  • Frieren is a show that makes me feel lots of things. Joy, sadness, excitement, melancholy, and much more. It's one of the most emotionally mature and immersive stories I've ever encountered. It also has a lot to say about what it means to be alive, and where people can find joy and fulfillment in that. In today's video, I discuss how this show does it, and why I love it so much.

13:10 there are some people who think demons are misunderstood, they might have a point, but one of the demons introduced clearly explains what they truly are.

I really enjoyed your video. Sincere, down to earth and insightful analysis. It made me feel a little emotional, which is something that most video essays of the show failed to do when I watched them. I also liked the floating picture with the Frieren plushie! Nice copyright joke!

Ha! Thanks so much!! Even back when my videos used to be fully scripted, I've always-- intentionally or not-- leaned more on a sort of a sincere, emotional style. It's my personal touch, so to speak haha
In these videos, I always try to share my experiences with media and how it made me feel, and of course, Frieren is an extra emotional story. So if this this video made you feel even half as emotional as the show itself, my work is more than done here!

@@ashster_sunshine I do like this intimate approach. It creates a sense of wonder and a sense of human connection in the viewer. I felt connected to you as a person, especially when you mentioned that you watched an episode with your father and he got chills. I'd like more video essayists to try this approach since it makes the video more impactful!
Yes, Frieren is an extra emotional story. I kept up with it week by week and I became extremely attached to it. I felt a big void in my heart when it finally stopped airing. This month I decided to rewatch it a second time at the pace of one episode per day, and the show manages to move me even more than the first time. In fact, I'm going to watch today's episode right after posting this comment here...
