    When using the cool box am I able to use the internal exhaust fan in tandem with the external exhaust fan. I have an internal exhaust system that came connected my Muse Core and I also purchased the M-Series exhaust fan.

    • @FullSpectrumLasers
      @FullSpectrumLasers  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the coolbox is only water and air-assist. Anything exhaust-related is separate. A lot of our customers use multiple exhaust fans, as the integrated one isn't always enough to vent outside depending on your setup.

    WHY can't the passthrough on these desktop versions CUT ? I was told using the pass through is only for engraving?

    Hello. I have a Muse laser cutter and my wood always chips on the edges when I cut something. Why does that happen?

    • @FullSpectrumLasers
      @FullSpectrumLasers  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's really hard to tell without knowing what kind of wood you're using, what wattage your tube is, and your settings. It can happen when you run the laser too hot, or if your wood is too thick.

    Before you buy, read the BBB complaints. The QC and customer service complaints tell a terrible story.

    • @bw162
      @bw162 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Shiftedphase That was my reaction after I read the BBB complaints. And since the complaints were all nearly the same, you have to draw some conclusions. They weren’t just “one-off” issues. I was really thrown back by what appeared, in the Muse replies, a very poor attitude towards their customers. Truly an eye opener for me. The company culture seemed almost hostile. I am not impressed with Glowforge either. To much marketing and PR smoke and mirrors. When you go to the “buy” choice on their web site, the price is $16,000 marked down to $5,995. Silly. Their marketing, however is as good as Apples’. Try to get them to explain how one unit is 2x as fast with the same tube. 6 month warranty? The desktop laser industry is all very new with very little transparency in the specs. A 35w tube is normally rated at a “normal” power. But these companies can push them up and report better performance but poorer life on them and the power supply. And the most expensive part, the tube, is a “consumable” and not covered in their warranties. It will eventually shake out but I decided I was not going to be a victim or beta tester for $5-$6k.

    • @bw162
      @bw162 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Shiftedphase Regretfully, no. I spent the last 2 weeks just doing research on nearly all of them that looked like they might be candidates and in the same price range. The new Dremel is the same as the Muse with less features. They actually partnered with FSL for theirs. Customer service might be better, but price to value isn’t and I would imagine the same components. I won’t touch Glowforge if, for no other reason, than there software is all in the cloud and without it, their machine is a brick. IMO, they are a Kickstart company with a focus on return to investors. Maybe a subscription service fee to access their cloud for advanced features? I won’t pay $6k for a machine that is dependent on web based software I can’t download. I just think the desktop market is not ready for prime time yet. For 6k, I can get an incredible CNC machine for wood, metal, plastics that is production run quality and has durability. Just can’t put it on a desktop.

    • @bw162
      @bw162 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shiftedphase A lot less expensive too. I’d rather buy a Chinese laser for $1,500 and have to tinker with it than blow $6,000.

      @@FullSpectrumLasers am curious why you won't address these concerns voiced here. The appearance and impression it leaves is not one of trust given what can be seen on the BBB site and in other places. Frankly I was considering this over a GlowForge, but now looking at your reaction to these comments, you will need to convince me the problems documented are addressed and the OC and customer service has been markedly improved.

    Can it cut longer than 20"? Is there a pass through? or engrave only?

    • @angy101rulz
      @angy101rulz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's the option to add an extension for $895 and it raises the machine allowing you to engrave tumblers and it has a passthrough slot.

At this point, I'm paying for an FS support person's salary and not getting any use out of my machine!! I call and email almost daily with a new issue and it's not due to user error.
