During our last trip to Cancun, we wanted to do something different for an excursion, so we decided to visit the little fishing town of Puerto Morelos. @rhythmoflove2 it still makes sense to reserve in my opinion. But there are plenty of taxis waiting BUT you should have an idea of what it should cost. It should be around $30-40 usd

We have been to Puerto Morelos several times. We stay there for weeks at a time a Air bnb’s on the colonia side. I wouldn’t take one of those tours, too much high pressure. You should try just going on your own sometime. You’ll find it very laid back and relaxing.

In December, we will be staying at Ventus Ha at Marina El Cid ( Puerto Morelos). We will have access to Ventus at Marina El Cid and Hotel Marina at El Cid (4.5 stars). We have taken a guided food tour by a local Puerto Morelos Chef and plan do it again in December. Riviera Maya Food Tours.

Isla Mujeres has a lot
More to do and better water at Playa Norte which is considered one of the best beaches in the world

Been to both, stayed a week on Isla. Stayed months at PM. I will take PM any day over Isla. Both are amazing. I just find the cenotes, and the food scene in Puerto is hard to beat. The proximity to the barrier reef, another reason.
