I don't understand why they never made another NBA Street! It doesn't make sense, if they were as greedy as they make themselves out to be. So many people loved that game! If it's a licensing issue, it needs to stop!
Probably because they didn't want to invest in it and I think the remaster for the first was the point where they went: "Alright. Considering remakes have been doing well, we can give this a try for Splinter Cell." - I mean, they couldn't figure out how to turn it into something live-service-y like they did with "Rainbow Six" and "Ghost Recon", and considering that last one failed miserably, twice, they weren't about to even try for "Splinter Cell". Cause you bet that it was next on the chopping-block if those Ghost Recon games worked, maybe. The most they did was shoehorn the character into other franchises. - I think Ubisoft's studios could do great things with all these franchises, it's just corporate that sees things differently.
Thanks for a great year Jake. This channel is one of the things that helped me keep a sense of stability in a year of personal upheaval. You're just a solid dude, keep doing what you're doing 👍🏻
Give me a game where Sam (Ironside) retires from the field, becomes the new lambert to train up a new guy and pass the torch to a new character. Just give Ironside some sort of closure
I grew up playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and to this day i play every single FPS slow and methodically. Playing CoD multi-player is absolute torture to me.
You got the nostalgia button with this one! The sillier, more arcadey sports games are the one type of games where I was able to connect with my older brother and dad. We'd spend hours playing ATV Off Road Fury and NFL Blitz in particular.
I love early SCell games, the High Speed train from PT is still memorable, even got a PSP port. I recently made a John Wick style montage using Splinter Cell Blacklist stylish takedowns. Looks badass with some cyber punk music. If only we got a Wick game from Ubisoft. They had the right tools from SC and Watch Dogs Legion. Too late now..
One of my friend LOVES the defend mode on the old ghost recon games. It’s a kind of survival mode where you hold up with a squad against enemies pouring in etc.
I mean... I like open worlds. 🤷🏻♂️ I like having freedom to explore and approach things however I want rather than linear, corridor-heavy experiences. I'd gladly play an open-world Splinter Cell.
@@ChadillacGrills I agree, but ONLY if they don't bloat it with meaningless collectibles and side missions. If they can keep it focused while still offering the freedom of open-world, fuck yes.
It would have been amazing to see a remastered Vegas/Vegas 2 in one game with an active multiplayer coop/terrorist hunt. Those to me will forever be the best “Tom Clancy” games.
I feel Ubisoft back in the day really enjoyed making games, and the Splinter Cell franchise was one of them. Double Agent was a unique blend of action and storytelling. Conviction they really upped their level design, with the lighting and how it affected stealth. Blacklist was way ahead of its time when it came out, with its diverse mechanics to attack each situation. Not to mention the Enemy Ai was pretty good as well. The final mission still sticks in my memory with its unique blend of first and third person mechanics. I miss when Ubisoft were the pioneer and not the followers.... Mr Baldino, Have a great Holiday ! & Happy New Year ! Been watching you on Gameranx since your first Before You Buy! (Batman Arkham Knight). Man time flies, but seeing you grow, and your love of video games inspires me to do better. People like you make the internet a batter place! A place where we can all collaborate, and talk about our favorite things. Don't ever stop !! Also, I'm insanely jealous of your MGS GOTP shirt !!
With the amount of remakes and remasters that come out each year do you think we will ever get a re-release of The Suffering games? Those games were so good and I feel like they are forgotten.
That, and the fact that Ground Branch also exists, which one of the developers of the original R6-franchise is working on (as they put so up-front in the description). They're still working on it and have been for years, but it seems the reception is quite positive, so... - I thought there was another one like this, but I forget now...
Jake, do you have an in game OCD thing you like to do? For instance, if I can light candles and torches in a game, I don't leave a room until I light all of them in that room.
great hair day today jake! Im so obsessed with the whole division/rainbow/ghostrecon/ splinter cell world. I would like to see some r6 characters make an appearance in s splinter cell game. r6 is where the lore really flourishes and Id like to see the story flushed out through games like splinter cell and ghost recon. Tom Clancy games are sooooo good. r6 vegas carried me through my entire tour in Iraq! It kept me sane till I got home lol
