Another big screen worthy post! Outstanding Oregon scenery! Amazed at how much you've really challenged yourself this hiking season. On to Part II trying to catch up after about 10 days in the Cherokee National Forest. Thanks for the vicarious adventure!!
Thanks for posting this video. Eagle Camp Wilderness has been on my bucket list for a few years. Beautiful scenery, especially just before sunset on night three. Great video Travis!
Beautiful country been all over them hills! Extremely beautiful country and the trout fishing is excellent! Do a video of Bear lake and then up to Looking Glass Lake. I love the Eagle caps and imnaha area! We catch a lot of steelhead on the lower Imnaha river. Switch back trails all rock and boulders haha ❤❤❤
Maaaan see these are the kinds of friends I need. I'm from Wyoming and I've been in Salem OR for almost 2 years now and I've not been in the woods a single time yet. There's so many places to go that I get option locked and end up going nowhere lol
Wonder if y'all heard any weird sounds during the nights or seen anything you couldn't explain?🤔 I'm from Baker County & there's a LOT of unexplainable goings on up in them hills...thanks for sharing!
I was surprised by your starting point for a long hike. The Lostine trailhead gives the most loop options. Waiting to see how you get back to the trailhead.
We did this route to hit some of the parts of the wilderness that we had never been to before. I don't want to give it away, but we're not ending where you think we will. 😃
😂🌧🌈I think we are going to have a nice extended autumn; I personally enjoy the rain; it's soothing for me(my friend Tim is a bit bummed out for the Ice festival, but I think we may still have a wee bit of snow potentially come December/January)
@mountainwanderer Sorry Travis, let me rephrase my question. Do you like your Circuit and how has it performed for you? The backpack your using didn't look like a ULA. Sorry for the confusion. I don't know what a "Wallowas" is?
oh wow... yeah, missed that. The Wallowas are the range that the Eagle Caps are in. I didn't use my ULA Circuit because we were going in for a week and my pack weight would've been over the recommended limit. Whiskey is heavy
I live right next to these mountains and there are 2 rules u should NEVER ignore.. Always carry a sidearm u can effectively hit with, and Always hike together. A lone unarmed hiker is an easy target for a motivated predator...
Thanks for sharing. Question about hiking with your dogs. Obviously, they are well trained and well behaved. I’m sure they like being off leash for their hike. However, not everyone likes encounters with dogs on trail. Other hikers with dogs or horses may not want an encounter with unleashed dogs on a narrow steep trail. Wildlife encounters with off leash dogs can be dangerous for either. Is there any regulations or etiquette about dogs off leash?
I'm sure the regulations change based on where you are. I don't let my dogs run up on people. Once in a while we might get surprised by hikers and I have to call him back, but when we encounter other people, horses or other pack stock, we always grab our dogs and get off of the trail until they've passed. I've had dogs run up on me and I don't like it either. We purposely pick wilderness areas and less populated areas to go into because we hike with our dogs off of the leash. If it is an area that would require us to leash them, then we probably wouldn't go there.
I love the wallowas, I need to spend more time out there. Beautiful trip. You are blessed to have friends to go on a annual backpacking trip with.
They are something special! These guys are friends though - they are family! 😂
Man, that's some nice country for camping. You picked the right thumbnail - those colors are something else.
I am a sucker for the fall colors! This trip had me running around with my camera trying to capture it all!
Loved that scenery. Oregon is an outdoor playground. Great hiking trails 👍🏻👍🏻
I need to explore more of that state!
Beautful country - how wonderful to share it with good friends and good dogs.
You really summed it up! The beautiful country is best shared with good friends!

