimes, I can't believe what parents allow their kids to do to AG dolls! It was just never in my nature to harm my dolls, even when I was really young! Many thanks for your videos-I learn something new every viewing! Haha, I'm glad I can ease your guilt! When collecting the more expensive things, it's soooo important to know what current market value is because it fluctuates. I guess everyone has a different definition of "love" LOL but I do think it's obvious when a younger child had the doll. I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos - I'll be doing a collection tour soon! I also appreciate the prices, because it helps me when I am looking at things that I want to add to my collection. I don't see it as bragging, I see it as informing. Also, poor Kirsten. Seeing dolls like that definitely flashes me back to when I was a kid and would give my dolls "amazing" new haircuts.

I like knowing prices! It definitely helps me figure out what I should expect to pay for something, or if something has risen in price recently.
It can be super helpful! I'm probably going to have to make sure to let everyone know that prices change over time, but in the future it could be fun to look back on old videos to see what things were worth!
IMO keep cost in video, we are curious as collectors and not judging in any way. Also to display the Addy dress I suggest putting it on a wooden dress form. That would look so cute, especially because Addy spent time in the dress shop!

Just found your channel. I don’t mind the costs, it’s your money and your hobby. We shouldn’t judge how others spend their money whether it’s in handbags or cars or electronics or dolls.
It might be nice for you in the future to remember how much you’ve paid for something it to track up and downs in the AG collector market.

personally, i dont mind seeing the prices. I only have two dolls bc i cant afford them -and bc im from chile- and i totally understand the topic is almost innevitable. I think its fun to put the amounts onto perspective and to know when you found a good deal in something :)

I don't think including the prices is pretentious, especially if you're collecting some of the rarer items from the 80s. I think the monetary cost comes with the territory when collecting Pleasant Company. I've scrolled through the eBay listings for about a decade and know that the pricing is relative for collectables. Even if I personally wouldn't have the budget or the means to collect 1986 dolls, I enjoy living vicariously through you with your content. Keep up the great work!

To me I don't care whether or not you disclose what you are paying, that is entirely up to you. Don't feel guilty if you (or you viewers) are spending big money on something you enjoy. (As long as your necessities are paid for first). I always say dolls are much better than drugs or alcohol. I am sure you work hard to buy these things. You deserve it. And I hope you haven't sold anything you regret. I have. Do you have the original Meet Molly book?
I've definitely had a couple of regretful sales, but it's okay because it allows me to keep doing what I'm doing. To me, that's the most fun part - getting to see everything in person finally. I've definitely learned to be 110% sure when selling a doll. I've never regretted selling an accessory or outfit. I do have all of Molly's original books! They changed her illustrations in like 1988 I think, so she looks very different in the first editions!
How long have you been collocting older white body and 90s American Girl dolls? How did you find out about American Girl doll and why the older pleasant company doll's and do you collect the other historical dolls?
Hey! About that Gotz doll-I believe she came out in 1986, correct me if I'm wrong but her name might be Belinda! (And Ik how you feel about the prototype thing; my '86 girl Alice looks EXACTLY Like Kirsten which only added to her sweetness imo :))

Aw, that's so kind to say, thank you! I've spent SOOOO much time discovering and learning about 1980's Pleasant Company. I'm on the older side of AG TH-camrs, so I feel like I'm one of the few that grew up with stuff from this era, whereas most of AGtube collect new releases and are more familiar with 2000's era. I do really enjoy following the new AG releases, but my forte is 80's PC. Thanks so much for the kind words!

Brand new subscriber here - I am totally good with you discussing the cost of things. I'm actually working on a video for my own channel that spells out exactly what my budget is, how I track income and expenses, etc. I'm not at the "one in, one out" level that you are but we definitely sell things regularly and that allows us to continue buying things we want more. I'm really enjoying the detail in your videos :-)
i don't mind you mentioning prices. I personally have a 15-dollar limit for buying single second hand doll. mostly i buy nude dolls since i collect barbie clothes