For anyone looking for a new Splinter Cell game: Ghost Recon Wildlands! Sam Fisher has a cameo in it, you can get his NVG goggles, and there is even a class to use with "Fourth Echelon" training. I do everything in game solo, so you don't need a squad. It is definitely what I would consider to be an interesting new spin on the SC formula, especially with it being open world. It gives you a lot of freedom to plan your own missions.
Happy New Year Jake! Do you ever make any new year's resolutions specific to gaming? Like "play more games," or "play fewer games," or finish up game x, y, and z that you never managed to get through?
I'm wrapping presents, and listening to Jake while thinking, oh it's almost over, I should tie my shoes so I can go to bed! But alas that's the FPS sign off🤦 And now what do I do with all this pizza!?!
Splinter Cell Double Agent was the GOAT for me, I even liked Conviction which I know most people didn't, the coop campaign was awesome. As far as Christmas movies, The Holdovers instantly became my favorite, it's so perfect
RE: the second question in this video If you like tactical, slower shooters (perhaps with a bit of horror and real world themes sprinkled in) play Ready or Not. It’s SWAT, so a little different, but damn do you feel badass but incredibly fragile and under pressure constantly. It can get a bit depressing story/themes wise but it’s a great game and a great experience for sure
What do you think of the inventive, possibly hardware related gameplay mechanics such as MGS and the psycho mantis controller / memory card stuff? I feel like things like that were never really done much since but could be an extremely memorable gaming experience. Also, thanks for the year, the vids, and happy holidays!
In 2003, I was inspired by Splinter Cell when playing a variant of hide and seek, where the seeker has to shout out the names of the hiders when finding them. I was wearing all black, full-legged and sleeved, black sandals, and playing with 6-7 others in a huge apartment complex on the outside parking area during a power outage. I went through 4 rounds without being found, all the while moving and sneaking around the seekers, ducking and taking cover in the shadows. I remember feeling badass about it too :P Was there any video game in your lifetime that inspired you to translate any skills and mechanics to a real life activity?
I'm certain Jake has got an eye out for me... this is the second time where I've been personally called out for folding laundry while watching this content
With all the venom people can spit online, I just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your time and energy. Please keep up the great work with Falcon and the rest of the folks. Happy holidays to you all. Cheers 🎉🎊👍💜👍
This may sound like a strange recommendation but I found that Sniper Elite 5 allows for a very Splinter Cell style of play. I actually stopped at smiled when I realized that is how I was playing it which is why it takes me multiple hours to complete a level. It was possible to play this way in Sniper Elite 4 but 5 really nailed it
Do you have any good memories at "The Game" in Commack, NY? They shut down like 2 decades ago. You can't really google it, there's no info on it. But they had a bunch of xbox's and ps2's, you could go there with some friends, sit on a couch and play splitscreen on their huge TVs. That was their entire business model lol.
Do you remember the Hunter the Reckoning series? I was a huge fan. Helldivers 2 is currently scratching the 4 player coop itch, but I would love to see a modern reboot.
Oh yeah I was thinking bat family playable but calling Robin down like in knight is even better. If they could somehow have you fight alongside too, man that would be perfect. But still lemme play at Robin with the staff or nightwing with the sticks. Have a good Christmas man !
Okay Jake. In the past years theres been alot of movies that are led by villains. Are there any villains that you believe deserve the solo game treatment? Ithink deathstroke could be pretty cool
The original Ghost Recon is amazing! I played it for the first time about a year ago and it's now my favorite tactical shooter. I'd highly recommend it! I also tried the newer Ghost Recon games like Wildlands but they're not nearly as good as the original.
I don't know exactly how old Jake is but I'm guessing roughly my age... I just imaged being 60 and still watching Jake's reviews and takes on games 😅 I'd love that
Hey Jake, with PlayStation focusing on remastering games from the early-to-late PS4 era, do you think they might go back further to the early PS3 era and remaster titles like Siren: Blood Curse, MotorStorm, Killzone, Resistance, or even create a new PlayStation All-Stars? Or do you think they’d prioritize making select games playable on future console generations, like the PS6?
