  • I'm going to have fun with this!
    Makeblock Laserbox: xtool-booster-10.kckb.st/d568...
The laser is a 40watt CO2 and can cut through fairly thick material.
If I have issues with it in the future or something else comes up I will update this video description. As far as I can tell so far, it's a great machine!

Nice video, but in the future, save your viewers the legwork of trying to figure out how much the unit costs. I'm not going to request custom quotes just to find out if I could ever consider affording this. A quick google search suggests $5,499 with a setup similar to what I saw here. I don't know if thats marked up b/c its from a 3rd party site, but at least its some guidance.

i thought it was great until I saw: $5,499.99 at which point i ca teach myself the setting for each material and use my own graphic software and get a 100W laser and still have thousands left! I i could write it off-then and only then would I invest in this, admittedly super well designed desktop machine!

this looks like a nice machine with easy to use software , the only down side is the price , since you can get a k40 for a fraction for it's price or go big format laser with way bigger workspace and a powerfull tube for the same price , the only hasstle is the learning curve for the software to get a hold of the machin's full potential

It looks pretty cool, but I feel the best thing about this machine is the software.
You can only engrave 22 mm high, so no bottles or thick parts.
But the fact that you can scan designs drag and drop on the final product and engrave it is very nice, especially for people like me that have no patience for designing.
Do you know a similar solution with more capabilities??

Also, I've read you can get a cheaper laser and modify it to do the same thing for 1/5th of the cost. Still looking into that before I decide on spending thousands of dollars.

TheBeautifulDiversion this one looks to be just as user friendly as a glowforge without having to be beholden to glowforge’s cloud software. That’s why I won’t buy a GForge. Yes, many other laser cutters have more power, cut larger sized materials and cost less than $5k. If this brand has a cutter that has a larger work area, I’d consider it because setup and operational headaches are not what I want from a less expensive alternative.

I was considering the GlowForge but it is extremely loud and a lot of negatives. It seems like this MakeBlock would function in an Office setting. I plan on putting it in my office, by a window for the exhaust. Is it quiet enough I would be able to watch TV with it on or work on the computer or what db does it operate at? Thanks

I am definitely getting one of those for myself.
Oh wait... I just remembered... I don't have an extra $4,500 burning a hole in my pocket.

Looks great but where can you purchase the materials to cut/engrave outside of the US? Can’t find anywhere online

HI, Can you cut fabric? And if you could cut fabric, how many layers? I am a quilter and I was wondering if this would help since cutting with a rotary cutter is not always accurate and there is slippage when cutting. There is die cutters out there but you always have to buy that set. So if this could cut a variety of shapes that would be great. Thanks

might as well buy the glowforge or muse. all the same price- what's the difference? Do I need to be connected to the internet to use this like Glowforge cause that's not going to happen.

What would make this better than a thunder or epilog laser aside from the child safety features?
