Excellent , #1 BackCountryHikingSpot for me. Views , music , right attitudes. Truthfully the scenery and the music are really good. Glad I found you Travis. That was back when your friend disappeared for a while. Now your top dog. Thanks . I appreciate.
Yeah, we took a chance on it. I wish that I would've captured it on film, but at the top of the pass we could see the mountain we were trying to get around and it looked like a sheer, vertical rock wall. I'm glad we pushed on anyway, it was a little bit of adventure
Thanks for the great video! It brought back lots of memories from the last few years. I stayed in exactly the same campsite at Heart Lake two years ago.
Spectacular scenery, well captured. I grew up outside of Elgin. Many childhood trips to Wallowa lake , lostine & the Cap wilderness. Thanks VERY MUCH for an enjoyable trip down memory lane !
Enjoyed Part II as I knew I would. Thanks for more great Oregon scenery and the frost on the pumpkin on the start of day 5. A pleasant ending to this adventure and a nice reset for you and your trail mates. Cheers! 🍻
Great video, Travis! We only discovered your channel a couple months ago but it has quickly become our favorite. You do a fantastic job of putting these videos together. Next best thing to actually being there. Missed Timber on this one. Hope his health continues to improve.
Glad to see you and your friends back on the trail again. Beautiful, beautiful country! It's always good to have at least a couple of lay-over days for relaxation and easy-going exploration. Thanks!
I've been hiking up the Lostine river there near the horse camp during late summer. Some of those meadows have beautiful snap dragons growing all over the place.
I've been there many times. We camped there in the mid-'60s. We would spend 14 days there and never see a soul. In fact, the only time we ever saw anyone was one time a forest ranger happened into our camp. That used to be sheep country. There were sheep camps there through the summers. We use to have a lot of trouble with deer, They just never seen people and they would make a nuisance of themselves coming into camp and getting into things.
Absolutely beautiful video, thank you so much for sharing! We watched a past Eagle Cap wilderness video of yours that inspired 2 really wonderful trips ... I really enjoyed this video and beautiful shots. How is Timber? Best wishes! 🙏 Jen
I do use a drone. You're not allowed to fly drones in wilderness areas and that is something that we respect. I do have other videos in the Bitterroots with a lot of drone footage in it.
I've been going back and enjoying some of your past video's, looks like this trip went well also 👌 looked very relaxing. The wife and i started doing trips in there the last cpl yrs and are very excited to continue. Do you see very much wildlife on your trips into the Caps? Besides a cpl elk and Mt Goats we havent seen much as far as deer/elk
No, we haven't seen anything. I didn't get a recording of it, but when we were camped at Hidden Lake, some elk came up into the basin and started bugling! I was bummed that I couldn't capture it.
#1 and #2, ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!,,, You never disappoint ❤
Thank you for always sharing the beauty 😊
The Eagles Caps are a beautiful place!

I'm happy you're enjoying it. We're not trying to do or be anything special, just making backpacking videos - Joey is back btw
Wonderful sunsets here and the red vegetation marking the arrival of fall made for a very colorful journey.
And that is exactly what I am out there chasing!
You rolled the dice on the bushwhack and won, nice. Hidden Lake basin was gorgeous and more great sunsets. Great trip Travis!

Nice vid Travis! May the Crow be with you.
The Crow was with us... till we ran out. Zero days will do that!
Thanks for the great video! It brought back lots of memories from the last few years. I stayed in exactly the same campsite at Heart Lake two years ago.
I really liked that lake! We thought about taking a zero there. I would've liked to have explored it some more.

The Wanderers encourage you to never skip leg day!
lol haha
gotta love the eagle caps! :) all who wander are certainly not lost!!!!!!!!!!! awesomeness! thanks!
They are a special place!
I really enjoyed this! Looks like you had the place to yourselves.
When we were down in the drainages, we did pass a few hunting camps and met one hunter on trail, but other than that, not a soul!
Looks like post-Labor Day is the time to go. Not only for the empty trails but all those great colors.
I'm not sure if we hit it at peak colors or not, but they were pretty damn good!
Spectacular scenery, well captured. I grew up outside of Elgin. Many childhood trips to Wallowa lake , lostine & the Cap wilderness. Thanks VERY MUCH for an enjoyable trip down memory lane !
Sounds like a great place to grow up!

What a great trip! I admire your fortitude and ability to navigate all those miles, truly spectacular places, thanks!
It really is a spectacular place! I'm already looking forward to my next trip in there!
What a beautiful trip! Eagle Cap Wilderness has to be Oregon's finest! Thanks Travis.
I might need to explore some more of this state!
Hidden Lake was a nice place! You got some great sunsets! Glad you got out with your original crew! Great trip! I gotta go visit this range! Cheers! 🍻
I finally got some great night skies, something I've been missing this year!
Another great trip!
It was for sure! Thanks for checking it out!

Great trip! Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Now that was just enough hiking and just enough relaxing to make it a great trip. Thanks for the video and take care, Al
I would have to agree! Sometimes you just need to slow down a bit!
What an amazing trip!!!
And the music is very good too. Love it!!!
You are too kind! Thanks for watching it!

Hi timber. Watching from Grand Rapids, MI.
Timber says *sup*🐾

I believe it!

I would've loved to been in that country back in the 60's. I can imagine that it felt very remote!

I love to hear that! Timber is doing well, living the luxury life!
Thanks for sharing, I’m disabled now and can’t hike or backpack anymore. You guyz might think about getting a drone for awesome photography

That's great, at least you got to see and hear it 👍
@@bradhutchison6226 I couldn't help but hear it, they woke me up from a dead sleep!😂
Finding that game trail was a piece of luck.
It was! In parts it looked like a well-used hiker trail, but then it would shoot straight up the mountain and we were going hand over hand.
