- In this video, you will see How to Print Photo on Mug at home - Using Electric Iron . This is a really very useful project, can be easily made at home.
Things you need :
1.White Mug
2.Electric Iron
3.Printer
4.SUBLIMATION paper for print photo

I print photo gifts from Hyderabad. This comment is for those who want to know how exactly printing on mugs done. I felt like responding with below points.
1. Every white cup can not be used to print photos. (Sublimation mugs only)
2. Normal ink for paper is NOT suitable to print on mugs. Sublimation ink only works for mugs. so you need to have a dedicated printer with SUBLIMATION ink. Normal inks should NOT be mixed with these Inks.
3. Paper to use is Sublimation paper also called as Heat transfer paper (Normal paper absorbs ink and transfer paper TRANSFER THE INK when it is pressed on object at a given temperature, pressure and certain time period). Then the inks will react chemically with the surface and forms a chemical bond with the surface. That is how the image transfers from paper to surface.
4. Iron is OK on flat surfaces like key chains, t shirts, tiles etc. but on mugs it WILL NOT give uniform pressure.
5. Tape used is correct and known as Kapton tape which withstands high temperatures and will not leave gum. But normal cello tapes leave gum on surface.
6. The image should be printed in MIRROR so that actual image appears on mug after removing paper.
7. Over heating burns the paper and less heat will not be good enough to transfer which results in patches.
You can try printing at home with iron on flat surface.
Get a print out on sublimation paper from LOCAL MUG PRINTERS.

sublimation Paper and Printer is a main thing that required and this one not be cleared in videos.

would have been a nice informational video if... there had been any actual information to go with it. Paper type, printer type (laser, inkjet)? iron temperature? any thing required to 'fix' the image (top coat of anything)? you know... information.
The paper is Duvall back ioning paper pink one side White the other can get it in packs on eBay hun

This video does not mention about printing method. Like whether sublimation printer, ink and sublimation paper was used. Thus I find this as misleading and not useful at all.

It only work if you have Epson printer with sublimation ink. The paper is also sublimation transfer paper and mug is not normal mug, its sublimation mug.

Use Heat Transfer paper. You need to know how to print it (reverse image) .. i think its the same technique used for T-shirt printing using heat transfer paper.
1st there were 3 teps in mug but later there were 2...that means he opened the teps and replace with a printed mug....

Laser printer.
Transfer paper.
Then you can transfer to wood. Fabric. Mugs etc ☺️

ok people you can use any printer and it don't need to be sublimation ink. Whatever ink you have will work you will need sublimation paper and sublimation mug is how it works

It's because they did something behind the scene. It's not true to the video. Sublimation paper need to be used with sublimation ink & sublimation printer.

You have shown that how to print on the mug but you have not informed that the Mug is a special coated mug and the paper is not any ordinary paper it is a special transfer paper that adhers to the coading on the mug when heated and it is not a dish washing machine safe. friends it is easy to print on the mug as shown but not without the right tools and material.

To those who don't know the type of paper that he used, its called Transfer paper or sublimation paper that you can buy in some office supplies stores. Its in the description already :)
Can we print that kind of paper in any kind of printer like Epson L360 or does it have its kind of printer for that paper?

She needs to be more clear on her instruction. Let people know that she is using sublimation paper and a sublimation printer. Sublimation paper doesn’t work with regular printers.

Just noticed. The person put 2 pieces of capton tape on one side, then 3 pieces on the other of the paper. But when they removed it, there were 2 on one side and 2 on the other. Seems like they cut the video too. Strange.

Incredible - never have seen this before but could you consider an update and include: laser printer or jet print, what kind of paper (photo?), what heat setting on the iron (and did I see a Teflon plate on the iron) and was there a cool off period before removing the picture. Thanks

I think you can only use sublimation paper with subilmation ink, usually with polymer coating. The video doesn't show anything of the products being used so i might be wrong.

I looked sublimation paper up on the internet and you can buy it online at Amazon and other online stores. You also need the use the sublimation inks, plus transfer software etc. Look it up.