10 days in the Cherokee NF sounds awesome!
Good to see you out with your crew. Gorgeous area, good weather, great views.
There is something special about the Eagle Caps!
Always love when I see a new upload from " Mountain Wanderer " thank you, God bless 😊
Thanks for watching them when they do come out!
Thanks for posting this video. Eagle Camp Wilderness has been on my bucket list for a few years. Beautiful scenery, especially just before sunset on night three. Great video Travis!
They are definitely one of my favorite ranges! If you ever make out this far west, let me know! I would love to get together for a trip!
Wonderful video, thank you for sharing, as always
Thanks for checking it out!
Beautiful area! I have wanted to backpack this range. It looks wild! My kind of place. Good to see you out after the Highline!
The Eagle Caps are a really neat place. I highly recommend going there if you get the chance!
For sure this range is on the radar! Thanks for the preview!
Ah the views, the rain! So nice! It's been so dry here in eastern WA. this year. Thanks for taking us along!
It was nice even being out in the rain!
Awesome! Eagle Cap Wilderness. Love it! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to the next part. Hike on!
I do love the Eagle Caps! Tough to beat!
Awesome video and fun times! Yeah, I'm definitely moving the Eagle Caps up on my list of priorities. Looking forward to Pt 2!

It is so picturesque there!
Always great productions!
Thanks, man! I appreciate you watching!
Not an area I've spent any time in, thanks for posting!
If you get the chance, I highly recommend it!

I fall more in love with this country every time I go there! Can't wait for the next trip so I can explore some more of it!
Yeah it’s gorgeous up there thank you for doing a great video I’m disabled and can’t go up there anymore! Love the views
Looks like an awesome trip so far! I did 4 trips in the Wallowas this season and didn’t see this area so thank you!
Wow! Sounds like I have some more areas to explore!
Lived above the Wallowa at Big Canyon for five years, but am too stove up for backpacking. Beautiful country.
That sounds like an amazing place to live! We'll do the hiking for you, you can just take in the views!
Beautiful!
Thanks for watching!

Whoa man! You live in a great place for hiking! Don't think about where to go too much, just pick one and hit it!
Wow great. Love the dark coated dog.
Yes! The dark haired dog is out with us again. He really loves sticks, like really loves them!
Wonder if y'all heard any weird sounds during the nights or seen anything you couldn't explain?🤔
I'm from Baker County & there's a LOT of unexplainable goings on up in them hills...thanks for sharing!
The only thing we heard in the night was some elk came into the basin that we were camped in and started bugling. Pretty cool!
I was surprised by your starting point for a long hike. The Lostine trailhead gives the most loop options. Waiting to see how you get back to the trailhead.

Can't wait to see how part 2 goes so I can follow the trail on Gaia. I need to get back to the Eagle Caps.
In part 2 we go off trail for a little bit!
Man I was just there at the end of August. We went to Culver lake and bear lake. It is one of my favorite spots in the eagle caps
I'm not familiar with those lakes, time to get out the map and look them up! I am looking for more excuses to go back there!
Some more beautiful country. Dogs look good. How's Timber doing? Didn't see him at the party. Thanks for another great video and take care, Al
Timber is doing well, but he had to sit this one out as a precaution.
😂🌧🌈I think we are going to have a nice extended autumn; I personally enjoy the rain; it's soothing for me(my friend Tim is a bit bummed out for the Ice festival, but I think we may still have a wee bit of snow potentially come December/January)
I love the rain as well! I always hope for an extended autumn, it is my favorite season!
Wow Awesome views
The Eagle Caps always brings the views!
Did you ditch your Circuit Travis? Nice to see Timber back at it again.
I would definitely put the Wallowas in my circuit! Wanderers gonna Wander!

Good one..

I live right next to these mountains and there are 2 rules u should NEVER ignore.. Always carry a sidearm u can effectively hit with, and Always hike together. A lone unarmed hiker is an easy target for a motivated predator...
Those are a couple points to keep in mind, but as far as absolutes... no.

Annual campout....first time in Oregon
This was my 3rd trip in to the Eagle Caps and the 2nd trip here we have for our fall campout.
A lot different than California, huh?
I don't know, I haven't backpacked in California yet.