JAKE I LOVE YOU DAWG, my question is, how did you get into being a gaming content creator and what would you say to people who want to perhaps go down that route 🤔
Yo Jake! I noticed recently you talked about reading comics. I was curious if you had a Favorite DC, Marvel, and Image / Independent series / run? For me its Secret Six by Gail Simone for DC, Uncanny X-Force by Rick Remender for Marvel, and Preacher by Garth Ennis. Cheers brother, and Happy holidays!
part of the reason why i was convinced to buy a playstation 5 was because of the backwards compatibility with playstation 4 games, and (some) free upgrades to the ps5 versions of some of those games. with this in mind, do you think playstation 6 will also be backwards compatible with playstation 4 and 5 games?
What are your thoughts on the new Mass Effect successor 'Exodus'? it would be awesome to see more videos about the game from you and the boys at Gameranx.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on the army of two franchise, me and my brother used to play this all the time we’d beat it multiple times and I genuinely think that game had some of the best coop mechanics I’ve ever seen from the rock paper scissors to just slapping and tripping each other it was peak
First I want remakes of the OG trilogy, then a reboot that's a mix of stealth in open environments like MGSV and also more linear puzzle-like stealth missions like the OG games.
What is your favorite comedy of all time? Are you more like jim carrey guy (ace venturas, liar liar etc) or maybe early adam sandler guy? I love ace venturas, but if i have to say 2 favorite comedymovies of alltime, i have to say Office Space and Freddy got fingered. I love vintage Tom Green :D
A couple months back you talk about back to the future the musical, did you ever go see it? Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Me and my wife loved it.
We are really missing an old splinter cell type of game that you want to monitor how well you are hidden by the light or surroundings, how loud youre moving, where you leave evidence like broken lights or a guard you helped fall asleep temporarily or permanently. Not to mention the believable secret agent gadgets. Old ghost recom, games like old ghost recon the current consoles are missing out. I loved graw, the other old ghost recons, xbox&xbox360 gen rainbow six, and another game. I think it was called brothers in arms. You were in the action but it t felt more tactical. Almost like your decisions of team placement and approach really mattered. PC has ready or not at least.
Hey Jake! How do you feel about the Like A Dragon series? Do you get overwhelmed with how quickly they pump out another game and which one is your favorite?
The lack of dev updates on the Splinter Cell remake is very worrying. The devs will definitely need fan feedback, we need to know it has the ‘Closer Than Ever’ camera, control and animation system. It needs to be like a new Chaos Theory with a few new more realistic mechanics
I think a good new splinter cell game with a new main character would be good. They could have Sam make a guest appearance in a mission. He could be like a contact on mission that helps you through it and he can make references to the older games and missions he did
I still own a bunch of old sports game on the Xbox/PS2/GameCube era up to the Xbox One/PS4/Wii (Nintendo stopped a bit earlier), including the March Madness one that was put on screen, but not I just wait for them to hit Game Pass, mostly through EA Play, and only play them if the achievements seem fun/doable.
QUESTION!!!! lol Games to Netflix series! what do we wanna see?! Splinter cell is gunna be dope, I liked the witcher animated movies, castlevania was great, cyberpunk edgerunners was such a solid anime. I think a God of War anime could do well and would love to see like any kind of from soft anime. For the record IDGAF about anime I'm too old for fan service things, but these netflix series have been awesome and Im interested to hear what Jake is looking forward to or hoping to see?
I’ve always loved the classic War of the Monsters game. Do you think a reboot could ever happen? Considering the continued popularity of brawler games, it seems like it could have potential, though I understand it’s a pretty niche title.
It’s been 11 years. I don’t understand why there isn’t at least a damn remaster for the Splinter Cell games.
Man…….Ubisoft hasn’t even released prince of persia sands of time remake and that was announced 4 years ago!
I don't understand why they never made another NBA Street! It doesn't make sense, if they were as greedy as they make themselves out to be. So many people loved that game! If it's a licensing issue, it needs to stop!
Its not uncommon in the gaming realm.

