2022 Conference: Session 6 - Programs that Elevate Youth Voice & Agency

The 2022 Conference, “Pass the Mic: Amplifying Youth Voice & Agency” (#YouthAct22), started from the premise that, as a society, we all do better when youth have opportunities to actively engage and have a say in the systems around them. Throughout the conference, we heard from young people, youth workers, educators, researchers, and policy makers about both constraints in and efforts to amplify youth voice and agency across a variety of domains, including health and well-being, education, juvenile justice and social systems, and politics, organizing, and civic life.
To close the conference, we take a deep dive into what programs can do to amplify youth voice. Panelists will talk about best practices for programs that seek to center youth voice and agency and how the adults in those spaces can not just advocate for but partner with young people.
