I really enjoy your restorations. I subbed your channel because you don’t use power tools for filing or sanding. All filing and sanding is done by hand. That is a true restoration and show of craftsmanship. I would only ask you to show more sanding / filing at normal video speed. It’s part of the restoration and adding a couple min to the video is ok. I look forward to the rest of your content. Thank you.
Hi now this was interesting to me because I have a bunsun blow lamp like this, maybe not the same model but brass with the pump on the side that was my father’s. now I was looking to do something like this but didn’t know where to get parts like gaskets can you point me in a direction thanks
Wonder if that screw would have broken if it were lubricated first and allowed to sit a while before trying to take it out? Always worth a try. Good video, Thanks!
I think it is supposed to use white gas-which is naptha or camping fuel-less explosive than gasoline-also pre-heat by dumping fuel looks dangerous-we had one that works without preheat-it just sputters a bit until it warms up
Hello, I think the translation is the issue, the type of fuel used is called "essence C" in french, petrol based and it is commonly used in petrol lamps, I forget to mention that the preheat fuel was alcohol. I'm also not planning to fire it up again for the moment :)
The solder is the safety valve, it holds a brass needle attached to the bottom of the tank, it melt and releases pressure in case of overheat, or break in case of overpressure. I was also worried, but I found out that this was the pre-1940s safety system for this model :)
Very Nice ! like very much bronze restorations.

Good restoration, and I like the roughed look - it's not always the right thing to go for a mirror polished look. 👍👍👍
Very good restauration, beautiful.
What material did you use to replace the wick (10:40) ?
Thank you ! As much as I remember, it is a standard oil lamp wick that you can find on amazon, just matched the original diameter
Got my sub, keep up the excellent work 👍

I think that the strong heating of that place would help the screw stay intact. Or good lubrication

That tank is compromised with that solder repair. Heat plus pressurized fuel is a recipe for disaster for any possible leaks.

How many videos did you watch to find out how to wick this up 😂
Bonne restauration, mais j’aimerais voir plus de finition!. Équipe toi d’une meule de polissage ça urge...👍
Craftsman!!
Mince, pas de génie dans la lampe ;)
Très belle restauration.
It is a good restoration but not perfect.

You restored its function but not its beauty.