I'm 100% sure they tried to turn Splinter Cell into an open world rpg like all of their other games but just kept making Breakpoint over and over.
Holy crap! That laugh after "Daisy Ridley" made me laugh loud enough to wake up my girl. And that face you made was hilarious.
Are you ever going to show us your game room/ setup?
Thanks for a great year Jake. This channel is one of the things that helped me keep a sense of stability in a year of personal upheaval. You're just a solid dude, keep doing what you're doing 👍🏻
Give me a game where Sam (Ironside) retires from the field, becomes the new lambert to train up a new guy and pass the torch to a new character.

This is a great idea! Too bad Ubisoft is allergic to those..
I hadn’t thought of that but that’s a GREAT idea!

No mention of the Muppet Christmas Carol is a crime! Great video, but straight to holiday jail 😂
I was thinking that one.
I love early SCell games, the High Speed train from PT is still memorable, even got a PSP port. I recently made a John Wick style montage using Splinter Cell Blacklist stylish takedowns. One of my friend LOVES the defend mode on the old ghost recon games. It’s a kind of survival mode where you hold up with a squad against enemies pouring in etc.
That's the first time I've heard someone mention "Scrooged" in a long time. You've got good taste, loved that movie.
Dude! ESPN NFL 2K5 was AMAZING! That game still holds up today and the presentation beats recent NFL games
Please, Ubisoft, don't turn Splinter Cell into a lame open world AC clone.
I think they already did
Christmas Vacation is also my favorite Christmas movie. I watch it every year.
12:35 "Let there be light" is the command I use to turn on all the lights in my house. Never gets old.
Living the dream, Mr. Christ😅
ayy thanks for answering my question at the end Jake! Have a happy holiday season and a happy new year
It would have been amazing to see a remastered Vegas/Vegas 2 in one game with an active multiplayer coop/terrorist hunt. Those to me will forever be the best “Tom Clancy” games.
loved all the OG CLancy games. SO many classics.

Mr Baldino,
Have a great Holiday !

This was cool haven’t seen one of your videos in a long time. Enjoyed this. I love your gestures lol I mean they always make me laugh 😂
Ready or Not is a swat game and is great if you like Ranbow 6 Vegas style tactics and breaching.
That, and the fact that Ground Branch also exists, which one of the developers of the original R6-franchise is working on (as they put so up-front in the description). They're still working on it and have been for years, but it seems the reception is quite positive, so... - I thought there was another one like this, but I forget now...
Merry Christmas dude! Thanks for another great year of videos 🤘
Jake, do you have an in game OCD thing you like to do? For instance, if I can light candles and torches in a game, I don't leave a room until I light all of them in that room.
8:50 had me dying, maybe it’s the weed but I was cackling for a minute.

Man jake baldino is just the best thing to see while I’m on lunch
I would like splinter cells shadow mechanics with ray tracing affecting the amount of shadow but I'm sure Ubisoft won't put much effort to it.
Christmas movie... Gremlins. Best Christmas movie of all time.
Local theater just played Gremlins, I went to the matinee - so good!
For anyone looking for a new Splinter Cell game: Ghost Recon Wildlands! Sam Fisher has a cameo in it, you can get his NVG goggles, and there is even a class to use with "Fourth Echelon" training. I appreciate the sports answer. I can never find anyone talking about it genuinely and without disdain. Just rants about how they suck now, etc.
But alas that's the FPS sign off🤦
And now what do I do with all this pizza!?!
Merry Christmas!
@JakeBaldino Merry Christmas Jake!
I like the animated Christmas carol movie, the Star Wars holiday special, the polar express, and Fred Clause
You're splinter cell comments.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 finally, somebody who feels the EXACT same way I do
*your
Splinter Cell Double Agent was the GOAT for me, I even liked Conviction which I know most people didn't, the coop campaign was awesome.
As far as Christmas movies, The Holdovers instantly became my favorite, it's so perfect
9:38 I really feel that VR is how we will get old school type single player ganes man
My favourite bits of Star Wars Outlaws so far (just picked it up in sale) are the Splinter Cell style stealth missions.
Nba street vol. 2 was the best from the EA Big era.
Hey Jake, greetings from Chile, my question is, whats your favorite X-men run? I started the Claremont run last year and I've been loving it
This was a real nostalgia trip dang - ATV offroad fury really struck a chord
RE: the second question in this video
If you like tactical, slower shooters (perhaps with a bit of horror and real world themes sprinkled in) play Ready or Not. It’s SWAT, so a little different, but damn do you feel badass but incredibly fragile and under pressure constantly. It can get a bit depressing story/themes wise but it’s a great game and a great experience for sure
I love Blacklist! i replay it every 1-2 years.
"The Shitter was Full!" I legit just got done watching Christmas Vacation. Great movie!
Jake Baldino, it’s me, Trevor Tanke, BEGGING you to mention Darkwatch. Give it a play man, you’ll love it! Also actively folding laundry…
What do you think of the inventive, possibly hardware related gameplay mechanics such as MGS and the psycho mantis controller / memory card stuff? I feel like things like that were never really done much since but could be an extremely memorable gaming experience. Also, thanks for the year, the vids, and happy holidays!
The first 3 games are master pieces! I really want them to stick with that formula and build on top of it.
I remember feeling badass about it too :P
Was there any video game in your lifetime that inspired you to translate any skills and mechanics to a real life activity?
I did a similar thing, but it was tag with a modded nerf gun 😅 So fun!! The residents weren't too thrilled
@user-ne9sd4ow1o good times! I wish I could go back in time and try that out.
I'm certain Jake has got an eye out for me... this is the second time where I've been personally called out for folding laundry while watching this content

