    I recommend using all 80 characters for people who sell one off items, and the first 5 words being the most important. eBay's advice is to limit traffic to the most relevant words, which is advice more for people who sell replenishables and try to dominate specific keywords.

    • @dailyrefinement
      @dailyrefinement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      ebay wants us to only have relevant traffic, but we should strive for most possible traffic and use all the keywords that customers might use to find their items.

    Ebay doesn't make it easy for people to see the description of the item, let alone the specifics. They put advertisements for items that have nothing to do with the item you're looking at *before* letting you see the description. They need to stop trying to be like Amazon and make it easier for the buyer to see all the information at once.

    I recently was shopping on Mercari and I typed in black and white checkered table cloth, and the search results were diluted with everything black and white and checkered so it made me realize as a seller how too many key words in your titles can hurt you and cause your listing to get lost. Example if my listing just said round cotton table cloth and I put black and white in the description field , your listing will still come up but with less items not related to a table cloth.

    If ebay will recommend shorter titles to make the most out of Google searches.... Wouldn't it make sense that ebay will rewards those who help ebay with shorter titles? .. Think about it.. Even youtube does that, they reward channels who follow youtubes advice.

    If you haven't already, you seriously need to write a book, I'd definitely buy it and spread it around! Regarding the writing titles, should we write for example; Echo Park (brand name) Christmas Wishes (Collection name) 6X6 Paper Pad, or Christmas Wishes 6x6 Paper Pad by Echo Park? Also, should we include New or Used in our title? Thanks for your help!

    I think that eBay customer service people don't know much about this. Everytime I call, I receive different opinions. I think they are hired just to receive calls and technical problems. I don't think they know much about what works or not to sell more..

    The long title was pointless because some of those words should already be in the listing specifics , example women's,blouse , and blue so that's why they shortened it. If eBay already paid for the advertisement the idea they want to minimize traffic, defeats the purpose of them paying for traffic.

    i feel you might be wrong about the titles. I have a feeling the new AI cant deal with long titles , gets confused and then just hides the listings. I have the sense i get alot more views when the titles are simple with very basic words e.g green instead of lime

    • @dailyrefinement
      @dailyrefinement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      depends on the types of items.

    • @Claudia-vn3fb
      @Claudia-vn3fb 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That example you're giving doesn't have to be because of AI, though. People would search for a green coat, but not a lime coat - even if they'd want a lime coat. I feel that sellers are often bending over backwards to get the correct keywords to describe an item, when the customers themselves don't even know the correct term for what they're looking for. E.g. how many people know what princess seams are, or a peplum dress...don't know it, can't search for it, item won't get views.

      @@Claudia-vn3fb I've thought this to myself many times as I spend waaaaay too much time doing a google search of a particular style of women's clothing. My conclusion. Sell men's only. We're simple creatures, and won't be bothered to return an item. lol

    Why not try listing 2 of the same something for a dollar that should be 10 or 20 and have it look like a seller price mistake, and then see if the traffic is real, like chum in the water. Try the title both ways but at the total give away price. If it doesn't sell at all, then its a problem. I use all 80 , no sales last week.

      What we need is a true ORGANIC search engine for eBay, with no manipulation or nonsense, only results that actually match what someone searches on. Just like doing a SQL search on a local database on a user's computer. Yeah, never happen, but we need it. As a buyer, I am tired of eBay and Amazon's manipulation nonsense.

    Strange question, if you have say 15 watchers on an item but it hasn't moved yet in like 30 days, is it better to wait it out with the traction you've gained already and have it seem like it's stagnating or delist/relist and loose those watchers?

    • @dailyrefinement
      @dailyrefinement  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Many of those watchers are likely other resellers unless it's an Auction. As a buyer I watch items for the last minute bid. create a coupon or run a 10% sale and offer free shipping if not already, especially if it's an item under 1 lb.
