I've been a devout Christian ever since I was old enough to understand the idea of going to heaven, and it's depressing to see so many of my fellow Christians have such shallow, artificial faith; for example, all these Southern Baptists turning out in 2016 to vote for a candidate who ran a fear- and hatemongering campaign. How hard is it for a parent to see what content your child can handle? I grew up playing violent games and watching horror/action movies because my mom knew what I was like and knew I wouldn’t act on it. She also explained early on that it wasn’t real. If your kid can’t understand it, or is unstable, just don’t buy them the thing. It’s so simple.
The whole gta thing comes to mind. It’s rated 18+. For adults. And the parents buy it knowing full well it’s 18+, and then they complain about it? It’s like going and buying drugs, taking them, and then complaining that it messed them up.

Because they were about to get me Minecraft & dad warned me to always remember that it's just a game, that I don't have multiple lives, & jumping off of building is dumb & I shouldn't do it. Which is funny because it's bloody Minecraft & I've watched dad play CoD since I was around 4-5, & have always been allowed to watch him play 16+ games (my favourite still being Gothic 2 & Morrowind). It just shows that video games don't make people 'act violent', but they can make them act dumb, especially kids, so parents should always keep an eye on them & remind them that it's just a game.
