So when it comes to learning the lingo and procedures, look at FAA order JO 7110.664. If you want an easier way to taxi in war thunder, I’ve made my control setup very modular. Bind LT/L2 and up on the D-pad to “Head Movement up, Relative controls” This will raise your head pov make it easier to see forward and around the aircraft during taxing. Also, you can disable the front hud by pressing Lt/L2 and Y. This makes it easier to see straight through when looking forwards.
I'm new to the game and hate the default controls...aiming with left stick and placing the circle where you wanna fly is so off putting for me and messes me up in dogfights big time. Are these controls more like flying jets in other games? (Battlefield, ace combat, gta)
Yes! I felt the same way as you when I started playing and wanted something more comparable to other games. Soo The acceleration/throttle on this control layout is using LT/RT or L2/R2 just like Ace Combat! Now to be very specific, this control guide is mainly used in first person for sim mode but I’m almost finished making a layout for Air Rb/ Ground RB I initially binded the “Shoot” button to B to make it just like ace combat; however, this conflicts with my biggest rule. Shoot, Look, and Fly at the same time. In order to push B/O it removes your thumb from the control stick etc. Very technical and ALOT of trial and error but I feel like i finally made a great layout that works best with my rule.
