I’ve been contemplating why more people aren’t grafting oak and other natives onto smaller root stocks so they can fit in any setting. I’ve tried googling but not found much. Fun video. Thanks
First of all thank you for stating the importance of planting native trees and plants, it’s vital to our ecosystem to plant native species whenever possible. My issue with this video and the links is that it does not provide enough information to help someone choose a plant. You list the cherry tree for example but you don’t specify the variety. If one is not careful they may end up planting a non native cherry tree. We need more information or please provide additional links.
Thanks for your feedback! This is my favorite resource for determining what to plant: www.nwf.org/nativePlantFinder/plants Per your recommendation, I'll add it to the text below the video as well. Thank you!
California--- Oregon Oak, Single-Leaf Pinyon Pine, Blue Oak, Cascara, Jeffery Pine, Giant Sequoia, White Fir, Water Willow, Incense Cedar, Chokecherry, California Buckeye, Blue Elderberry, and Mountain Hemlock.
