I've only recently started dabbling with universal shadows, I'm partial to a nice purple myself. easy to overdo it, and a bit scary to attempt at first on an otherwise "finished" mini, like any overall effects technique (chipping or such), but very satisfying when it works. And I do agree with Sam, a huge portion of your individual style is just incremental refinements and experiments in taste. Do I like this shade of brown? Do I like the scratchy highlights I just did? And if not, what else can I do to make my paintjob look better.
Really cool advice, I'll try it in the near future! What would also be really cool if yall could make air brush ready primers to go with your airbrush paints and allow people to jump straight to colors when priming indoors!
Great video! I wish it was easier to see how much is left in the bottles with out having to take off the tips and look inside especially on the speed paints.
Enjoying these little videos with all the painters, Sam seems so down to earth for a massive painting celebrity.
Sam is the coolest. Got nothing but respect for him. His patreon is the bees knees for anyone wondering.
Sam is a true treasure to our hobby. I am glad you guys have him on board.
Gotta post little pics of the paints for the video! Great stuff though, just bought a couple fanatic paints, can't wait to see what they can do.
This is great! Definitely a new way to think about the painting process.
Great for a paint company to integrate colour theory. Nice!

Smart, eloquent, cool, and super talented, a quad-threat if there ever was one. Sam is one of the best and a superb choice for a spokesperson.
he's also a really good person.

Mini Master Class in the thought process of a true artist.

Its fun to do this with a lot of options similarly to preshade for speedpaints
Sam is epic. Not getting half hour with him every week is a travesty.
Sam has forgotten more about painting and paint then I'll every know
i've done that before and it works great. thanks for sharing
Love the intro
I see Sam, I click. Simple as that
Man I love Sam
i want to put all these techniques into practice but need to get them on the tabletop quick so i can play them lol
love this (also! what's that mini?)
Love Sam and the armipainter guys are so cool
how would you go about this without an airbrush? Would glazing work?
Glazing will achieve a similar result, you'll just have to be a bit more careful to avoid tide marks on the edges.
Painting, competing, microdosing.... 😂 dig it.
I see the complete fanatic set there in the front. Don't you sell that anymore?
Nope. Limited product item.
Sam Lenz is an international treasure. I'd say protect this man but this warrior can stand against any enemy without fear
What game is that mini from? It looks like something from Corvus Belli's Infinity.
Sam Lemntz? 😇
This sounds really cool but WAAAAAAY beyond my skill level. Also I don't have an airbrush. LOL. I would love to see the technique in practice.
Just use a universal dark color to shade all your colors and brush them in by hand.
Cool 👍
Yall should run a 50% off sale with the code "Boycott" and steal all of vallejos business after bashing workers
"Fast and satisfying 😁"
Hmmmmm...