Can confirm I am putting laundry away 😂 that's just blown my mind.
Used to have so much playing ghost recon games. That first splinter cel game as well!
Said some of us watch while laundry. I was watching while wrapping presents.
Hey Jake you ever play Tenchu back in the day? How cool would a Princess Mononoke game be with Tenchu inspired combat?! Happy New Year btw!🎉
I would love love love a spies vs mercs remake or remaster those multiplayer sessions were so much fun!
I love Splinter Cell so a remastered version of Chaos Theory would be great. I'm impatiently waiting for the remake though
This may sound like a strange recommendation but I found that Sniper Elite 5 allows for a very Splinter Cell style of play.
Most non game post from Baldino - cool, weird how i can let Baldino rant in the background and it is quite soothing.
Oh yeah I was thinking bat family playable but calling Robin down like in knight is even better. If they could somehow have you fight alongside too, man that would be perfect. But still lemme play at Robin with the staff or nightwing with the sticks.
Have a good Christmas man !
Splinter Cell was one of my favorite games!
Okay Jake. In the past years theres been alot of movies that are led by villains. Are there any villains that you believe deserve the solo game treatment? Ithink deathstroke could be pretty cool
People who played G.R.A.W 2 were some legendary console operators!💪🏽
Man how about the original pilot wings. I had a blast playing that.
The original Ghost Recon is amazing! I played it for the first time about a year ago and it's now my favorite tactical shooter. I'd highly recommend it! I also tried the newer Ghost Recon games like Wildlands but they're not nearly as good as the original.
Hey Jake, did you ever play Driver Sanfransisco? It's one of my favourite games that I go back to often. I wish we got a sequel!
I don't know exactly how old Jake is but I'm guessing roughly my age... I just imaged being 60 and still watching Jake's reviews and takes on games 😅 I'd love that

I'm so relieved you said that about MGS5. It didn't do it for me and I kind of felt guilty, since it's definitely a good game
Hey Jake. What can we do to get a Freedom Fighters remake or a sequel? Its my favorite game of all time and I know its one of yours too.

Jake 8-bit christmas on max is fun and about trying to get a Nintendo back in the 80s
What are your thoughts on the new Mass Effect successor 'Exodus'? it would be awesome to see more videos about the game from you and the boys at Gameranx.
Lmao, I get you to answer a Star Wars question and you troll me 😂😅😂 well played sir. Happy holidays
Blacklist was damn near a perfect stealth game. I only want a better slide/roll & a CQC system with more depth
ATV off-road fury changed my little life. getting thrown across the stage awakened a hunger for ragdoll physics that will never be filled…
I really felt bad after finishing Ace Combat on the PS2, but that was still fun. Namastè.
I’d like to hear your thoughts on the army of two franchise, me and my brother used to play this all the time we’d beat it multiple times and I genuinely think that game had some of the best coop mechanics I’ve ever seen from the rock paper scissors to just slapping and tripping each other it was peak

Love how you went from loving a good basketball game to a question from Duncan Star. Was the pun intentional?
I think a good new splinter cell game with a new main character would be good. They could have Sam make a guest appearance in a mission. He could be like a contact on mission that helps you through it and he can make references to the older games and missions he did
I feel personally attacked(currently folding laundry)
😅
Does anyone remember pure? It was an atv game me and my brother used to play it all day

Hey Jake. Whats your thoughts on Metal Gear Peacewalker? Its the only metal gear ive ever played and that was when I was a young lad. Love the vids!
I’ve always loved the classic War of the Monsters game. Do you think a reboot could ever happen? Considering the continued popularity of brawler games, it seems like it could have potential, though I understand it’s a pretty niche title.
